The silver lining is that the amount of political capital required to maintain this charade was already extinguished long before Inauguration Day, now the swamp is selling the furniture but alas nothing seems to be working.

Prospects for 2022 weren’t looking too bad for the GOP a few weeks ago, as the seats up for grabs then favoured GOP outcomes.

Democrats introduce their first bill in the House: H.R.1 – The bill that will destroy America. Nationwide mail-in voting, banning restrictions on ballot harvesting, banning voter ID, criminal voters, DC Statehood roadwork, it’s all in here.
But waitaminute. Were we not told over the past four years, when Trump wanted to have voter ID and the like that voting was strictly a state responsibility and the federal government had no say-so in how the individual states run their elections for federal offices.
The way of life that is caused by what we see in this video is what happens to nations before they fall. It’s inevitable because of the degradation to every facet of our lives this human condition brings. It is a human condition. It’s in everyone and those that succumb to these ideals suffer and cause society to suffer. Those that reject this side of ourselves are better people for it and thus make society better.
We can see society turning into more of a shit hole year after year and yet allow it. Might is right. The tearing down of our way of life is done by varying degrees of force. So just let it go down the shitter? The core beliefs of their way of life and our way of life are incompatible. You CANNOT have both, they override each other.
So those of us that see this and would immediately (if we actually had support) stop allowing it and walk back any advances. We don’t deserve the society that others are allowing. But those that are ok with how things are going deserve what ever comes because of it. You end up losing the society you won’t forcible defend because the other side wants their society and will force it on you.
Yes, completely incompatible. Accommodation, co-existence, compromise and negotiation are, at this point, pipe dreams. How we “got here” is irrelevant. It is a winner-take-all situation in which the stakes could not be greater. You either defeat the enemy or the enemy defeats you. It is just that simple (and stark).

The Republican Party has splintered into factions, so diffuse that they battled on both sides of the recent election.
One hopes that some sense of reality will eventually intrude:
Establishment politicians should think long and hard before turning President Trump into the American equivalent of Alexei Navalny.
Navalny is Putin’s major opponent-jailed, harassed, imprisoned, poisoned.
Turning President Trump into a martyr will deepen political conflict.
“Purse from a sow’s ear” comes to mind.
As I’ve said before here, compassion will be our defeat. In our overwhelming compassion we have allowed ourselves to be dominated by our lessors. We have allowed crooks, thugs, perverts, psychos, and all manner of fringe minorities to dictate to us how we are to be allowed to live our lives. We have only ourselves to blame. Instead of abiding by laws that have taken us out of the caves and created a functioning society, we have allowed the basest of us to amend or cancel these laws for their benefit and we are now all the worse for it. All in the name of compassion because we felt sorry for these ….. Words fail me, but perhaps dregs of society would encompass and describe those that now rule over us.

In the end we form feudal enclaves to save what we can and exclude by whatever means necessary the fools who destroy.

When civilization falls,you only build/grow what you can protect or carry.
Thus there is no excess wealth to support the parasites.
They revert to open banditry and then we can deal with them at will.
