Went down town today.
A lot of people everywhere. Then lo and behold, the drama queen. Not the Star Trek guy.
It was a bizarre sight. Must have been like 20-30 cameras and microphones very tightly in front and around of this character. It was as tight as though they we jellied into one blob. If it was green you could call it green slime.
It sort of looked as a defense against plebeians, lest they ask an uncomfortable question.
This was Calgary today.
Another doomsday scenario that isn’t.

Personally I like theory #4
Things in Iraq are getting messy. Iran, Russia and the USA are all tripping over each other to fight the rebels where the logical course of action is to let them kill each other off and then talk to the winners, or better yet……..why bother ?

“as compared to the dire alarmism favored by our media.”
I find just the opposite. The genuine alarm that should be there is papered over by a media that can’t see the destructive policies that a incompetent POTUS is forcing on a compliant politically correct electorate. The USA still has many things people can be proud of, but they are disappearing at a alarming rate.
Thanks for the Summertime Blues.
Enjoy

This would be the worst choice for Canada. We don’t need stealth fighters, we need waterbombers, arctic patrol aircraft, SAR aircraft, and more cargo aircraft like the 17 C130J SuperHercs we’ve ordered.
Stealth fighters are like high performance women and cars. It’s better to rent as needed rather than buy a high maintenance toy.

How the hell does cutting health care to refugees violate the freaking Trudeau Charter? Does the Charter cover people from the entire world who step onto our soil? How can we sustain a health care system if we are to pay for all comers as well as our own people who pay for it?

Existing aircraft do that job just fine. The US Navy uses the same aircraft. The “nuke bombers” are older than the aircraft we use to intercept them. New single engine stealth fighters are not needed.
Have a nice day Louise
Science is open to error, misinterpretation and even fraud
By Joel Achenbach July 3
Since science is a human enterprise, it is open to error, misinterpretation and, rarely but notoriously, fraud and fakery. Here’s a rundown of a few science mishaps, misapprehensions and debatable interpretations in recent years.

Capitalism does not “run amok”, although its enemies often do.
The foundation of the economy is the voluntary trade of goods and services between individuals for mutual benefit based on their respective valuation of the goods and services. This is how the standard of living is raised.
The political / economic system that respects individual value judgments and voluntary trade is capitalism. It cannot “run amok”. Politicians who interfere with this voluntary trade to the detriment of the standard of living, however, can and frequently do. Then they often try to blame it on capitalism, but it’s the enemies of capitalism who are responsible. Capitalism is still as just and as beneficial as ever.
