Israel’s Vice Premier Shimon Peres ;
“The president of Iran should remember that Iran can also be wiped off the map,”
Predictably, Associated Press calls Peres’ statement “vehement”. I prefer to call it “the diplomacy of the blatantly obvious”. I only wonder what took them so long.
Via Drudge (who broke out the ‘red electrons’ for the headline).

But Allah is on Irans side so they are cmpletely safe from all harm. Oh wait, that 1967 thing. UUmm, sucks to be Iran.
The sad thing is that on every message board Iran is backed by people in the west with muslim sounding names. As usual the victims of Islamic terror is other muslims yet muslims are so incredibly racist and brainwashed that all they do is stand against the west even living under the freedom of the west.
Pretty pathetic how the whole muslim world seem to come out in psychotice rage over some stupid muhammed cartoons yet muslims blow up mosques almost daily is places like Iraq and Pakistan yet no muslims take to the streets in outrage over these acts, just anything against the west. Again shows how racist and brainwashed they are, any atrocity is fine as long as it is committed by their own kind, even against their own kind, but the least percieved slight from the west and riots occur all over the muslim world.
I am really sorry to say this, but if the west wants to survive as the west, it better keep the muslim world in the muslim world instead of in our world.
The Enemy Is Evil
And don’t ever forget it. Someone filmed the appallingly brutal murder of one of Iraq’s leading journalists, a young woman named Atwar Bahjat, some weeks ago. At the time, she was reported to have been shot by terrorists. The truth, as detailed by Mudville Gazette, is infinitely worse.
The enemy is evil, and those who try to excuse that evil, or who lavish ridiculous amounts of news coverage on stories like Abu Ghraib while leaving their readers in the dark about the real atrocities perpetrated by the Islamic terrorists, are complicit. + powerlineblog.com

The Killing of Atwar Bahjat

Note: Questions have been raised concerning the identity of the victim in the video described in this story. See update below.
Warning: The following contains a graphic description of a brutal murder – probably exceeding what you imagine one human being could do to another. However, it is typical of the work of Islamic terrorists. Read on only if you want a bit of insight into the nature of the enemy in this global war. If not, please skip to the final paragraph. +

I agree, John.
These people cannot be understood by we in the west.
All of the issues that govern our sense of life in a democracy such as logic, values, happiness, fear do not even register with them.
Mistakes made when dealing with muslims are mostly because we expect them to react as we would under similar circumstances.
Bomb, bomb, bomb
Bomb, bomb Iran ….
Kate, I’m reluctant to question your experience with Iranians. It must be extensive to be able to declare Iranians as incapable of diplomacy. Unless you have insights into the Iranian psyche that other’s don’t, I assume you meant to condemn the Iranian govt and not the people it often oppresses. The usual “blast ’em back to Allah” response from your readership is all too predictable.
touché Mr. Peres….
Davidson,
Adding all the caveats and quibbles makes for annoying prose. No one wants to “blast ’em back to Allah”, so let’s stop setting up absurd straw men. As Iunderstand it, the argument generally goes “tit for tat” – if Iran (gov’t) “deploys” a nuke, or shows every sign of pe-emptively doing so, all countering force options (including nuke) are on the table. This is common sense – anyone that fails to realize/acknowledge this is a best immature in thinking.
My best suggestion is high-altitude leaflet drops – blanket the country with notes saying something like: “Um, Iranian citizens? Look, your gov’t is, like, nuts. Would you please do some housecleaning? Signed: Your (potentially) good friends…”
Davidson, I’m reluctant to question your intellect. So, I’ll just leave my response at that.
“blast ’em back to Allah” is the only real solution.
yeah, blast ’em back to allah, and make one big parking lot…. Sounds good, where do i sign up for some nuanced training?
I met a man from Iran last year, before all the enriched uranium talk began. He had a degree in computer science. His wife had a degree in an unrelated subject. They had left Iran because of their government. He is actively involved in several groups in Canada trying to restore democracy to Iran, which it once had. Believe it or not, he also supports the US in Iraq and Afghanistan and wishes they would enter Iran. “Blast them back to Allah,” is racist and assumes “they” are all the same. I would support an effort to topple the government in Iran, as most Iranians would. Do not forget Iranians are being held hostage by their government, just like Iraq, just like Afghanistan. If we truly believe in democracy and human rights, we must remember that Iran’s citizens need our help, not our rage.
Good points Chicoine – though it’s important not to introduce concepts like “racism” to blunt reality. Iran is not a race, it’s a country. And it’s a country with a stated agenda to destroy a democratic neighbor.
While the Iranian people may be hostages, there are many of them who are willingly so. There comes a time when the citizenry either takes back control from rogue governments, or suffers the consequences of their own cowardice.
“Blast them back to Allah,” is racist”.
I disagree. The use of the word “racist” has taken on a life of it’s own in this day of political correctness. Way back when I went to school, we had but 3 races: caucasoid, mongoloid and negroid. The word “racist” is misused nowadays. It’s become nothing but a swear word to label someone. Since when is wishing someone a timely meeting with their maker racist? What “race” is someone who believes in Allah? Let’s see now, there are black Muslims, Oriental Muslims, Saudi Muslims, even former basketball player and folk singer Muslims, all of different races. If someone would have said he wishes eternal damnation on that “n-word” Kareem Abdul Jabar, you may have justification for the word “racist”. If I may be p.c., “Religous Intolerence” is NOT racism. To argue otherwise is nothing more than p.c. twaddle.
Sorry for straying slightly off topic.
“or suffers the consequences of their own cowardice”
Jack Layton’s legacy.
The dilemma has already been alluded to on this comment section. Do we take the easy route and bomb them back into the Middle Ages to match the mentality of their leaders, or do we continue being diplomatic in the hopes that Iran will NOT develop the A-bomb in the immediate future.
If we attack now, we will destroy the will of the Iranian youth (who make up 70% of the population) to force change, and instead drive them into the arms of those backward mullahs.
What do we do? Bomb now and eliminate the threat once and for all…….and create another threat in the outraged region (as if they aren’t pissed enough now) or do we wait and hope for change, and possibly allow the most unstable fanatics to gain access to the most dangerous weapons. Remember, if Iran gets the bomb…the Hezbollah and Al Quada get the bomb.
sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry…..this may be one of those times.
Davidson, Please, I realize it is a liberal tendency to make blanket statements and then sit back and learn from the informed feedback.
It is only myself who has the brash attitude of *blast them back to allah*.
Everyone else here is more mature and better informed than I.
They detail ways of dealing with the nuke issue, suggesting things like precision conventional bombing to destroy the gear, warning the people to move away from the target areas, dropping leaflets etc.
I think *MadMud* and his gang of Mullusks are bunch of terrorists, and any fool knows you can not have any agreement with them or you end up wearing a knife in the back.
They are just buying time while organizing and their guy says as much..

**Larijani refused to give details of the letter’s content, but said, “Perhaps it could lead to a new diplomatic opening. It needs to be given some time.**
**
There is a need to wait before disclosing the content of the letter, let it make its diplomatic way,** Larijani said in an interview with Turkey’s NTV television.

I suggest George handball the letter into the white house fireplace and bomb the underground nuke plant that crosshairs have been sitting on for months tomorrow morning.
32 years ago this cancer started on the northern Israeli border and it has to be cut out.
What do you suggest? Further study? A committee? The UN? Davidson, let*s just presume you may not have an up to date picture. TG
