…Since native protestors began occupying the Douglas Creek Estates development in February, police have been widely accused of turning a blind eye to lawbreakers, including those who dug up portions of the highway with a backhoe, lit tire fires and blocked the road…
…”There were physical assaults taking place in front of you and you can’t do anything about it. The OPP is a joke in terms of Caledonia. It has tarnished our name,” said an OPP officer who spoke to the Star on condition of anonymity…
…In one case, it is alleged more than a dozen officers stood by while two TV cameramen were beaten by protestors, and an elderly couple were swarmed in their car… In a separate clash that night, officers in riot gear arrested but did not charge a group of locals who gathered behind an elementary school backing onto the occupied site…

The citizens of Caledonia marched on the legislature today, saw Dalty. He just smiled and waved.
TO Star has it here…

Michael Coren said that he has received a ton of emails from OPP officers who are ashamed of the impotence imposed upon them by government.
Coren also mentioned how Dullton was at a $250/plate dinner with the gay community but is completely ignoring the people of Caledonia.
Political Correctness is killing this country–and the non-action by the OPP(not blaming the individual police, it is the ‘leadership’) has set this country back into the dark ages as far as law and order are concerned.
We cannot pick and choose which laws will apply to which special interest group. The law is the law or it is nothing–and I am afraid the law is nothing when it is not applied evenly.
This is jsut the beginning of a long, hot summer–and I hope we make it safely to winter. But I have my doubts. The example that has been set in Caledonia will be seized upon and repeated all across the country. God help us all.
I predict that this appeasement will lead to far more deaths than anything we have seen before.
The powers that be are feeding the fire, not putting it out.
It all goes back to 1995 when the OPP shot an unarmed native as they protested over a native burial ground. Premier Harris, noted for being a bully, had the OPP sitting in on one of his meetings on the matter. The OPP officer got the impression that Harris wanted them out now, right now.
The message was received and responded to by an officer killing a native. His family has been in the courts until just a matter of months ago. An OPP officer was found culpable. So I guess this latest native episode is the result. It is hear no evil, see no evil with regard to natives. It is unclear whether or not the present government is sending messages(aka interference) in police matters. We will have to wait for leaks.
Perhaps Mike Harris was noted for being a bully by left-wing bullies, but no sane person felt that way.
When Mikey was elected, the unions immediately rushed to Queen’s Park to assert their right to run the province. A near riot occurred and the OPP, they of the good old days, gave us Ontarians our first taste of “whack ’em and stack ’em.” I still have fond memories of seeing socialists go down after being hit upside the head with police batons.
Dudley George, like the native Caledonia thugs, was breaking the law, and while his death is a tragedy, he is partially responsible for it.
The Liberal and NDP parties have been on Harris’ tail on this not so much in order to see justice done but rather to make political hay.
And now the birds have come home to roost, and while the events in Caledonia are a disgrace, it is delicious in its own way to see Dullton McPinhead squirm and to know that his imminent defeat will come about because of this and the rest of his whole pathetic tenure.
Corporal Marcel LeMay: I bet Steve D and other socialist dopes never mention/think about him.
The provincial Libs practice a policy of appeasement while their federal counterparts AKA the party that can’t shoot/spell straight is celebrating National Aborginal Day.
Check it out at liberal.ca
I’m thinking that if you’re going to do some good old fashioned multi-culti sucking-up, you should at least try to get the spelling right.
Those clowns would surely f**k up the lords prayer. LOL!!!

He and his boss are both really Chamberlain kinds of guys and the Liberals are acting like a Chamberlain kind of government. One can only hope that eventually when enough people, and not some evil developer and a few rural bumbkins from Caledonia, are threatened with the loss of their rights, a Churchill kind of guy and a governtment infused with a Churchill kind of backbone may emerge.
It is interesting that the Indians are planning to attack whites elsewhere along the Grand River.
Probably down river though where its the same riding as that Caledonia is in (Haldimand-Norfolk). Its held provincially by a Conservative.
Up river starting not very far along from Caledonia, is the border of the Brant riding which is held by a Liberal. Therefore, I do not think the Indians’ will be foolish enough to attack up river.
