One member turned out to be a dog that had been dead for five years. But he, too, was welcomed to the Liberal party.
Very interesting. So, the more recent appointment of a bitch to cabinet wasn’t a break from party policy, after all.

Now, now… you can’t say that or it’s sexist.

C. Parrish run; hear Parrish swear.
But let’s damn her with faint praise; she is a Liberal; Liberal is another word for criminal; a traitor- “I hate those American bastards”; a sycophantic Martin ass-kisser; a bigoted woman; she hates the Truth; she is unprincipled; she is a political whore.
Let us count the ways; she kills dolls; she is a bootlicker; a black jackboot on your face she would place; she is a Socialist; she is a hard left Liberal mouth-piece.
What price for her loyalty will Martin exact from her? Sew her mouth shut with a bribe/bribes? For Parrish to re-enter “the big tent” of the Librano$, she will pay a price.
The Parrish will self-destruct; go Carla Parrish.
Myth #2: Harper is Mr. Angry and he hates Canada
Gack, Stephen Harper doesnt hate Canada and hes no more angry than the next guy.
OK, hes not Mr. Angry, but there is something he doesnt do very well: he cant translate his frustration with how much better Canada could be into righteous indignation. Righteous indignation, and the muttering of words like mad as hell are comforting signals that weve all come to expect from politicians. Its rather like when a magician says, nothing up my sleeve. After the incantation you know that some slight of hand is imminent. In the same way most accountants are really crappy joke tellers, Harper just cant seem to muster the faux rage and sanctimonious pandering that lulls us into a sense that all will be well.
Thats unfortunate, but its not scary.
Harper is also freakishly skillful at saying things in almost exactly the wrong way. Im sure we all have a private collection of these ill-phrased gems like:
Canada appears content to become
a second-teir socialistic country,
boasting ever more loudly about its
economy and social services to mask
its second-rate status
Ughh. Nobody wants to hear that message delivered in that way. The problem is, its not far from the objective truth and the Liberal party knows it.
They certainly knew it in 2000 and 2001. I have a collection of essays from leading Liberals musing about ways to restore Canadas place in the world. If your aim is to restore your place in the world its hard to argue that you havent slipped into second tier status. We no longer punch above our weight on international affairs. Our foreign service is not the same one that helped win Pearson his Noble prize. Actually, Norway is the new Canada in that respect. They are in our spot and it irks me too.
The ways he says some things is pretty unfortunate, but its not scary. I dont think he hates Canada. I think he wants Canada to be in its rightful place: at the top of the heap. Heres what he might have said:
Canada is one of the worlds great nations. Were proud, humble, resourceful people and pound for pound, Canadians can hold their own with anyone. But, under years of Liberal neglect weve slipped from our place in the world. Our reputation is diminished. This cannot continue.
If hed said that, would it be scary?
Im not going to try and argue that Harper is a charismatic leader. Hes not. But that doesnt make him scary, it just makes him vulnerable to being characterized that way.

NDP may extend Liberal deal
Posted by Clive at Free Republic.com.
Canadian Press via Sun Media ^ | 2005-05-26 | Alexander Panetta
OTTAWA (CP) – The NDP could seek a long-term agreement to prop up the Liberal government in exchange for a handful of concessions, party officials said Wednesday. Fresh from winning $4.6 billion more for its priorities in return for helping the Liberals survive a confidence vote, the NDP is upping the ante and contemplating a more wide-ranging deal. The party inched closer to holding the balance of power in the House of Commons after this week’s Labrador byelection gave the Liberals another seat. They will use their newfound clout to push the government on NDP priorities such as electoral reform,…

