  1. I’m increasingly failing to understand the liberal-left’s (and the European fashion industry is liberal – left) embrace of Islam in all facets of society but Christianity is to be seen as the malevolent socio-pathological pariah that needs to be eliminated from this planet. Simply stunning!
I guess Mennonite, Hutterite and Amish fashions don’t carry the same explosive presence on the runway as Muslim style masters .
These same people would have put anorexic women in brown shirts and swastikas 70 years ago if it meant product advancement.

  2. If the lady in the picture were to say something, I imagine it’d be something like:
“We are Borg. We will assimilate you. Discussion is irrelevant. Resistance is futile. Submit or we’ll wage jihad against you…”
Hope that’s not too politically incorrect!

  3. hey now the girls can look “tres chic” when they join the male jihadis at the local Parisian suburban Car-B-Que

  4. Hey – I think it’s fine. When something moves from being a fundamentalist religious symbol to an ephermeral fashion statement – that moves that symbol from authoritarian requirement to individual choice. A choice based on appearance, not on religious or social obligation. I’m OK with that.

  5. All the women depicted would be condemned for immodesty in a sharia court…the fashon world’s flirt with Islam is as superfiacial as most of their “themed” trends.
Champagne liberals feigning “enlightened tolerance” of an intolerant theocracy.

  6. That’s just what I was thinking, ET. I’ve always held that the only way for western civilization to defeat the current crop of barbarians is to corrupt them in the same way we have the previous crops of barbarians. After all, it’s worked well so far.
Why yes, one of the definitions of corrupt is “to change the original form of”. That’s why I tried to pick some examples of good-looking women in nice dresses that were included in that line-up. They have a wonderful corrupting effect.

  7. I see one problem right away. Not to be worn anytime there is a risk of eating or drinking. Perhaps – as WLM points out – the champagne is to be strained through the balaclava.
Velcro flap, or invisible zipper might have been a handy functional addition. Perhaps the unit comes with a tube system that we can’t detect.

Biff, it could be as simple as Europeans will ultimately be wearing burqas and know it. We’ve got punk gansta rappers here, ahead of their own curve wearing prison couture – the slobs seem to end up doing time in the Big House – why not get a headstart on dhimmi couture in Europe.
You’ve got to hand it to the European left, their anti-American moonbat’s in their urban guerilla couture are never caught dead without the right wardrobe. It’s all about style with them.
Waiting for the first multi-culti lefty moron, who would never live under those circumstances, to tell me what a racist I am……..

  9. I think this fashion is going to catch on. So do a lot of petty thieves and bank robbers. It’ll be handy to walk out of the bank with a bag of money shoved under your coat and walk away with your mask on amongst a sea of similarly clad figures

  10. Anyone recall what–ahem–“religion” was behind piracy two hundred some years ago?
    Are’nt pirates chic now too?

  11. Disturbing, but the world of fashion will grab anthing for a little attention. I don’t think the fashion business really wants to cover up all the high priced cheek bones and legs. And there’s that bouncy stuff, too. that’s the kind of attention that lasts and lasts.

  12. As Shaken said its abject surrender. Why the left know toes to the Islamists is their love of the death cult they share, as well as politics. The hate in common for the West or capitalism with individual rights.
Particularly the idea of any free, educated, independant, smart, Women of enterprise. In both one is controlled by a real patriarchy, the other bound by feminism. As for religion both are forming their own. With due penalties for unbelievers.
If they ever take over, one thing you Ladies will not have too worry about. That being the mad rush to put on makeup. Under a tent who needs it? I wonder when that will appear in Cosmo or on Opra?

  13. I think some are putting too much importance on this. most realize that these fashion statements are just that. Do you honestly think that someone would think because of a formfitting burka style was shown that the imams would suddenly embrace it and at the same time ignore the let-it-all-hang-out style on page 99 or 110? Designers push the limits to get attention and recognition. Well, they certainly got attention here.

  14. It is interesting, I think, when considering cultures and fashions, to compare this classic Mae West version of Willie of the Valley – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpwdFopCnpA – with this footage of the famous Turkish belly dancer, Elcin – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fck9Y2t5GTY – Cultural history runs deep, no?
(It occurs to me that those links might not be safe for work, depending on your context, so viewer discretion is advised. And, no, I can’t dance like Elcin, thank you for asking.)

  15. A bit too revealing, shows too much facial contour and allows for identity. Wouldn’t disguise enough even for Halloween.
Good cover in case of epidemic however.
If they want to walk around hiding out in tents, ignore them, what else can we do, it’s obviously what they want. To hell with them.

  16. All the cosmetic firms should be in a panic. Who needs that stuff when wearing these outfits.
What is the matter with people. I have often said that the designers of womens clothes and shoes have to be escaped mental patients hiding out. Could a sane peson be that stupid. Can’t wait to see Hillory on the campaign trail in this outfit. Will all 103 liberal female candidates be required to wear them. Anyone checked out the lifeguard gear for males and females on the beach in Australia.

  17. A second look and they are very similar to the outfits worn by the Knights of the Round Table.
All that is missing is the swords, in case one needs to be beheaded.

  18. The whole point of wearing the chador or burqua is modesty, and to cover up what might be enticing or seductive to men other than one’s husband.
So, how does this work when you make the chador or burqua enticing or seductive???
Most times when I see a woman in Alberta wear the hijab, it just looks like a Ukranian baba wearing her babushka. For those who don’t know what is, it’s basically a kerchief covering her hair….same thing….only it’s an old Ukranian woman with the old country ideas, not some 20-something….or 9-year-old who’s told to cover up because she’s become seductive to old men.
    We know what that’s called.

  19. Yes indeed, Texas Canuck, some of the photos are contrapuntal, as it were (I just noticed that my original selection 78 is now 85, so I don’t think there’s much point in quoting ordinality any more). It’s a shame that so many people are quick to comment without actually examining the source material. People complain that the media is hoodwinking them, and then they don’t even bother to study the material that actually is presented. No wonder they’re being hoodwinked, it’s a seller’s market.

  20. Hot,hot, hot. And to think I always wanted to be a Mormon.Where do I get a membership to this Islamic thing?

  21. In today’s Post there’s a picture of three Muslim women that attended the “peacemaking mission” in Herouxville Que. All three of course wearing the hijab which they wear, among other reasons, to protect them from male gaze. And all three wearing make-up!! Three beautiful Muslim women wearing their head dress… and lots of make-up!!
    Conflicted are we?

  22. Is everyone here seriously that threatened by a piece from a fashion show that has absolutely no effect on any of our lives? You guys should be talking about the real threats, like gay marriage and abortion.

  23. What I find funny is that the “sh’aria-inspired” outfits are all KNIT! FORM-HUGGING KNIT! And the the one in the close-up seems to have a seperate color outlining the breasts! Yeah, that’s really going to go over well with the burkha imposers.

  24. Good for them…..fashion by definition is a fleeting….blink and the trend disappears….and I like it because it perverts the original purpose, fashion driven instead of religon driven. You should cheer the fahion industry as it tries to coopt Islamism (as opposed to Islam)….and thus defang it. All individualistic ideas will do that.
Women can wear or not wear what they want….my only issue is when they are bullied into it, either way by family, community or media.

  25. That actually looks like some kind of BDSM knitwear – I can easily imagine it with a li’l hose and pump extending from the mouth area…

  26. Dudley Morris:
    ROFL !!
Almost choked on my coffee reading that.
I’m sure you’ll see a variant thereof if you go to Northbound Leather in Toronto. Give it time… 😀
