  1. I love seeing the media especially those at CTV make such embarrassing mistakes.
The Liberals now have Boob Rae aspiring to be the leader of the Lieberals, watch out cos next it’ll be Jack Layton once they kick him out of the Communist Party er, New Dhimmi Party.

  2. Thanks very much for the link Kate, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had to take a screen capture, then ask my husband if it really said what I thought it did.
With your readers, expect CTV to change the screen very quickly.

  3. That de-penises Dion.
I’d almost feel sorry for him. Then again, not really. The Nancy boy who throws mud gets sand kicked in his face. Hahahahahaha

  4. Funny, yet frightening.
Remember the Bob Rae days? Big debt, no prob, take some more tax payer paid days off you poor over worked civil servants you.
If he’s ever given the helm the national debt will quadruple by the end of two years.

  5. “take some more tax payer paid days off you poor over worked civil servants you.”
He couldn’t keep his so-called union friends in line and they did everything they could to undermine his government. It was a typical rae solution and i don’t think he’s learned much.

  6. Classic! A “Lloydian slip” for sure! Lloyd was doing that ‘happy’ wiggle in his seat last night announcing the Liberal ‘victories’, and so sad when he had to admit they lost the Sask seat.
“take some more tax payer paid days off you poor over worked civil servants you.”
Do you realise that in health care that made the situation worse? He could tell a pencil pusher in a ‘ministry office’ to take the day off, and no one would notice. But tell a nurse or tech to take the day off(without pay) and admin had to find another employee to take their place…duh!!Those were Rae Days in Ontario!!
I can only hope that this ‘appointment’ of Rae (by CTV) as ‘leader’ will wake up Ontario voters.

  7. CTV has not changed it even at this time so it must be intentional. I think the message they are trying to portray can be seen by the use of “Liberal leader” (which they use) vs. “Liberal Leader” (which they do not use).
ET has displayed her thoughts on what the Liberal strategy is going to be. If her analysis is accurate, then CTV is simply advancing the Liberal message that Rae is one of the “leaders” of the so-called Liberal “Dream Team”.
Normally other terms such as “high-profile Liberal” or something similar are used. The real test will be if the same caption (Liberal leader) is applied to other Liberals who are part of the “Dream Team” and whether Dion is referred to as “a Liberal leader” or as “the Liberal Leader”. I suppose another question could be why is CTV so accomodating in this message – but then, we already knew the answer to that one.
My own impression of Dion’s leadership abilities is that as long as he remains as Liberal Leader, the rest should be better known as the “Dream-On Team”. I sure hope he stays as Liberal Leader for quite some time to come.

  8. If the possibility of Rae as PM doesn’t finally push Alberta to separate from Canada finally nothing will. Hey, I live in Ontario and the rubes in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver will elect this clown to destroy our country once and for all.

  9. seems like a perfect opening for PMSH to answer Bob Raes first question by addressing him as the leader of the Liberals and honourable member for CTV.

  10. I figure it was intentional, before reading Brent Weston’s comment.
Now that Saviour Rae is on the scene, the MSM will treat Little Dion the way they do Prime Minister Stephen Harper: It’ll be one put down and indignity after the other, all the quicker to get their Librano Messiah where they want him: Leader of the LPoC, then Prime Minister.
‘Back to three hour lunches on the taxpayer and a Senate Seat.
    Ahhhhhh…that’s better…

  11. CTV is living in a dreamworld and broadcasting it’s dreams. CBC and CTV are Toronto centric and Boob Rae is their dream candidate to go up against Harper.
I say bring him on and all the political baggage along with him.

  12. How to broadcast your agenda…if CTV has picked red Bob as LPC leader does this mean ex-leader Dion will be covering CTV sports?

  13. Further proof of Hogtown’s view of the world that they treat Ottawa as simply another level of municipal govt. with which, they do as they please.
I liked the recent stat that Toronto GTA has a bigger earthly footprint than the total area of all the Alberta oilsands plants put together so far.
News flash – Frying pan calls kettle black.

  14. Daverbonz: “Hey, I live in Ontario and the rubes in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver will elect this clown to destroy our country once and for all.”
    NO … WE … WILL … NOT!

  15. In case any of us thought we were being too hard on MSM, thinking maybe it seemed biased toward the Libs yesterday, Joel at PTBC has an analysis of yesterdays ‘news’.
    We weren’t imagining.
I would like to see a Press Conference of some kind WRT the by-elections from PMSH tho.

  16. I think the media bias is the worst I have ever seen in my political lifetime (which is about a decade). But on the bright side
    1) it does not seem to be swaying Canadians.
    2) it is probably a sign of desperation.