The Liberals are not much on rule of law or protecting the rights of the public at large, but they sure know how to protect and succour their own supporters.
blame rests completely with ‘mikey six toes’ harris for ordering the swift resolution at ipperwash in 1995.
resulting in a dead unarmed protester and the fallout ever since. none of the opp want to be fingered for the spinelessness and stupidity of their bosses and utter failure of the politushuns to DEAL with the issue of native claims ONCE AND FOR ALL . one after the other until they can stand up and say ‘anyone else got a claim?’ and no one speaks up. until that day, there will continue to be ipperwashes, okas, and caledonias. the natives are restless, the honeymoon is over, the uncle toms wearing feathers are out of the way, DEAL WITH IT dear governments and STOP lieing and stealing and reneging on agreements and forcing them into isolated communities without so much as potable water.
Oh Bobster, some native sez you live on his land, and that’s good enough for me. Need help packing?
Ipperwash, Oka, blah blah, boo hoo. Had these people not been breaking the law, they would not be pushin’ up daisies.
Wake up. The blame goes to the terrorists and their ilk.
Why doesn’t anyone in this country take responsibility for their own stupidity anymore?
No potable water??? Interesting that the damn white man stole all the land and yet the poor indians want us to use our technology to give them fresh water? We pay millions for housing sewars and water that gets polluted because systems are not cared for properly and it is our fault? On one hand we are told to back off, that the natives were doing just fine and now it is our fault that they are sniffing glue, drinking dirty water and living in disgraceful housing. Who fixes my water system, who fixes my roof if I don’t take care of it? Maybe it is time for us to say put up or shut up. You work with us and we help each other or you go it on your own–you can not have it both ways. What happens when you foul up the land you are demanding through fake land claims–will we have to clean that up too? This is getting to silly for words.
Well said George. If the natives want to be left alone and be independant – an independant nation? then why must they take taxpayers dollars and live off the government?
I bet Steve D and other socialist dopes never mention/think about him.

could you possibly stop the ad hom. attacks matt? Steve D made a very good point. too bad you are filled with such hate. where’s kate to stop this? LOL
So do we have to put out educational credentials behind our name now? Or is that a tactic to try (unsucessfully) and intimidate the rest of us.
Potable water… Oh you mean that reserve that had the water treatment system but the native operators (trained at that) didn’t do their job?
Cry me a frikkin river, aboriginals sold land back in 1830 something and now they say it is theirs, paper trail be damned?
A native is a person, no better or no worse than the rest of the great unwashed. If someone needs a helping hand then yes help but after a few hundred years it is time to let them go. What about that feed a man a fish adage. It should certainly apply here. I know of metis and aboriginals that are actually embarassed of their heritage because of what the blood sucking welfare bums have done to it.
I’m minding the fort while Kate is gone, so keep it robust, but no name calling.
There are 4 idiots responsible for allowing this bullshot to continue. They are all Liberals what else!! Dalton McChicken, David PeterPrinciple, Monte Squinter and of course David Ramshackle. All Liberals, members of this Ontario Government who are afraid to make a decision regarding Caledonia. I say if a government is too cowardly to make the tough decisions they MUST STEP DOWN AND LET SOMEONE WHO CAN MAKE THE TOUGH DECISIONS DO THE WORK REQUIRED. This situation is abominable and the Provincial Liberals should not be let off the hook.
You four clowns should be ashamed of yourselves.
texas canuck BS
What? You are not a man of laws? We can sign treaties and then thumb our noses? Interesting.
Laws are only good when convenient. A lovely concept. You must know George Bush he’s a lot like that too.
Steve d: Keep the “personal” snide comments down… there’ve already been enough of those.
Steve D
They sold the land. They went to court and lost so now they are out commiting violent crimes to get want they could not get legally. It is not a treaty issue. To be honest if you have followed the issue closely it seems to be about finding a place to build a casino. Many native bands are well run, they hold peaceful protests and they look after their band members. It appears that this is not one of those bands.
I guess the only reality is that the law should apply equally. If the land claims are to be settled it has to be done by folks from both sides who can sit and talk and make sensible decisions that will work. Blockading roads, breaking laws, swarming old folks only serve to heat up the situation, and ensure that noone wants to talk about anything. The OPP officers at the scene are under orders. Be they wrong or right, its not so easy as that. These officers still need to survive after the situation is over. Can we no longer talk to each other with honor and respect, or do we all need to revert back to the laws of the jungle?
My grandson could get a treaty card and have his education paid for, guaranteed a job so quotas can be filled in Fr Mac, have his safety cert. paid for BUT HE WONT. He says he wants to do it on his own, and not have to spend the rest of his life being accused of only having a job, getting a promotion etc because he is metis.