Voters in poll fear Tory agenda
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20050526.wxpoll26/BNStory/National/
“The problem isn’t the leader, it is the party and its social policies,” pollster Jean-Marc Lger said in an interview yesterday. “The Conservatives have not shown they can be a credible alternative to the Liberals. Despite a full year of minority [Liberal] government, despite the sponsorship scandal, despite the fiery debate over the budget, the Conservatives have not made any inroads across Canada. In fact, they have lost some ground. And the problem isn’t Stephen Harper.”
The survey showed 38 per cent of decided voters would opt for Mr. Martin’s Liberals, 27 per cent for Mr. Harper’s Conservatives and 17 per cent for the New Democrats under Jack Layton.
I’m not buying into the polls anymore… Too many discrepencies of late…
People should be scared, because when we get power we will:
– teach in schools that communism is evil, and lead to the deaths of 100,000,000 people
– abolish all unions and make everyone work for $2 hour
– paint everyone white, or hide them in the back room
– force everyone to speak english at gun point.
– make it mandatory to carry a firearm in public
– legalize duels (for honor, of course)
– make abortion illegal, and promote all white families to have 10 kids
– build a gigantic military and invade Greenland
– promote bullying in schools
so beware Canada, you’ve been warned.
Having Dead dogs appearing on the Liberal membership lists and voting isn’t out of character for this federal cartel.
They also issue federal gun licences to dogs and cats ( mind you they were still animate at the time of the issuance) and they register firearms owned by “mans best friend” as well. Same deal… for a fee (to party coffers) any old dog can create the illusion of functional democracy.
The phenomenon is widely refered to as “Quebec ballot magic”….critters, the deceased and clones can vote and vote big.
Just ask landslide Annie M. from Edmonton 😉
But are dead dogs appearing on the voters lists ?
For Maz2,
You may hate the Liberals, and I don’t blame you, but for pete’s sake, would you please keep your juvenile insults to yourself.
It is comments like yours that the Liberals and their spin doctors pick up and spread to the rest of the world as evidence that the CPC is full of wing nuts.
We don’t need this bad publicity and – presumably – neither do you if you wish to see the end of the Liberal thousand year dynasty.
Just chill out. OK?
..that’s my two cents
LIberal spin doctors are going to come out at a news conference and quote a guy named “Maz2?”
The spin will occur regardless of what anyone says. The media are the liberal party, thus, the trick is to bypass them and go straight to ordinary people.
From wingnut to two cents:
Quote this:

Long live freedom and democracy.
Any sins committed happened under Jean Chrtien’s administration and cannot be linked to Mr. Martin, said one strategist close to the Prime Minister.
“You will not see anybody identified with the Paul Martin team involved in any of the accusations put forward,” he said.
“Because that’s not how the Paul Martin teamworks.”

Go Maz2
The libs are a plague on democracy and freedom.
They are bloodsucking maffia goons beating on generations of Canadians and destroying our trust in government and our country.
They are slimey crawling worms the only support they can muster are from the paid off clients of the corrupt welfare state they have built.
Here’s your change back 2 cents
Belinda Strumpet got a cabinet post for her vote, what did the the dead dog get? What did Chuck I’m-a-Cad-man get? What do you think Carolyn Garish is holding out for? Apparently, there is always a price. Robert Redford as Paul Martin in “Indecent Proposal 2: The End of Morality”. Coming soon to a Parliament near you.

Thought that one was kind of a laugh…
If you thought the Newsweek Koran desecration story was already as weird as it was going to get, think again. WorldNetDaily says theres a possibility that the stories of deaths caused by rioting in Afghanistan were false: Who are those dead Afghans? (Hat tip: lawhawk.)
Welcome to the rabbit hole.
Virtually every major news agency in the world has reported without verification that between 15 and 18 Afghanis were killed in the riots.
Theres just one problem. There is no more evidence for these deaths than there is that a U.S. interrogator flushed a Quran down the toilet.
Not a single name of even one victim has been released. No details of the circumstances of the riots were released from any official sources either U.S. or Afghan.
Who were these victims? Were they rioters killed by police or military forces? Were they innocent victims attacked by fanatics? Were they Afghanis? Were they relief workers?
G2B has examined every English-language news story about these deaths through Lexis Nexis. G2B has scoured the Internet, including foreign and non-English-language news sources for any details of these deaths. And G2B has queried both U.S. and Afghan official sources for any details about these alleged deaths.
No U.S. officials contacted can provide any corroboration for any deaths. And Afghan officials uniformly clam up with apprehension at the mere asking of questions.
I have no comment, said one official at the Afghan embassy in Washington who asked not to be identified.
When told he wasnt being asked for a comment, just any public information about the casualties in what has become the biggest international news story, he said: I cannot say anything.
There should be an investigation, he said. I cannot say any more. Please do not quote me. This is very sensitive.
Now, some sources inside the U.S. government are saying off the record that they believe the death toll may have been deliberately exaggerated by Islamists perhaps even some Afghan government officials who want to make a point about the grievous nature of the supposed Quran desecration.