  17. The Liberal leader Rae is a socialist. He talks the wealthy socialist’s talk of warm and fuzzy.
For now Rae concentrated on talk to the locals in the riding, it seem to have worked, though if you promise freebees to the welfare crowd you have ready made votes.
Apparently there is also a rich neighborhood, from previous conversations there are those rich that will vote for socialists if the socialists let them keep their riches and make them famous in the process.
There are those rich for whom the fame is important more then decency.
There is nothing wrong with those other rich that made their money by hard work.
Now the machinery gets going on making Rae a saint. The Canadian media are on the job, it will all work out in the end.
The press agents of Liberals, the CBC and basically the eastern media is in the gear to do the propaganda.
It remains to be seen, how many people will get sucked in by the socialist smooth talkers.

  18. The LPC Long March to the Left continues. First Martin, then Dion, now Rae. In our cities.

  19. I bet that Maurice Strong, Bob Rae calls him Uncle Mo by the way, is smiling now that little Bobby is the unofficial Liberal Leader.
Then again those oh so liberal, Liberal voting Muslims can’t be too happy. He is married to an evil Jooo after all.

  20. BREAKING-ctv.ca
    “Rae No Longer Liberal Leader”
Duffy’s interview Title has been fixed

  21. The Liberal strategy, I think, is to deal with Dion’s weak/non-existent leadership by switching to the concept of Team Leadership versus Single Leader.
They’ll promote Team Leadership as a Sign-Of the Liberal collegiality, capacity-to-collaborate, to get along with Others, etc etc.
They’ll promote Leadership (single) as deviant, dictator, totalitarian and etc, etc.
It’s a very clever tactic of dealing with the reality that their Leader is an incompetent Nerd.
Watch what happens. Dion will be removed to the BackRoom Thinking Room, ie, the Seminar Room. He’ll be kept reasonably quiet; he thinks silently. The upfront verbalizing guys dealing with the public will be, first, Rae. Then Findlay, Ignatieff and Goodale. This Set will be the Primary Team.
Rae will be the first of the team because his Public Face is smooth, joking, pretending-to-be-one of the guys. He’s smug and has to fight to keep that smugness down. But, his smooth, welcoming warmth will be very attractive to the general public. Next will be Findlay, as talk, talk, postmodern talk. Then, Ignatieff, who is too stern, and Goodale too angry. They are the First Team.
The next set will be the ‘rat pack’ of Mark Holland, Szabo, Rodgriguez, etc etc.
The Toronto MSM – CTV, City, CBC, etc all love Bob Rae. Their delight at his election was overwhelming. The many comments on SDA that ‘Ontarians won’t forget Rae’s deficits’ are red herrings. Of course they have forgotten.
It was 15 years ago, and Harris, who came after and had to clean up the massive deficits by cutting all those glorious social service programs – he’s the one who is vilified. Think- fifteen years ago; people who were 15 then are now in their 30s. They don’t remember Rae. The massive immigration into Toronto in the 15 years – those people don’t know Rae’s Deficits.
So, the Liberal image of Friendly to Immigrants, and Big Government, works in Toronto. Because Toronto has the highest proportion of immigrants in the country. And, Ontario and Toronto have a workforce that is massively dependent on government jobs: health care, education, civil service, security, social services etc etc. These people are focused on their jobs, pensions and benefits. All from the govt. They’ll vote Liberal because of those jobs and their unions.

  22. Slightly OT (been out of the country and just catching up) but according to the Liberal Party Monday’s election was coined a victory, what better example of Liberalism is a mental disorder. If Dion had been in charge at the time Moscow and Waterloo would have been French victories, (oops they were!)

  23. If you think the “Dion: not a leader” ads worked (and they did,) just wait until you have “Rae-Days: going federal” to run on.
Just wait until the stock footage of all those union protests, the destroyed economy (a made-in-Ontario recession) and all the other goodies from the Ontario NDP rule than near-destroyed the province.
Although, the effect of this will be muted by McShifties push over the edge. Even Rae might look good if McShifty keeps up his idiocy.

  24. Strange that we have not heard a peep from Buzz & the Gang on the coming of the new Liberal Saviour. Iam sure that they have some fond memories that they could share.

  25. ET,
You’re right in that the majority of people in Ontario won’t remember (although you’d be surprised at how many will.)
That’s why it’s up to the CPC to remind them.
I think it would be fair to remind all those in Ontario who can’t find a doctor that it was Bob Rae who closed down all the med-school spots and fired the nurses the leftards blame Harris for firing.
There is plenty of ammo. Enough to gun down an army of leftards.

  26. “I think it would be fair to remind all those in Ontario who can’t find a doctor that it was Bob Rae who closed down all the med-school spots and fired the nurses” — this is a big one. I regularly run into Liberal/left supporters who blame Harris. Actually, it is sometimes astonishing to discover what the Liberals/left do not know about their own policies, deceptions and missteps. In Ottawa Liberals blocked land purchase for a local hospital — reminded of this just a few months later, one Liberal thought I was crazy for stating this as “Liberals would never do such a thing” — these people really are not paying much attention. This is the big concern re Rae — people are not paying enough attention to what he and the rest of the Liberal party actually stand for.

