Or buy from enemy propogandists. Patterico;
Last Friday, my reader Tom Blumer sent me a link to an interesting blog post, by a blog called “One Oar in the Water,” which attacked the L.A. Times story about the Ramadi airstrike. The post quoted what purported to be an e-mail from a soldier who was involved in the Ramadi incident. The e-mailing soldier claimed that the “Times correspondent in Ramadi” has ties to the insurgency, and is knowingly repeating enemy propaganda:
The [L.A. Times article] is an example of why you simply cannot believe most media reports coming out of Iraq. The LA Time[s] reporter, Solomon Moore, is not in Ramadi. He relies on an Iraqi stringer here who has ties to insurgents. In this article, Moore repeats almost verbatim, insurgent propaganda we have intercepted. The fighting in question occurred in my battle space within Ramadi and I was personally and intimately involved.
The soldier then disputed certain assertions made in the L.A. Times article. The soldier said that there had been no airstrike, and that only a few insurgents had been killed, by small-arms fire and tank fire.
It’s a long post, and carefully researched.

Fighting back: the city determined not to become al-Qaeda’s capital.
While the world’s attention has been focused on Baghdad’s slide into sectarian warfare, something remarkable has been happening in Ramadi, a city of 400,000 inhabitants that al-Qaeda and its Iraqi allies have controlled since mid-2004 and would like to make the capital of their cherished Islamic caliphate.
A power struggle has erupted: al-Qaeda’s reign of terror is being challenged. Sheikh Sittar and many of his fellow tribal leaders have cast their lot with the once-reviled US military. They are persuading hundreds of their followers to sign up for the previously defunct Iraqi police. American troops are moving into a city that was, until recently, a virtual no-go area. A battle is raging for the allegiance of Ramadi’s battered and terrified citizens and the outcome could have far-reaching consequences.

Does Freedom-of-the-Press mean free to; lie, make-up stories, slander, support covert actions, mislead, …. Are they also free of liable laws ??

You forgot: champion faulse Liberal causes such as environmentalism and gun control. Freedom of the press indeed!
All things considered, I would view the L.A.Times article as pure and simple propaganda, and not reporting at all. If one were to consider the information given by the soldier and other sources, the incident was one of many in a time of war, with very little story value. Somehow there needs to be some separation put between reporting and fictional writing.
salim mansur has a nice column in the Toronto Sun today, outlining that the basic problem in Iraq right now, is a medieval primitive mindset, of ancient tribal mythic beliefs and hatreds, which are being ‘unleashed and unloaded’. These have nothing to do with any western gov’t; they are completely internal.
At some time, these tribal hatreds have to be dealt with; either the Islamic people remain locked into their isolate hate-each-other tribes, kept in check only within repressive dictatorships – or- they mature as a people and move out of tribalism and into collaborative civil development. It’s their choice.
E.T., that may well be the problem in the Middle East, but what is the problem in Canada and the U.S.? The article in the L.A. Times is probably as destrucyive to our civilization as the civil war in Iraq is to theirs. Basically the article is an attempt to turn us against ourselves, using their freedom to destroy ours, biting the hand that feeds them, etc, etc, etc. I can’t think of one thing “good” about it!
This is why the MSM must help protect Muslims: Here’s a good pic of a vicious Canadian Crusader, constantly perpetrating horrible crimes:

Dirty infidel…
This pic shows why Muslims must fight the Canadians unto death, and why the MSM must help them.
Nothing on Kate’s blog about Jim Flaherty’s financial update and his pie-in-the-sky outlook.
I guess it wasn’t a news story this week.
It’s no surprise, really. If Kate has nothing good to say about the Tories, she says nothing at all.
She has no principle, no integrity. She’s revealed herself to be exactly what she (claimed to have) fought against before Jan. 23.
It’s kinda too bad in a way that the Libs weren’t re-elected, because had Goodale come up with this exact same fiscal update, everyone know that Kate would have an entry devoted to attacking it.
You go, girl.
Apparently you can’t read, “JALE” considering the off-topic nature of your comment.
The next time you want to raise a new item that hasn’t been mentioned in a formal post, follow the same rules everyone else does – use the readers tips entries. It’s more than any of the “progressive” bloggers offer.
Or start your own blog.
LGF, linking to (I think) a milblogger, and NewsBusters are reporting that the “Shiites being burned alive by Sunnis after being dragged from a mosque” is probably false, coming from a suspect source.
