The headline reads: ”Longer federal election campaign forces pollsters to adjust.”
Coming from the CBC, I interpret that as, ”Harper doing better than expected.”
Result of CTV poll after Leader’s Debate:
Who won the Canadian leaders debate? (Total votes 6702)
Stephen Harper
3373 (50 %)
Elizabeth May
757 (11 %)
Tom Mulcair
851 (13 %)
Justin Trudeau
1721 (26%)
There are two sets of laws in Canada. One for us, and one for the TV media! And please do keep in mind that this alleged ”attack” took place at a music festival in Squamish, BC. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/cbc-reporter-megan-batchelor-gets-support-opposition-over-unwanted-kiss-1.3184980
This was my comment on the story, that will most likely be deleted for not being ”politically correct.”
”I’m a guy. How many of us have entered a bar, or a dance or any social event and had a girl come up to us and kissed us, hugged us–whatever?? Usually a total stranger. Could I see myself interpreting this as an act of aggression?? Can you imagine posting the girl’s picture in a public place and suggesting that someone call the RCMP to turn in a girl who’s ” kissed” you?? Why should there be different laws for the media than there is for us??”
And do keep in mind that in order to see this event, this a one day pass was $149.00 and a VIP pass was up to $1299.00. Wonder if the CBC bought a pass to the festival??
@JMW: Thanks for the laugh. I don’t twitter (I’m not a twit, ah,um,… whatever) so I never would have seen the photo of Spielberg or the comments. Very funny.

“Here’s How Elon Musk Gets Tesla to 500,000 Cars a Year by 2020”
“For once, Elon Musk may be right on schedule”
“Tesla’s $31 billion stock value is built on a dream—that a startup might somehow be able to produce a half-million all-electric cars per year by 2020. But a steady drip of production delays and lowered sales forecasts have caused some to question whether his 500,000-car goal is still possible, if it ever was. Here are three charts that show reason for both skepticism and hope.” http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-08-10/here-s-how-elon-musk-takes-tesla-to-500-000-cars-in-five-years

“Tesla burns cash, loses more than $4,000 on every car sold”
“It’s crunch time for Tesla Motors.
The Silicon Valley automaker is losing more than $4,000 on every Model S electric sedan it sells, using its reckoning of operating losses, and it burned $359-million in cash last quarter in a bull market for luxury vehicles. The company on Wednesday cut its production targets for this year and next. Chief Executive Elon Musk said he’s considering options to raise more capital, and didn’t rule out selling more stock.” http://www.theglobeandmail.com/report-on-business/international-business/us-business/tesla-burns-cash-loses-more-than-4000-on-every-car-sold/article25902007/
TESLA should dump the electric powertrain, and drop in a HEMI.
Presto!
Sales in the 300,000’s, more investors etc …..a win win.
They make a snazzy looking set of wheels I’ ll give em that!
Management doesn’t seem to know the role of investors…..
Smoke, meet mirror. Deer, meet headlights. “Protesters interrupt Mulcair book launch to complain about Energy East pipeline.”
“Mulcair was reading passages from his autobiography, “Strength of Conviction,” when a couple of people stood up and unfurled banners and shouted ‘Stop Energy East.’ ”
” ‘If it is found to be incompatible with national action on climate change, will you say no to the pipeline?’ one protester yelled as he was gently escorted out of the room by Mulcair’s security detail. ‘Of course we will,’ Mulcair replied. ‘That’s what the whole purpose of coming in with a new system is: to make sure that we take into account climate change whenever we analyze a project.’
“Both Mulcair and Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau have said they don’t trust the current federal pipeline review process and would introduce what they call stricter and more thorough analyses of proposed energy projects.”
Let me reword that question for you Mr Mulcair “when (not if), the pipeline is found to be incompatible with national action on climate change, will you say no to the pipeline? That’s exactly how they’ll kill it, while pretending to be for it during the campaign, as Harper has and will continue to state.
They’re dreaming even more than usual if they think Harper will them snow Canadians with this duplicitous garbage, masquerading as policy. Canadians are unlikely to accept the ideas that trucking and railing crude is more “compatible with action on climate change” so, “we’ll just have to leave the oil in the ground.”
No way Mulcair can quiet his waffle watermelon extremists, like these protesters and the new poster child for the NDP’s not so secret agenda, Linda McQuaig, who should have sent a transcript of her interview to Tory headquarters to save them the trouble of googling it when preparing their attack ad for which she had given them invaluable material. http://www.nationalnewswatch.com/2015/08/10/protesters-interrupt-mulcair-book-launch-to-complain-about-energy-east-pipeline/#.VckFDPbbKM9

None of these advocacy groups should be funded from tax dollars, whether they be pro Arab, Israeli, gay, straight, whatever. That’s not what government is for. Cut them all off!
Amazingly, some people took it for real.

A gun violence tax ? That should put the fear of the IRS into the black gang bangers. You would think something this stupid could only come out of California or New York but Seattle is trying hard to be #1 in stupidity.