The other comment I wanted to make was unfortunately if we are waiting for this Liberal bunch of supposed politicians to make a decision and take any action, we are in for a long wait. By breaking so many promises since being elected, I am surprised that people actually expected “The Dalton” to actually make any sort of decision that might or might not make a difference. The only option is to throw them all out at the next election. Unfortunately there are those who vote Liberal no matter what. These are the same fear mongers who will tell you a vote for a Conservative is a vote for anarchy. Somehow we need to let politicians know we are going to hold them responsible for their lies, and inactivity.
In case you missed the warning, I’ll have even less tolerance for trolling and sh*t disturbing while my guest bloggers are minding the place. They don’t need to babysit while they do me a favour.
I try to get online each night to free up pending comments and check on things. If I discover problems from any commentor, I’ll be more than willing to use the old heave ho.
Mary T that is a very positive attitude and approach. I have the utmost respect for anyone who wants to stand up and do it on his/her own. I would suspect this is the majority not the minority view. The First Nations of this country have much to be proud of, and much more to give to the success of this country. I only hope the few who resort to the tactics of Caledonia can be controlled.
The people of Caledonia probably regret not having guns at home now that the rule of law no longer applies. The Liberals made it a pain in the butt to own firearms, so now only the thugs are well armed and many Canadian citizens are defenceless. Perhaps the Canadians that live in Caledonia could organize themselves to form a government and start some kind of police force for protection.
ya. potable water. an exceptionally fundamental basic thing. you can live in tents or teepees most or your life you still need potable water. which the natives took out of the rivers and lakes until they were poisoned by the white man’s lust for resources.
did the natives demand to be shoved onto reservations and left with the clever excuse that whatever happens there is their fault?
when the fukc is ipperwash going to be finally returned to the natives? it was siezed from them during WW II for target practice manouvers. THAT war has been over for 60 years. whats the delay? ah, another broken promise, another reneged agreement.
did anybody appoint lawyers for the natives back in 1830 or did the white man back then hand pick the native ‘negotiators’ in order to make sure they would agree to all the white man’s terms? gee, has that ever happened before?
and yet again the potable water, one word: WALKERTON.
see what happens when the white man calls all the shots? first order of business when theres a fukup: blame the victim. when that fails, blame the patsy. when that fails, do a mikey six toes and stonewall.
etc etc etc.
this aint over by a long shot. my main premise still holds. when is da gubbamint going to FINALLY get a huge widely recognized one-after-the-other settlement once and for all with the land claims? what are they afraid of? there are hundreds of success stories where natives were weaned off handouts, lets keep doing that.
and no more residential schools allowed.
please provide a list of names of adult natives alive now that agreed at the time to go thru the residential school system and get beat up for using their own language in class.
etc etc etc. the list of grievances is staggering. if some of them are not truly legitimate, and some of those are land claims, lets get on with the discoveries of fact and deal with ALL OF THIS.
but the white man has to call the shots, set the rules of engagement and then cry foul on technicalities and fine points of law. white man’s law.
label this as liberalism or leftistism I dont care; I am ashamed of the despicable centuries old abuse and cavalierness shown the natives.
Ive lived with them and learned some valuable lessons on whats important in life. and they have a very gentle truth-based sense of humor about things too.
its all mike harris’s fault
p.s., you attack me personally, then I conclude I have struck a nerve. the BA is political science so I know what Im talking about and the BSc means Im good at the more technical hard science stuff too. if that intimidates you, go get your own. very little intimidates me, Ive never lost a bar fight and did a parachute jump once out of curiosity.
earning (a) degree(s) entitles one to add the letters. its another one of the white man’s rules. like natives are now doing, theyre using the white man’s rules, written and unwritten, to their own benefit including the stuff about intimidation and press coverage etc etc. more power to them.
this aint over by any means.
Wow, someone is off their meds. You feel attacked and you blame the whitman for everything. Try to impress with your letters and yet you don’t give natives any credit to negotiate anything. And what does Walkerton have to do with natives in Northern Ontario not running their waterplant? Never lost a bar fight? Well neither have I as I have never gotten myself into a situation that would require violence to settle anything.
I seriously recommend you seek professional help for all that hate and anger you have bottled up.
Robert, just curious, are 3rd,4th,5th etc.generation Canadians who are asians, blacks etc.not responsible for any of the indians MULTITUDE of problems?…Only WHITE men is it?…The Natives themselves are absolutely blameless?…How about newly immigrated whites, are they evil and at fault too?
