Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Good editorial in the National Post on the Liberals continuing affiliation with the Tamil Tigers.
You got your analysis of Pakistan backwards, Kate. Here’s why propping up Musharraf’s dictatorship will empower, not keep at bay, Islamic extremism in Pakistan.
You must have me confused with someone else. I haven’t offered “my analysis” of Pakistan.
School shooting in Finland.
Particularly relevant was this line from msnbc:
“Despite having the third-largest per capita ratio of handgun ownership in the world, violent incidents are rare at Finnish schools.”
What, are they surprised or something?

The New Fellow Travelers (Anne Applebaum’s On The Latest Chapter In Communism’s Useful Idiots Alert)
Ninety years ago this week, a Bolshevik mob stormed the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, arrested the provisional government, and installed a “dictatorship of the proletariat” in its place. Though the Russian revolution is no longer widely celebrated (not even by the Russians, who instead commemorate the expulsion of the Poles from Moscow in 1612), I felt it important to mark the occasion. In honor of the anniversary, I reread Ten Days That Shook the World, the famed account of the revolution written by John Reed, the American journalist and fellow-traveler. Then I reread last week’s press reports of the recent encounter between Hugo Chávez, the Venezuelan President, and Naomi Campbell, the famed British supermodel.
Just as I’d remembered, Reed’s book superbly transmits the breathless energy of the autumn of 1917—”Adventure it was, and one of the most marvelous mankind ever embarked upon, sweeping into history at the head of the toiling masses”—as well as his own fascination with, and approval of, the violence he sees around him. After attending a mass funeral, he understands, he writes, why the Russians no longer need religion: “On earth they were building a kingdom more bright than any heaven had to offer, and for which it was a glory to die.” By contrast, he is abashed when he has to explain that in America people try to change things by law—a state of affairs that his new Russian comrades find “incredible.”
Fast forward 90 years, and surprisingly little has changed. …-

That’s because – unlike the vast majority in Canadian paid media – I don’t presume to analyze matters I’m not qualified to speak on. But whatever floats your boat, I suppose – I can give you directions to the Toronto Star if uninformed commentary is what you seek.
Travelled to my home province of Sask over the weekend. Those roads certainly lived up to their hype! The road between St. Walburg and Loon Lake should make any NDP voter hang their head in shame. My husband (Alberta-raised) said, “Remind me where we are again? Is this Afghanistan or Iraq we’re driving in?”. Glad we were using a rental car and not our own! Learned that many of my extended family are volunteering for the Sask Party. Everyone feels change in the air!
Was happy to see Sask Party signs everywhere, including one for Jeremy Harrison, formerly MP for northern Sask until Liberal Gary Merasty “won” the riding in Jan 2006.

Add two more names to the liberal as*hats who attended the Tamil Tigers vigil..
According to Jim Karygiannis, Derek Lee (Scarborough – Rouge River) and Yasmin Ratansi (Don Valley East), also attended.
Are these people new? Or is it just another example of the liberals continuing love affair with terrorists?
Grembowski, you don’t get it — do ya ??
Kate, from Aug 2 2007 — says it all;
“And you think bloggers, sitting in their basements, with no education, no training as researchers, no money and no expertise are going to give you factual answers to those questions?”
Posted by: Mark Bourrie
Mark – I posted a quote that gave you an explicit example of the information firehose that is available to media, if they only would turn on the valve.
It’s a template developed and proven effective by bloggers – and somehow you still didn’t notice it before you wrote.
In other words, “It’s the readers, stupid.” Bloggers give their audience a voice. They open their pages to instant correction, revision, context, opinion, experience, eyewitness reports and technical expertise.
The audience has always had at their disposal knowledge, information and experience that outstrips the resources of the best funded MSM outlet by several orders of magnitude. Until the internet came along, the ability of that information to poke above the filter was minimal – if you were lucky, a heavily edited letter to the editor might appear. Or a small correction placed deep in the back pages.
Today, that’s no longer the case, and it’s one reason for the collapse of circulation. The people who once read a story and noted glaring errors of fact are now comparing notes with thousands of others, and coming to some pretty basic conclusions: the industry is deeply flawed. It is not a reliable source of information and often willfully devoid of context.
Until mainstream news realizes what has happened and makes the changes necessary to improve the quality of their product, more people will simply drift away and rely less and less on traditional reporting for their information. That’s neither better or worse. It’s a consequence of industry malpractice.

