  1. On the political front, the big story is Donald Trump, who declares his candidacy for president and lays out a bold, far-reaching vision for America consisting of whatever thought is flitting through his mind at that particular moment. Trump is deemed to have no chance by veteran Washington-based political experts with vast knowledge of what all the other veteran Washington-based political experts think. Also declaring his candidacy, and predicted by the experts to do far better, is Jeb Bush, whose official campaign slogan is: “Jeb! — The Exclamation Mark Denotes Enthusiasm.”

  2. Once again, Trudeau and Co.’s propaganda machine, aka the CBC is keeping the poster boy in his enclosure, making sure he’s impermeable. The boy hasn’t had enough selfies and freebies in Paris, soon, he’ll be off to the White House to rub noses with Obama.
This was my comment on the story, that got deleted immediately.
”More free trips for our Prime Minister. What about the jet fuel he is burning?? Is someone keeping track of the carbon footprint??”
The trip is scheduled for March 10. That,s about the same time as we’ll be able to chose or delete whatever TV channels we want or don’t want on our cable service. My first ”deletion” will be CBC Regina, then CBC News–World..

  3. I’m with you plainzfyre.
I will delete every channel that is leftist or shows stupid shows like modern family, or other gay friendly anti traditional family stuff. So pretty much everything except discovery,a&e , history, amc …..and sci-fi.

  4. As much as I would love to delete the CBC, I’m afraid that won’t be an option. You will still have to buy a basic cable package for $25 a month (which no doubt will include CBC.) then add the channels you really want for an extra cost per channel. So you will still be paying for the CBC twice. Once through your taxes and again by whatever the cable companies pay them.

  5. “everything except discovery,a&e , history, amc”
I also enjoy these channels however they are all guilty of slipping in “global warming” and “climate change” propaganda whenever they get the opportunity. “Ice Road Truckers” makes numerous references to climate change when describing the spring thaw and deteriorating roads. The various Alaskan reality shows all make a point out of shortened trapping seasons due to shorter and milder winters. Even Mike Holmes appears to be on the “climate change” bandwagon as witnessed by comments he has made unrelated to construction practices.

  6. O’benito narcissist’s fascist state.
    …-
    “LAWRENCE MARTIN
    Obama, the rational heavyweight” (g-m)
    …-
“Obama’s ‘hope and change’ now is hopelessness and stagnation”
“In the 1950s, one U.S. job in 20 required some form of government license. Today, it is one in three.”
    “How bad is it?
The number of pages in the Code of Federal Regulations (the compilation of all permanent federal regulations) has grown by nearly 15 percent during the Obama administration. As of today, the number of federal regulations that control our lives fills 200,000 pages — and that doesn’t include state and local regulations.”

“Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past”
“According to Dr David Viner, a senior research scientist at the climatic research unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia, within a few years winter snowfall will become “a very rare and exciting event”.”

utterly and completely unrepentant. a law fo da rich a law fo da poor. no further proof req’d. you folks got a problem with this continent’s 2 supreme court judgey-judges? ya, join the 10s of thousands outraged by the FACT the judgey-judge in THIS drunk driving fatality got suckered big time.
I promised myself if I ever got smacked into by a drunk driver I would take a tire iron to their head and eliminate all future possibilities of a recurrence. crack them hard so they cannot drive to keep them off the road. the message seems to have trickled down from the ether seeing as me and mine have never had to deal with such tragedy.
p.s., wanna kill someone with a minimum consequence? here’s what you do. practice driving drunk. find out how many ounces put you over legal limit but you can still steer.
now you stalk your prey and when they are about to get into *their* car, you ram them good. 3 years later you’re free to go, instead of 20 for manslaughter the old fashioned way. yeeee HAAAAA !!! this legal tip brought to you by the collective wizzdumb of Conservatists and Lieberals over the last 100 years.

  9. Plainzfyre, Paul In Calgary & Largs: I haven’t watched one second of Global, CTV or CBC news, other than picking off the odd unethical inanity on the net, since last fall’s federal election. For now they can make me pay for it, but nobody can make me watch their slanted and fallacious garbage.
We voted for change. Based on a boatload of false narratives, outright falsehoods and biased “coverage” of the “issues” & “priorities,” which coincidentally were indistinguishable from Laurentian statism. Right, change for the worse, and those lying scum masquerading as journalists fixed the game for Grits to win over the LIV, who shall also rue as a group their idiotic decision, on the advice of charlatans, to elect statists who only know how to attend meetings, take selfies and spend our money in ways that would embarrass a drunken sailor on weekend leave. Provincial and now federal organized taxation have stepped on the tax product more times than the slimiest drug dealer does with their product. Statist government is also the addict – the least they need is the most they can get
NB now has a top marginal rate, on over $200,000 taxable income, of 58%. Sure, work harder, take on risk & the extra cost of employees, (yes incorporated owners pay themselves a salary, those greedy so & so’s) to keep 42cents of the next dollar earned. That’ll get the economy going.
It’s a good thing government is “investing” and “creating jobs” to replace all the productivity, wealth and jobs they’re destroying with their anti-growth policies, chasing climate change unicorn farts with more than enough tax greed to shed their SJW instincts and do a real number on the poorest in society with higher carbon taxes & energy costs. So much for taking care of the most vulnerable in our society for these faux-liberals. They should give money to the “rich;” they’d do a way better job of helping the poor than statism ever could with its inherent transactions of economic decline.
BTW isn’t that basically what Harper said we should do while trying to explain what we shouldn’t do? He will look good compared to the upcoming Grit government by social experiment. His father’s “Just Society” will be replaced with the son’s “Justin Society.” Remember, this is a brilliant man; he nearly finished his Bachelor of Arts at a good school, and apparently got some engineering credits (but math is so hard for him as we’ve seen) so obviously that’s a sign of intelligence, to not finish two degrees.
Anyway, Conservatives have nothing to be ashamed of except for their small contribution over just under 10 years to the deep cynicism and mistrust of politicians that has developed since the days of Pierre, as statists overpromise and underperform, a failing private business cannot withstand. Their solution is always to choke off what’s left of productivity for their “public enterprise.” And this nation goes further into debt, political depravity and loss of economic liberty. Harper was the most liberal of all these progressive clowns, including Mulroney.