Take your racist whiteman talk and shove it up your ***!
asians. hmmm. lemme check. oh ya, recently we gots an apology from the feds regarding the head tax on all dem chinaman coolies whut built the railroad. sounds like the asian have been too busy fending for themselves to get in on beating up the natives. likewise blacks. nope, the natives are correctly targetting the white man in his list of grievances.
p.s. tex: um, YOU sir chose to point out the business of the letters behind my name FIRST. thus you brought in an element directed and related specifically and exclusively to ME PERSONALLY, ergo, a personal attack as opposed to more general arguements directed at the points I make.
thus, I get to claim hitting a nerve and you fell for it !!!
aaaand you 06/22 01:42 is now on record as the SECOND and vastly more personal attack. keep it up and I will request you be shoved off the blog.
p.s. the walkerton thing is linked to potable water on reserves in the north via the common denominator of the white man’s determination to run everything his way.
Ok Robert J “of many letters” it’s intimidation time (I HAVE A P.H.D.)certifaction, that stands for Plumbing Heating and Drainage.Without people like me and my fellow PHD’s people like you would be in messy trouble. (a good one once a day is normal )more often if you have it scared out of you in one of your bar fights. Are ya scared yet??
maryT :
Your grandson has a very commendable attitude. I just wish more young folks would be as thoughtful of there futures. Nice to hear of someone this conscious of his choices in life As we know it will save him a lot of pain in the long run. I like that type of grit as well.
This is a disastrous situation on several vectors.
The first as has been pointed out is, that this will just spur the thugs to even more exaggerated claims. There is a good possibility other Bands will now try this successful tactic threw out Canada.
The second is the fact that if there is no law, than this vacuum will be filled with a vigilante template. For group self defense if nothing else.
The information the police picked on those who where invaded, speaks volumes of how politicked there force has become. This has & will end in more disgust towards them. If not a complete mockery of there resolve as law keepers. They have lost the trust, faith, plus goodwill of the entire community.
On the Native side they must have nothing but contempt, for men entrusted to be a civilizing force .Of that I am sure. To just stand there being impotent. Must have evoked derision. While there goons hurt innocents .They turned out to be puppies on leashes.
How will this now start to effect other minorities that now see that this force is now been made a eunuch of the liberal establishment? How can they keep up the charade that they can keep people safe, so that they don’t have to buy a gun?
Will gangs of a minority flavor now consider themselves untouchable?
If I lived in Ontario I would be looking for a good gun about now. For when the police turn on the producers & workers to protect the illegal actions of users. Its about game over. For rule of law if this continues.
This is the logical end of multiculturalism conjoined with the Culture of Entitlement.
A tribalized society, stratified by different laws into enclaves of anger, ignorance than topped by hate fueled by the elites. This is what Liberals would have done to us all in time.
I ask? Does this mean that in Canada today. Law is not based on equality, but who you are or what you stand for? Are we already a totalitarian culture. Can we go back?
Will the police divorce themselves form politics & enforce the law of the land? If we have one anymore.
This is the Pandora’s box Dalton opened by his appeasement . He scarcely knows it I bet. To those against the WOT think again about giving in to bullies when the bill comes in for this bit of stupidity.
As for the Natives, They are fast losing any sympathy they have been accruing. Which is a shame because so many want out of that trap. They are going for the quick grab. Which is fine if your on the tribal council. Nothing will change for there so called charges though.
In the long run this will be really adverse for Natives. They shooting themselves in the foot. Just my opinion.
Rob C, as a fellow tradesman I always have the utmost respect for those who make a living using their hands and skills. Now if you could do something about that plumber’s crack…
A passing comment about someone putting letters behind their handle has some people in a dither. Regulars here are always having a discussion about names verses nom de plumes but this is the first that I’ve seen someone plop out their BA & BS. Hence the comment.
I think Kate would be ashamed of us feeding the trolls while she is on the road. me bad.