Rabbit hole, indeed. Carla Parrish, meet rabbit hole.
The Red Queen, ( hat tip, Lewis Carroll), is your kind of Queen; waiting for you. (Love it: the Red Queen!)
BTW, richfisher, your description is 100%. More, please.
Hey, guys, I wasn’t the one in the MSM and (taxpayer-funded) Liberal spin rooms that got all upset over the (frequently well-deserved) names people called Belinda. But, let’s be real.
Opponents of the CPC have used over-the-top namecalling on the blogs as an excuse to smear the CPC.
Whether we like it or not, that’s a fact.
I even like Kate’s use of the dead dog example and her clever linkage to the appointment of a bitch to cabinet. To me, that type of comment is not only within bounds, it is a great linkage use of past Liberal misdeeds to today’s situation
I also think Carolyn Parrish is fair game. Her shameful behaviour and rabid anti-Americanism is despicable for an elected MP and her gutter politics approach must be challenged aggressively.
But “Carla Parrish”? That type of comment is only useful in giving our opponents another opportunity to attack conservative supporters.
We don’t need that.
Let’s let Carolyn play in the deepest depths of the gutter by herself.
I’m not saying that we should not rip the Liberals at every chance we get. I even know PMPM and used to like the guy. Hell I even voted Liberal in 1968 when I was much younger and more naive than I am now.
Now my stomach gets nauseous just at the sight of Paul Martin because I am so upset about the corruption he has allowed, his refusal to admit that it is endemic inside his party, and the way he spends my tax dollars to bribe every Tom, Dick and Harry in Canada.
We should not let Paul Martin and the other Liberal bastards off the hook for a millisecond.
I’m just saying that judicious use of language and avoidance of some of the racist junk is in everbody’s best interest.
Giving comfort to the enemy so that they can can pretend they are morally superior (despite the fact that they are demonstrably ethically challenged) is not the best way to build support for those of us fighting to replace the Liberals with an honest government for Canada.
Bottom line. We win by being better than the other guys, not by joining them in the gutter.
That’s my two cents and if you don’t like it tough.
Whoops, I made a mistake. It was 1965, not 1968 that I voted Liberal – something about being turned off by John Diefenbaker’s anti-Americanism and being taken in by Pearson’s call to elect “a majority government”. I did not vote Liberal in ’68.
But, over the years I learned my lesson about Liberal minority governments big big time. They are teh same as NDP governments – something I detest the thought of.
I really enjoyed Kate’s line about appointment of a bitch to cabinet.
Signing up dead dogs as members of the liberal party is just par for the course for them, as noted here. They have been getting away with it for so long I believe they laugh at our apathetic and assinine acceptance once again.
Labrador seems to be the latest example.
And let’s not forget what mj money bought in BC.: 38,000 NEW Federal Liberal party members.
Ain’t it grand.. We’d know this for a fact, but the subpeonas are under the watchful eye of a judge out here and we are not allowed to know the details.
Suffice to say it has the same smell emminating from the latest ‘deals’ by those lib devils that saw their 5th non-confidence vote put them over the top. Not without some costly deals, for which WE will pay.
As to the chiding about name calling or references unkind toward the liberal party in general and obvious lib targets, like Carolyn Parrish , in particular… well, THEY have it coming.
CPC and those who support the Conservative cause and hold values they subscribe to in their policy statments take an awful beating in the press, even denying , by clever use of polling, that ANY dissent whatsoever even exists.
Why, the country finds the Conservative social policies SOOOO distasteful…. What a load of bs that is.. and then to have someone comment here that those who are genuinely outraged and frustrated should ‘chill’.. well, that is just ridiculous.
That is another in a long line of : if a lib says it it has validity, if anyone else says it, well, it exhibits ‘anger’.
ANGER? You ain’t seen nuthin’ yet, bub!
Handful of protesters greet Stronach
By CASSANDRA SZKLARSKI