I heard Karygiannis on the radio this moring. The man is an absolute disgrace – he will side with anything that smells like a potential vote.
He denied up and down that Tamil Canadians are being intimidated by members of their own community, even after Tamils themselves mention it.
Listening to the 29 year old woman who was suspended from the Afghani government council, these are some of the points she made during her CBC interview.
So long as the criminals, war lords and even one Taliban member wearing their shirt and tie democracy camouflage are allowed to remain in government, there is no real hope for democracy and freedom in Afghanistan.
Karzi is not to be trusted and uses crocodile tears on cue to maintain Western aid and sympathy.
Many bad guys in the government are involved with big scale drug trading and even some children trafficking in outlying districts.
This is from an insider. A 29 year old woman who pressed for honesty and fairness in the Afghani government. Her life is at risk for speaking out.
The road ahead for Afghanistan looks very bumpy. = TG

maz2: RE: “Dollar Collapse”
Hardly a collapse, managed decline would be a more likely explanation.
Given the US economy calling card is manufacturing excellence, this puts them toe to toe going forward with the emerging economies of India and China.
This is merely setting the stage for future competitiveness in the decades going forward.
The US economy is hardly going into the basket anytime soon.
Though wartime spending on defense has hurt the dollar temporarily, this is not an unknown phenomena given WWII spending habits. The war on Islamic extremism will continue, but it will eventually abate, as is already evident in places like Anbar province of Iraq.
The Russians and Chinese are well aware of the phenomena of Islamic extremism, but are content to build out their economies and let others do the ‘heavy lifting’ of keeping it in check.
Had Islamic extremists flown planes into the Duma or the National Peoples Congress their attitudes to this problem would be considerably different.
But hey, eating someone else’s ‘free lunch’ is just doing business!

Health care hypocrisy: two more examples
Re: Queue Jumpers At The Ministry Of Health, Nov. 3.
“…Earlier this year, I encountered a fellow physician from Ottawa who told me how she contracted with the Department of National Defence at an hourly rate somewhat over 40% higher than OHIP paid. She was delighted to add this also covered paperwork. I asked her if she thought this constituted two-tier medicine. She replied that it was all covered by legislation. “The politicians and generals and officials who tell the rest of us what we may have passed a law allowing themselves more, at our expense,” so she felt it was quite legal and “outside of” the Canada Health Act….She went on to tell me how firmly she believed in the Canada Health Act “for everyone else.” Just not for her….”
Dr. F.W. Furlong, Toronto
“….It is one thing for apologists for our flawed medical system to insist that maintaining the status quo trumps the rights of individual patients. It is quite another thing when these same people find themselves waiting in interminably long lines. And when these people are unable to jump the queue, notwithstanding their influence, they contact our organization. Over the years we have expedited private medical procedures for physicians, RNs and politicians. We recently expedited a medical procedure for the wife of a provincial deputy minister of health…”

Human life is not sacred. Humans are just a species among other animals and world does not exist only for humans. Death is not a tragedy, it happens in nature all the time between all species. Not all human lives are important or worth saving. Sometimes I feel like no one is really worth of life at all.
Due to long process of existential thinking, observing the society I live and some other things happened in my life… I have come to the point where I feel nothing but hate against humanity and human race.

He wrote another online profile at rapidshare.com:
I have had enough. I don’t want to be part of this f*cked up society. Like some other wise people have said in the past, human race is not worth fighting for or saving… only worth killing. But… When my enemies will run and hide in fear when mentioning my name… When the gangsters of the corrupted governments have been shot in the streets… When the rule of idioracy and the democratic system has been replaced with justice… When intelligent people are finally free and rule the society instead of the idiocratic rule of majority… In that great day of deliverance, you will know what I want.
…
I can’t alone change much but hopefully my actions will inspire all the intelligent people of the world and start some sort of revolution against the current systems. The system discriminating naturality and justice, is my enemy. The people living in the world of delusion and supporting this system are my enemies.
I am ready to die for a cause I know is right, just and true… even if I would lose or the battle would be only remembered as evil… I will rather fight and die than live a long and unhappy life.
And remember that this is my war, my ideas and my plans. Don’t blame anyone else for my actions than myself. Don’t blame my parents or my friends. I told nobody about my plans and I always kept them inside my mind only. Don’t blame the movies I see, the music I hear, the games I play or the books I read. No, they had nothing to do with this. This is my war: one man war against humanity, governments and weak-minded masses of the world! No mercy for the scum of the earth! HUMANITY IS OVERRATED! It’s time to put NATURAL SELECTION & SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST back on tracks!

CTVTass and CBCPravda have totally ignored the story about 6 Liberal MPs attending the funeral of a Tamil terrorist in Toronto.
However, CTVTass did find space on their news web page for a special feature about “Omar Khadr detention timeline”
The only MSM media outlet that has followed the Liberal-terrorism story is the National Post.