Rob C…PHD…At least you’re educated enough to know where the shift key is on your keyboard!LOL
certifaction? is that a new word?
p.s. any time I need a plumber I call my brother who has a thriving plumbing business and then he says he’s too busy so I asks him whut am I supposed to do so he spells it out and I do it !!!
so, no, there mr rob c, Ive never been in any plumbing mess. I take care of it myself.
p.s., my brother only does new construction. more money. it does require however well established reputation for quality, timeliness and reliability and competitive price, with the housing developers.
the joke in the family is Ive got all the brains and hes got all the money. humour is always best with a bit of truth mixed in.
if I do get a PHD it will be in english, and my thesis will be the continuing relevance of the socio-political commentary found within the works of shakespeare.
now, better stand back folks!!! whilst all the insults and vitriol gush out of tex and rob c and their ilk like the stuff that pours out of the sewer!!!
shift key? what shift key?
ah, lemme take stock here. yup. NUTHIN to do with the discussion at hand.
the THIRD personal attack in a single thread !!! woohoo !!!
personal attacks. the true mark of a republican eh?
this is just like a bar fight !!! 3 on 1 and Im still winning !!!
har har har
a man of so many letters and talents……. WOW, and a bar fighter extraodinaire to boot. you ARE truly a hero, but I won’t waste any more space on this site with you.
Hey…my dad had three titles..Bs, Ms, and a PHD,
he descibed them to me as ……
Bull Sh*t, More Sh*t, Piled High and Dry…
Take that deep thinkers…! LoL
well rob c, let me take an inventory of some of my many talents. youre a tradesman so this you will ‘get’.
Ive worked amongst tradesmen and demonstrated a knack for problem solving.
scenario: its 430 and ya gotta clear out of the building by 5 ’cause the general contractor is a nervous type.
the boss wants ya to cut a 4″ hole ‘right there’ in a 18″ thick solid concrete wall for some conduit going in the next day.
as you know concrete walls have rebar.
you ever bumped into rebar or seen someone let loose a stream of oaths because they just bumped into it an a most inopportune time? its hardened, tougher than normal steel, so it tends to maintain its shape and position as the wet concrete is poured, plus it doesnt have much ‘stretch’ or otherwise whats the point, right?
so the choice for contractors is to get those much more expensive bits that can handle rebar, or resort to guesswork and lost time on those occassions when you bump into it.
but along comes Robert J BA BSc and decides the first time it happens to *him* there has to be a better way.
did you think of it yet?
did you think of it in all your time in your trade?
did anybody on any job youve been on think of it?
how can you start the hole knowing youre not going to waste time and money dealing with the friggin rebar all over the place. and of course the bigger the hole the more mathematical probability youre going to kaching into the stuff. a fuk it is tough to cut with a std concrete bit.
so in the interests of sharing knowledge and promoting productivity I will share my hidden rebar trick:
a stud finder.
yep. a simple stud finder like the one I have that doubles as a live conductor locater.
you pick the desired spot for the hole and then pass the stud finder across the spot to check if theres any rebar there. none? proceed. got a beep? move to the next best spot and check there!!!
I never saw anyone do this before I came along, but I did see half finished holes hither and thither with rebar half cut and abandoned.
works for me!!! the REAL payoff is when youre trying to dodge steel conduit inside the walls. at least with rebar if ya hit it and got nowhere else to go, then it can still be cut thru with effort. not so the live circuits inside conduit cemented in the wall !!!
sound like maybe I know what Im talking about? betcha readers who have never been on a construction site are thinking hmmm, that seems like a pretty good idea.
another completely different qwuiz based on one of my other talents:
what hardware protocol is used for the internet?
Im not talking PPP or TCP/IP or any of those, those are software protocols. what is the hardware protocol?
heres a hint: packet switching.
lets see if you are talented enough to cough up the answer. failing that, here’s quiz #2:
how do emulators work?
you know, a cpu capable of running executable code form a variety of architectures, ’emulating’ an entirely different model computer.
how do they do it?
this one I will give you the answer.
you replace the microinstruction set contained in the cpu.
huh? microinstruction? you mean you get a pentium upgrade? huh?
uh nope !!
what you do with the emulator is tell it to replace the code sets for an alternate hardware.
microinstructions are the little ‘elves’ that scurry about examining specific bits in the cpu instruction register, be it 32 or perhaps 64 bits or more, and then do part of that particular instruction. executable code is simply arrays of bits, which cause the logic gates to open and close and when all is said and done, the end result is the complete execution of an instruction of the program running at the moment. microinstruction then are just a small piece of the complete execution of the bit pattern constituting the current instruction.
problem is, different manufacturers chose different bit patterns for the same high level instruction. the same source code compiled on different architectures resulted in completely different binary code. what to do, what to do. buy an entirely new computer? where ya gonna put it? where ya gonna get the money?
etc etc.
so, knowing the answer to this great mystery of the universe proves Im much smarter than you when it comes to ye olde computer. I know the essence of how they work at the processor level and all the way up.
any more talents you would like me to elaborate on? any more insults or sarcasms you wish to offer as targets? fodder for my wit? starting point of mirth at your expense?
get the picture mr phd?
oh by the way mr william, that joke is about 40 years old. gotta come up with some new material there. and YOU are now the 4th to weigh in with making it personal. this is some kind of record for a single evening.