NEWMARKET, Ont. (CP) – A handful of protesters greeted newly minted Liberal MP Belinda Stronach with catcalls of “Shame” and “Boo-linda” on Thursday at her first public event in her home riding since last week’s dramatic defection from the Conservative caucus.
But the three protesters, who donned rubber Jean Chretien and Bill Clinton masks for the occasion, failed to unnerve the human resources minister, who ignored her critics as she arrived in a black sedan complete with tinted windows.
“The good people of Newmarket and Aurora didn’t want to send a robot or a sheep to Ottawa,” Stronach told reporters. “I’ll always stand up for what I think is in the best interests of this community.”
The protesters refused to identify themselves other than to deny that they worked for the Conservatives; only one claimed to be a resident of Stronach’s Newmarket-Aurora riding.
Stronach crossed the floor and accepted a cabinet post as human resources minister last week, helping Prime Minister Paul Martin’s minority Liberal government survive last week’s budget vote in the House of Commons by the narrowest of margins.
She was in her central Ontario riding of Newmarket-Aurora on Thursday to open a student business centre.
Penny Stockley, a Conservative supporter who voted for Stronach during last year’s federal election, said she would rather return to the polls for a byelection than continue to be represented by a Liberal member of Parliament.
“I don’t welcome her at all,” said Stockley, who works at the salon next door to the new centre.
“It shouldn’t be Liberal, as far as I’m concerned. It should be another Conservative.”
Stronach, who has been defending herself against similar attacks for more than a week now, continued to stand firm.
“Anytime you want to change the status quo, there are going to be some that perhaps have deep roots within the Conservative party that may take some time to understand why I made my decision,” she said.
There are as many people applauding her move as there are denouncing it, she added.
Newmarket Mayor Tom Taylor and a host of students and local employers joined Stronach at Thursday’s event.
Martin has promised to call an election within 30 days of the release of the final report from the inquiry into the Liberal sponsorship scandal, expected early next year.
Stronach ran unsuccessfully for the Conservative leadership last year, finishing second to Stephen Harper, who reportedly gave Stronach a sharp dressing-down in the days before her defection for public comments she made supporting certain aspects of the Liberal budget.

More BS from the Liberal/NDP SSM, er MSM.
The Liberal spin is there; bribes and black limos.
BS was not unnerved? How would a reporter know that? The windows were tinted. BS.
BS is standing firm. BS.
The Canadian MSM is Pravda, aka Truth, Soviet Communist propaganda machine, for the Liberals.
B.S.>> “Anytime you want to change the status quo”
I figured her for an unethical, dumb, inexperienced and silverspooned socialist, and now I can add selfdeluded.
It’s great fun to throw dirt and Stronach and Parish have certainly moved in ways to attract arrows. These two are ambitious contenders and are very smart in many ways but caution. I read some of Belinda’s stuff and when I saw some real weight there, I lost any urge to fling barbs. These two are very comfortable in shark infested waters. If Parish can resist public demonstration for a time, she will bounce back. This is in no way a defense. Merely a caution. Sheila Copps is regaining strength again. See how they can bounce back. TonyGuitar at Bendgovernment.blogspot.com
I must be reading the wrong stuff on Bejlinda. Anthing I’ve read points to an almost complete lack of “grasp” on the issues, and the 6th grade writing style she uses(cover?).
Can you point me to her good stuff?-no sarcasm-