By Link Byfield
There’s something extraordinarily pleasant about a House of Commons controlled by the Conservatives.
These Conservatives, anyway.
After seventy years of constitutional derailment by sanctimonious Liberals and socialists, one feels an almost punitive glee in watching Stephen Harper humiliate all those parties which caused the wreck.
Canada joined the great global forced march into nanny-statism and misguided utopianism when it allowed the Liberals and CCF/NDP to ignore our constitutional checks and balances.
For the past three generations, individuals and whole regions have assumed the right to live off the efforts of others. Governments today must preserve everyone in a comfortable living, a feeling of equality, and the enduring delusion they’re in good hands with all-state.
As Albert Dicey pointed out long ago, liberal democracies that take their constitutions seriously are invariably conservative. Those that don’t aren’t. They become tyrannies of irresponsible entitlement. […]
The skill, patience and determination with which Harper is pursuing it are impressive. If he keeps it up, he will make Canada – or allow it to become – a conservative country.

Michael Yon email via Instapundit
THANKS AND PRAISE: Michael Yon emails:
“I photographed men and women, both Christians and Muslims, placing a cross atop the St. John’s Church in Baghdad. They had taken the cross from storage and a man washed it before carrying it up to the dome. A Muslim man had invited the American soldiers from ‘Chosen’ Company 2-12 Cavalry to the church, where I videotaped as Muslims and Christians worked and rejoiced at the reopening of St John’s, an occasion all viewed as a sign of hope. The Iraqis asked me to convey a message of thanks to the American people. ‘Thank you, thank you,’ the people were saying. One man said, ‘Thank you for peace.’ Another man, a Muslim, said ‘All the people, all the people in Iraq, Muslim and Christian, is brother.’ The men and women were holding bells, and for the first time in memory freedom rang over the ravaged land between two rivers. (Videotape to follow.)”
Let’s hope these sentiments continue to spread….-

Dentists Association Protest.
Just back from the dentist [ Canada ] today. Admittedly, this is being written while I am fully steamed about it.
First appointment for severe pain in October . Solution; Root Canal, but first clean and encase tooth. $500. Next appointment one month later November 6th/07
Second appointment for root canal. Much drilling and exploring through the installed tooth case but no Root Canal. $490
Dentist informs nurse the next appointment… [does not speak to me directly], December 5th , is for a crown. A crown? How did that come about. I*m here for a Root Canal and there is decay on the surface of an adjacent tooth that needs attention.
So let*s summarize here. Two Dentist visits for a Root Canal. $990 spent on one tooth with a potential cost of $750 or more for a crown on the next visit while adjacent decay is untreated and still no Root Canal! The dentist seems to be very expert technically yet with the help of xrays did admit he could not find the root after all. $1740 on one bad tooth? No can do!
My protest is mostly with the monolithic Dental association who guarantee that ALL dentists charge the very highest possible fees and prohibit novice dentists from charging a penny less or face being barred from dentistry in Canada. I checked with a junior, [novice] dentist.
If only half my teeth need attention, mostly the upper 16, the total would come to $27.840. That*s the price of a new car.
Animal Vets also enjoy the power of the *Association*, the syndicate, the combine. Animal health costs have skyrocketed to levels higher than health care for humans. Do we pay $100 each for our xrays? Our Lab/Border had hip xrays. $100 each.
We advertised for two months before we found a home financially sound enough to afford keeping our dog. The SPCA was a distant second choice
There should be an SPCA for teeth. I can not afford the maintenance costs relating to my cavity prone teeth. Regular and careful brushing is simply not enough to preserve those molars.
Advice: Be sure to have a solid dental plan going before you retire.
Not being a sheeple, it is my right to protest practices that are unfair from essential services professionals when they ensure no lower cost competitive alternate choice is allowed.
Dentists; Do you think I am being unfair here? = TG
PS: Previous [different] dentist installed a crown over sloppy tooth preparation. = $750 ^ months later the crowned tooth had to be removed. = $250. Summary: $1000 and no tooth. Where is the justice?
TG, that is a good start for a medical deduction next April.

I understand that the Liberals and, particularly, the Ontario Liberals, are fluent practitioners of ethnic politics, which is why so many of them show up at terrorist rallies. But I wonder why their favourite ethnic organization is the “Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam” (LTTE). Do they just see the initials and, being spelling-challenged, think that if they attend they will be served loads of their favourite hot beverage?

”
I am glad to see that people are coming around to see the sham that Al Gore is. As an engineer and a scientific person, I cannot stomach any of the lies in his award winning masterpiece of deception. I hope people will also wake up and see that right-wing citizens are not what they have been portrayed as for the last 40 years and if you actually listen to them you might realize the majority of their beliefs are based in rational thought and common sense.”