LOL !!!!
I win !!!
When you make laws based on race,it is racism.
When you treat people differently with repsect to the Law becasue of their race, it is racism.
There is no good racism, as in “we were trying to help” or “they were mistreated 200 years ago so . .”
Poor Robert, educated into imbecility!
I have heard stories that the SN terrorists are 1) building a bunker on DCE land and 2) they are doing archaelogical research on these lands.
My question–as the taxpayer of Ontario now owns that piece of land(we bought and paid for it) does that not mean that there MUST be a work permit etc, for anyone to do anything on this land? Or is this another different rules for different groups? Or will the rest of us be allowed to take in heavy equipment to any provincial land and do whatever we wish without any papers signed and fees paid?
So Robert thinks because he has a B.A. in political science that he he knows what he’s talking about?! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-
I fell off my chair I was laughing so hard …
Since posting our eduacation letters seems to be envogue, I’ll do it too. The BA is in Politics and History so I too know what I’m talking about Robert J and everything you’ve said is crap. Illegally occupying land that doesn’t belong to you is a criminal act. The six nations occupiers are wrong and should have been arrested in February when this all began. When the rule of law doesn’t apply to all it soon applies to none. If the OPP will not protect Caledonia, the citizens of Caledonia have a right to protect themselves. The primary reason for government to exist is the safety and security of the citizens. If the government fails to provide security it has abrogated all responsibility and claim over loyalty of its citizens.
The only issue at play here is the abject failure of the McGuinty government to serve a court order.
The ownership of the land is not in question, it flatly belongs to the developer. He has a full and legal title, the same as the one I have on my house.
The Indians have been ordered off the site twice. They have lost every court case. The Six Nations band council signed off on the sale of the land already.
So really, it all boils down to this: Are we going to have law and order or not? Are we going to have the police apply the laws even handedly, or are the people affected by the constant, daily harrasment by the native “protesters” going to do it themselves?
Right now its not looking good for law and order. That is a very bad thing for Ontario and for Canada. If McGuinty doesn’t pull his thumb out soon people are going to die. Frankly it doesn’t matter a damn to me which side of the fence they die on, its absolutely inexcuseable.
Punish the Liberals next election, and fill their mailboxes in the mean time.
Count the threes: three-month-old order; third time in the last month is 30 days; three key players.
Justice Marshall is being played as a dupe/buffoon/laughing-stock/fool,etc., by Liberal Premier Dalton McGuinty. This judge has been made to look like a fool; his court is without power. The judge is impotent; duped by McGuinty, et al.
The Rule of Law is dead.
Lawlessness reigns in Canada. …-
CAYUGA, Ont. (CP) – An Ontario Superior Court judge has ordered key players in the Caledonia land dispute to return to court on June 29.
Justice David Marshall wants to know why police still haven’t followed his three-month-old order to evict aboriginal protesters from Douglas Creek Estates.
It’s the third time in the last month Marshall has called the commissioner of the OPP, the attorneys general of Ontario and Canada, and other parties before him.
Robert’s BA in PoliSci is great preperation for his career.
“Would you like fries with that order sir ?”
This is such a sad state of affairs. The people of Caledonia have been abandoned by all levels of government. What is worse this week, two thing happened in the house of commons. 1. The opposition (all three parties) passed an admendment to remove Indian Affairs from the accountablity act. Wrong! Here we have two sets of laws, one for the whiteman, one for the natives. 2. Paul Martin introduced an opposition motion to have the Kelowna Accord upheld by the Conservative government, again with the support of the opposition. It was very obvious by the faces in the CP’s that they were not very pleased with this. Money promised on the back of a napkin. There was no offical document signed in Kelowna. It was just a pre-election gimmick. This mess started way back when JC was the Minister of Indian Affairs! This just shows you how much power the chiefs really do have. Because of this non action by law and officials, this kind of illegal action will happen across Canada.
Take a “time out” kiddies.
