So, this is why those New England states vote for haughty, French-looking Massachusetts senators…

Well, would Canada consider taking New England for say, Alberta? You can even take their lousy football team.
The French are always left-wing but nobody seems to know why?
Paul of York,
You got yourself a deal!! .. We want out … quick!! … before Monday…
Great Rob! We want to get rid of Massachusetts especially.
I can’t wait to tell Kennedy and Kerry they are freshmen in your Parliment. They won’t be much trouble, you can’t understand what they’re saying anyway.
I hope you’ll give us a good price on lobster, can’t think of much else we’ll miss.
I haven’t been to Alberta but I love Canada and I’m sorry you all are getting so royally screwed, pardon the pun of sorts.
Paul of York- LOL..
Just a couple of things, your making it sound like a Liberal deal… 😉
If Kennedy and Kerry are part of Canada and were part of the US, how does that affect us?
If your looking for Lobster in Alberta, it could take a while, we’re primarily Oil/Gas/Prairie/Mountains, no ocean available. I suppose we could dig a big trench through Seattle and up through Montana.
You might like it here, if you like lots of work, mountains(Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise), etc.. There is a few mad cows running around, but that’s primarily due to moonbats chasing them at night. Lots to see and do, and only gets to -30 F for a couple of weeks sometimes… 😉
You make it sound like a place of my dreams. I knew your lobsters were kind of dusty, I meant the one from New England, which you now owned.
I think, from reading todays news, we may have found one of our own mad cows. I hope not.
If I start from Erie, Pa., come up the Great Lakes and connect about 1,000 of Minnesota’s reputed 10,000 lakes, how close am I?
Anyway, we would be rid of the totally Liberal New England states and we would have Alberta. As you make it sound, especially the hard work part, you can’t have that many Liberals there…..or do you?
I’m not making sense, am I?
Well, forget the lobsters.
Just tell me what are Moonbats. I’m new to visiting the Small, Dead, Animals.
Your making sense just fine, I’m just trying to keep the mood lite….. 😉
The right refers to the left as moonbats, you know them greasy slimy liberals like Kennedy, Kerry, Paul Martin… etc.
Kate tries to drive over them with her dodge truck, but they always seem to slip into the sewer before she gets them.
Heh, understood.
From my readings of Kate so far, I don’t doubt that. But they are extremely slippery critters, slimey, shifty, and one dimensional characters.
Still, I expect to one day see a headline here saying “I got one!”
I’ll know what she means.
Cool. you be one of us… 😉
By the way, here in Alberta for a lot of us, if we display the CDN flag, it’s upside down in disgrace, a lot of us actually fly the Stars and Stripes. Yup, we be mad, and after Monday/Tuesday we will be real mad.
I have been reading a little about the tricks being played to retain power. I just read an article in National Review, without running to get it, I recall a hollywood type woman dumping her party and switching to get a one vote majority. I think she was in the Constitutional party? Apparently there have been other tricks pulled to get a several vote majority.
I hadn’t realized how it has gotten. I live in what has become aLiberal state because of the big cities of Pittsburgh & Philadelphia. We in the middle of the state, conservatives cannot pull enough votes to get them out. Maybe it is that way for you, too many votes in the East.
I saw Kate’s reason for her blog and saw the anger there. And flying your flag like that shows red hot disgust.
I wish I was Bill Gates. I’d move you all down or we’d start our own country in Alberta. I’m not sure what’s happening Monday but I think I read elections were called and it didn’t sound good. I’m sorry. You know you tend to think of your own problems and forget there’s more than that in this world.
Good Luck for an upset miracle next week.
Ah, your talking about Belinda Stronich(or however you spell it), she was a conservative, but people kind of had there reservations about her because of her family history. Her father owned Magna corp, and is also related to the Demairs family, who is tied to M Strong, who is tied to Kyoto and the Oil for food scandal in Iraq, and has strong liberal ties. … boy that was a mouth full, but it shows the depth of the problem.
We have the same problem here, the libreals have created a dependency out east, and we can’t get the bastards out because of the unequal distribution of parlimentary seats in this stupid country.
Monday/Tuesday brings about the same sex marriage(SSM) vote in Ottawa, and there is no way we can win. In the west we have are VERY strong opponents of SSM. It’s much like Texas in Alberta, so you get the genral sentiment.
Alberta would be good for the US, as we have an oil reserve of an estimated 350 billion barrels if you include the tar sands, plus an almost direct route to Alaska, and 500K Americans live here in a population of 3 million. So out of all the provinces, were more clostly related to the US then we are to Bananada…. er… Canada.
In your state, you have to mobilize and get rid of the problem, as these guys are like a virus and will creep in underneath and eventually take over. Start spreading the word and getting a little angry about it, or you’ll end up paying for it.
Note: spelling and grammer may be totally out to lunch due to a few beers…. 😉
As another Albertan, let me throw a wet cloth on the love-fest here. We (as in Albertans) are not ALL excited about being the 51st state.
On the other hand, we have very strong ties with the US and would make a kick-butt northern buddy (without scientific proof, i.e. a Strategis poll, I would argue that MOST Albertans supported both the Iraqi invasion and missile defense).
That being said, no, I personally don’t want an Uncle Sam in my life unless he is a blood relative. Mind you, that is MHO and not written in stone. If I had to choose between PMPM and Bush? Tough call, I’d probably pick Bush but not be overly happy.
My preference? An independent entity with strong US ties (and, frankly, Canada, I don’t give a damn).
Cheers.
my 2c
That sounds good to me, a strong friend, who needs one to be more?
I was just reading Kate’s top article and figured out who PMPM is (I’m slow). I’m very interested in my second coutry(out West though)Is there any Eastern Province holding conservative? Does Conservative mean the same there as here?
And unfortunately, there are strong forces in this country overturning or trying to many traditional family values too.
We, that it could be, need to form another place, somewhere to live with the least government interference as possible. People of Europe did it – it’s sad, we have run out of new land to discover.
Sorry, my grammer s*cks.
“Is there any Eastern Province holding conservative?”
Not once you get past Manitoba, and that prov is starting to swing a little left. For the most part, east of Manitoba there is a big dependency on government.
“Does Conservative mean the same there as here?”
Yup, smaller government, less interference, etc.. Both systems are very similar, with yours having far better checks and balances for corruption.
No problem on the grammer, mine is the same … 😉
Ah yes, the “Tisserands,” that great migration of French Canadians into New England in search of work in the textile mills.
Very few Americans know (or probably care, hlas!), that the first language of their beat generation author emeritus, Jack Kerouac, though born in Lowell, Massachusetts, was French – Canadian French.
He started life as Jean-Louis Lebris de Kerouac.
I don’t comment on separatists of any ilk or persuasion, whether Qubcois, western or any other; I despise them because they all act the same: like children who aren’t getting their own way.
I’m Canadian. Period.
