And The Budget Will Balance Itself

Another strongly worded letter from the Parliamentary Budget Officer;

““While the sum of these measures is significant, the amount of information that is publicly available to track this spending is lacking, thus making it more challenging for parliamentarians to perform their critical role in overseeing government spending and holding it to account. [..] This lack of data is not a result of it not being available. The Department of Finance had been providing biweekly updates to the standing committee on finance, but stopped when Parliament was prorogued in August.”

He should threaten them with a fine.

  1. He should threaten them with a fine.

Without personal financial responsibility for their decisions, nothing will change. They need to have their own money on the line as a percentage, along with a similar amount of interest, and then they might understand that budgets do not balance themselves and if they don’t, it hurts them a lot.

$350! (Note: To be paid for out of general tax revenues)

  3. L- “L’etat c’est mois” King Louis XIV.

L’etat c’est mois” – (I’m the monarch of Canada) Justin Trudeau. The House of Commons is for the commoners. He, who inherited his position, imagines himself above the law.

So far:(shutting down Parliament, SNC Lavalin scandal interfering with criminal prosecution, malicious prosecution of Admiral Mark Norman, giving public monies indirectly to a designated terrorist group (dedicated to a genocide of 6 million Jews in Israel in it’s charter) et al…, his acting as an absolute monarch(caliph?) has been successful.

Any P.M. that can get away with shutting down Parliament and the rights of it’s elected representatives to hold him to account is, in effect, an absolute monarch.

Ha, yeah. ~:D One part of government “fining” another part.

If he wanted to make them -move- he’d take 10% of their budget for every day they failed to comply. That would do it.

          1. Pension?? Take it out of the Trudeau Foundation. You’ll find a lot of pink paper in there with Mao pics on them.

  5. Threaten them with a fine…length of rope.
Non of that co-polymer 5/8″ stuff.
No stretchy dynamic ropes either. Gotta keep the feet from hitting.
Preferably a kernmantle static rope. 10mm.
Probably get some at MEC on Richmond Rd.

    1. I’ve got some 15 mm in my basement you can have. Come to think of it, it’s already made up, too.

  6. For every percentage of federal deficit / GDP every MP and Senator should loose that same percentage of their salary and pension but it would be simpler and more effective if we had single term limits for all of them (no pension “earned” nor reason to overspend on vote buying).

  7. Stopped providing the reports at about the same time of prorogation which was about the same time that Morneau “resigned” and the red dwarf took over the finance portfolio.

If you hadn’t noticed, the only one in cabinet that gets a pass is the sock monkey. The reason I mention this is that while the sock monkey always seems to skate when scandal breaks, his minions don’t get off so well.
My guess is the quarterly scandal is about to break and I speculate it’s going to involve some fun with numbers.

  8. I don’t know why the PBO would send anything to the finance committee. The Liberal lackie MPs have been filibustering it for weeks. Just enjoy your dictatorship Canada.

  9. “He should threaten them with a fine.”

    Heh.

    What a mess.

Trump on the ropes fighting for his life because of crooked, cheating, disgusting, lying media/pollsters/tech/Democrats. And idiot Trudeau running around like he has a majority.

I don’t usually get very depressed, but tonight I am. I wonder where this is all headed.