  27. repeat the MSM mantra
    Mike Harris is the enemy,
four legs good, Bob Rae better.
four legs good, Bob Rae better

  28. ..is there anybody still not convinced that there is a concerted effort to drive the Liberal party far left?
At what point will the cadres of the Liberal party start referring to each other as ‘comrades’?
As the saying goes, you ain’t seen noth’in yet , baby!

  29. We will know the true extent of CTV’s admiration for Rae if Pablo Rodriguez stands up in Question Period and reads awkwardly from an English script:
“Will the Honourable Member from Toronto Centre please explain how he got to be so totally awesome?”

  30. ET makes a compelling point about shuffling Dion into the corner and promoting a “Liberal team”:
Maybe they’ll call it “Team Canada”, and put them all (including former goalie Ken Dryden) in white hockey jerseys emblazoned with red maple leafs and run them around the country talking about bringing back the “good-old days” of Trudeaupia.
The Liberals have no vision for the prosperity and good of the country, so they might just go back to their policies that failed the country three decades ago.

  31. ET, your analysis is bang on. The Lieberals are masters at running campaigns that promise everything, attack and belittle anyone in their way and DELIVER nothing once they are in power.
I remember what Rae did to Ontario but agree that the immigrants in Toronto don’t really care even if they were here then. Their focus is on Harper changing the immigrant admittance to qualified people rather than reuniting their families with their relatives and particularly their parents moving immediately onto our health care system. The immigrant goal will be to get the Lieberals back into power and get the gravy train flowing again. With multiculturalism their focus is on their tribe and Canada is only a welfare ticket.
Remember LindaL liberals are driven by emotion so facts and history hold no interest or relevance for them. They just don’t care.

  32. Sorry ET, but I must disagree. Ontario has not forgotten what Rae did. It comes up in conversation all of the time(even when I am working in Toronto). Couple that with the realization that chimpy mcliar is running this province into have-not status(and the corresponding drop in real estate values) and all bets are off.
It is up to the canvassers for the CPC to ensure this message gets across.
I know I am up for it.
    Are you?

  33. kingstonlad
But the voters in Ontario just put the lying fraud McGuinty back in in a landslide!!
Are they crazy?… didn’t they know Ontario was sliding into the abyss of bankruptcy?… or was John Tory just that bad of a choice?

  34. Good point clair voyant, but I still agree with Kingstonlad that Ontarians, and Canadians, need to be reminded of Rae’s solutions while Premier. In fact, they seem a lot like McGuinty’s solutions. As the failure of Mcguintiism comes home to roost, watch for CPC to use Rae as the linchpin link between his NDP socialism and the top-down failure of McGuinty. Flaherty has already signalled the gloves are off.
The CPC has already written off GTA; they will focus on the 905 belt and beyond, and maybe the Kingston and the Islands oasis of collectivism.
Harper will seek his majority in the big cities like Montreal and Vancouver, while making a nominal effort to reach out to Atlantic Canada and GTA, knowing they will insist on being bribed for their votes. He doesn’t need them; especially if Jack Layton recovers for his coma and actually challenges the Red Green Alliance for “progressive” voters.

  35. I agree with Kingstonlad.
Toronto, based on the influx of newbies might not remember, but Ontario does.
Liberals are being painted into a corner. Toronto.
The Liberals might want to present ‘Team Liberal,’ to make up for their deficiencies, however, Dion is still the leader. If they get voted in, he’s the PM.
I’d say it’s a pretty lame and confusing strategy that would be ripped to shreds. For example, all the Conservatives have to counter with is – who’s the leader? Or, would the real leader please step up.
The Liberal brand continues to weaken. And Rae, the smooth silver haired talker, is only a short term bump for the current regime. He has a lot of socialist baggage that he can attempt to make light of, but the facts, the headlines and the news footage isn’t so concillatory.
Besides, the focus isn’t on him. And strategically, it better not be, as long as Dion is their candidate for PM.
On the other hand, Rae is calling their lack of representation, “strategic patience.” Patience until they have another leadership race and Fall 2009, I suspect.

  36. When the voters of Ontario voted in a known blatant Liar with a majority they may as well have announced to all they’re morally bankrupt brain dead idiots.
Toronto is a write off for it’s brain free Liberal brand voting and Rae is in safe harbour there along with Iggy and M-H Findlay. Liberal is the brand that gets one elected in Toronto.
Ontario won’t know what hit it after the weasel liar McGuinty puts in his four years at the helm.
Flaherty is getting all the flak from the media for telling it like it is with McGuinty so we know it’s the truth. Ontario may need a little spell on the skids to make better choices at the ballot box.
Anyone heard anything on the adult diaper report from Smitherman? Any more news on the closing of coal fired plants?
