Nixon’s problems were in the days before people realized that most mainstream media is fake news favouring the Democrats. Nixon’s problem was that the Republicans panicked and were unwilling to support him. By doing so, the outcome for the Republicans was likely worse than had they supported him. After all Nixon’s crime was not ratting out his friends once he discovered illegal actions, which is not a crime.
While he has been mocked and reviled for resigning, he was an honourable man for doing so . Had he not left office when he did, and how he did, it would have been detrimental to his country because of the efforts to have him removed.

The testimony by Comey that AG Lynch & Debbie W.S. communicated that Hillary would not be Charged…, This must be explained in light of the FBI not pursuing the DNC server, allowing the CIA operatives to remove the evidence & claim the Russians had hacked the server….
The AG Barr has to get ahead of the Civil lawsuits (Like Trump suing Comey) and indict those that committed crimes… They get to defend themselves, considered innocent until proven Guilty… The system does punish those that find themselves under indictment by a grand jury. It’s the process stupid.

Nixon is a thoroughly overrated president. His economic policies were senseless, he did nothing to control the environmental movement, he refused to do what victory required in Vietnam, all American workers are still paying for his recognition of Red China, and his refusal to send military aid to Israel on account of his gutter anti-Semitism almost started World War Three.
The Democratic attempt to overturn the 1972 election in which they ran the one candidate unable to beat Nixon does not excuse Nixon’s criminal negligence.
1. Nixon did break the law – caught on tape – on obstruction. He had Barry Goldwater in his camp until that evidence was found and likely would not have been compelled to resign had that evidence not been found. So he did not get a raw deal.
2. Comey is still part of a broader investigation and hopefully will be charged on those items in time – and there was no smoking gun /”tape” found a la Nixon in the leaking case.
3. Patience – I trust Barr is not going to let this go – I think Andrew McCarthy is right about this…

No indictments take place without US Attorney Jessie Liu signing off on it from her position of US Attorney of DC. She turned down the #3 position in the DOJ to remain the gatekeeper for these future criminal referrals. What indictments has she turned down so far? Anwan, Wolfe, McCabe, now Comey. (not to mention the three FBI execs that were caught accepting gifts from the press for information).
They can’t fire her. Why? Because, some sanctimonious idiot had the idea of enticing her out of the “gatekeeper” position with a promotion. So, how do you fire a minority female who a year ago you offered a promotion. You can’t.

No one gets indicted, because the person instituted into the position that pursues indictments (and the witnesses that solidify those indictments…which is actually more important) is bought and paid for. The only prayer of getting it past that goalkeeper is to recuse her from the decision on the Class 1 FISA warrants. You see, she wormed her way onto Trump’s Transition Team, so it’s a pretty good bet that existing in the same circle as Manafort, Page and Papa…her privacy rights were, also, violated directly related to the case, and therefore a conflict of interest. But, they won’t do it. THey don’t have the marbles.
