Earnscliffe Investigated

Politics Watch has an exclusive report that the Commons public accounts committee is looking for a few good men.
Unfortunately, Mr. Warren Kinsella and Ms. Terrie O’Leary will have to do.
Even more unfortunately, they may have to be subpeonaed. There are a few matters about the firm known as Earnscliffe that the committee would like to have straightened out, and they’re not answering their calls.
Update The subpeonas have been issued.

  1. Well colour me surprised. Mr Kinsella is always so complementary about Earnscliffe, I would have thought he would be both anxious and honoured to tell the PA Committee what he knows. According to his writings on his (no comments accepted) blog, he knows a lot, and has documents and evidence to support all his kind opinions of the firm. Unless, of course, all that is just bluster, like the three defamation suits he has threatened in the last twelve months.
No – perish the thought: I can’t imagine Warren talking through his hat that way or bluffing about what he knows or plans to do.
    Cheers,
    Dean

  2. Me thinks Warrens statement about Kate this A.M. was a distraction technic so that little artical wouldn’t be picked up.

  3. Me thinks Warren is a bigot who should be prosecuted under Canadian anti-gang laws for his involvement with the Libranos.

  4. Kate,
I missed the attack on you by Kinsella. It would seem that irony is beyond the reach of Mr. Half-Head. He gives us a new definition of racism, to wit: failing to intervene when people of a different colour are in peril.
I had no idea Gomer Kinsella was in favour of intervening in Iraq!
More poignantly I wish Mr Gomer had had access to the then Prime Minister of Canada in 1994 as perhaps his advocacy on behalf of Rwandans could have prevented or alleviated the massacre.

  5. That’s what I thought. I had simply proposed the usual “UN Approach That Reflects Canadian Values” and Kinsella throws a rod right through his brainpan.

  6. Maybe Warren is just frustrated. You know, a lot on his mind, like if he should wear his hair up or down while picking up garbage in an orange jump suit.

  7. The attack on Kate seems to have been
undertaken without even a scintila of thought.
Then again, obviously distracted by recent events at
the Gomery Inquiry and perhaps forgiven for a lapse in good judgement, Mr. Kinsella still seems to ooze poor judgement and a vindictive bent.
Wonder then what prevented such indignation in 1994 when Rwanda was
paramount in the minds of many, especially those calling for some sort of
action against such a ‘racist’ genocide.
Must have been the ‘party’ line to remain silent in the face of such atrocities
    and outrages.
Good rehearsal for what is happening in Ottawa today, eh what.
One must keep one’s perspective when undertaking such an attack and making
comparisions with others of questionable ilk.
After all one is known by the company he keeps. In Mr. Kinsella’s case this might be a dire consequence indeed.
    NOT gentlemanly on any level.
Nor does his snide insinuation that , of course, anything said must be taken with a grain of salt due to the ‘affiliation’ with far right groups.
    Please.
    This is a COMPLIMENT!

  8. This is getting to be more fun all the time. I just updated the original entry he’s sending his readers to with news of the subpeona.

  9. This is a choice excerpt from the article about the supoenas at:
    http://www.politicswatch.com/earnscliffe-april11-2005.htm
“Kinsella wrote a letter to the committee outlining a number of reasons why he cannot appear Wednesday, including a request for the committee to pay the cost of his legal representation. In previous hearings related to the sponsorship program the committee agreed to pay the legal costs of public servants.”

  10. It’s actually Ms. Terrie O’Leary, and she used to be Paul Martin’s Executive Assistant. She is also the spouse of David Herle, the Saskatchewan boy who ran the disastrous Liberal campaign last year. They live in Gatineau, Quebec.
Ms. O’Leary was Canada’s representative at the World Bank in Washington for a few years. Pays some crazy amount like $300,000 US, tax free.

  11. I wonder if Warren will take his “Barney” Doll with him for moral support? After all, he seems to be very proud of it.
On another note…..I wonder if the Barney Doll was paid for from the sponsorship fund?

  12. Let’s not be too hard on Warren.
We have to help him and support his new campaign endorsing Mr. McGuinty who pretends to seek the backing of backing of Mr. Harper who are all chasing the multi billion $ surplus.
Forget Adscam that is only the tip of the iceberg. If Harper becomes PMO they might call Mr Guite out of retirement to help them get back to the corruption and under the table cash envelope days that existed long before the liberals came to power. Mr. Chretien and his pal Kinsella decided long ago not to dig up the past when they got offices on the hill – now Harper may get his chance to bury the recent past if he moves into 24 Sussex. Leave Mr Kinsella be – he will make sure of two things that we all really want to see – Mr. Martin will never be PM again and neither will Mr. Harper.

  13. Kinsella is a liberal, so I hope he goes down.
Ms. Terrie O’Leary, has been well paid off it seems. She may be the link to Martin that we are all looking for in this scandal.

  14. Has anyone yet found the connection between Adscam and the CIA?
Moving large amounts of cash through American public corporations abroad, does not require the normal scrutiny saved for banks and political parties. And how could have a professional intelligence operative screwed up so badly by getting caught giving money to both the local Liberals and the Bloc in Quebec unless he wanted someone to get caught.
    Just asking. Just asking.

  15. Joe,
That’s it Joe! The CIA framed your party, the Liberals? Go tell it to the CBC Joe. It’s a lot like the rest of the garbage they peddle. Somehow I think even the Fifth Estate would find you a bit strange.
I read your bio, Joe. What’s really scary is you are no ordinary Joe. You were a University Professor. You had the opportunity to spew your moronic nonsense on young virginal minds – and there was likely no one to challenge your craziness. I wish I had been in your class.
Pack it in Joe. This crowd is not wet behind the ears. We know you know nothing.
