  1. Miller-Young claims she is ‘morally justified. She told police that images of aborted fetuses “triggered” her to act the way she did, and that she felt she had set a good example for her students by physically confronting the teenage demonstrator.’
She has certainly contorted her moral compass.

  2. “The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.”
    Yeats
Keep your convictions and defend them loud and proud, it’s the only way to scare off the loons.
But like another wise man once said “They are easily startled, but will soon be back, and in greater numbers.”
    *heh*

  3. Being charged with a misdemeanor is grounds for immediate termination in my field (nuclear engineering). It ought to be grounds for immediate termination at universities as well. Particularly considering that it is a violent crime. I won’t hold my breath.
Also, what about the theft? Can’t she be charged with that also?

  4. Doesn’t this “triggering” thing just mean that you can commit assault if you feel p*ssed off?

  5. Yep. It’s the old Ike Turner defense, prized by wife-beaters everywhere. “She made me do it.”

  6. …grounds for immediate termination…
Particularly in this case because the nutty professor committed the offence through her capacity as an officer of the institution.

  7. This is a classic example of the Loonie Left squaring off with Righteous Right. The pro-lifers were not enrolled at the university so technically they are trespassing. The pinko prof came unglued at the sight of photoshopped images and lost it in a manner that only liberal-socialists know how to do. The buzzer should have sounded twice as they’re both in the wrong!

  8. If it weren’t for universities, she’d be doling out $5 BJs in an alley in some ghetto. Hurrah for social justice!

  9. So much for the notion of ‘free inquiry’ in a university setting.
But then considering the practice of abortion would probably be approved by the “Dr Mengele” types in the story below; what should we expect from so called profs ‘studying’ the results of the latest orgy?
Maybe she needs a moral compass adjustment…if she feels uncomfortable maybe it would lead one the questioning the unrestrained practice of offing children.

Aborted babies incinerated to heat UK hospitals
The remains of more than 15,000 babies were incinerated as ‘clinical waste’ by hospitals in Britain with some used in ‘waste to energy’ plants
The bodies of thousands of aborted and miscarried babies were incinerated as clinical waste, with some even used to heat hospitals, an investigation has found.
Ten NHS trusts have admitted burning foetal remains alongside other rubbish while two others used the bodies in ‘waste-to-energy’ plants which generate power for heat.
Last night the Department of Health issued an instant ban on the practice which health minister Dr Dan Poulter branded ‘totally unacceptable.’
At least 15,500 foetal remains were incinerated by 27 NHS trusts over the last two years alone, Channel 4’s Dispatches discovered.
The programme, which will air tonight, found that parents who lose children in early pregnancy were often treated without compassion and were not consulted about what they wanted to happen to the remains.

  10. “Miller-Young defended her actions and told the police she felt morally justified”
So in the professor’s mind a difference of opinion justifies violence. Bet she has a Che T-shirt in her closet.
The university has a designated free speech area? That would mean that the other areas of the university are non-free speech zones, contrary to the 1st amendment and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Where does the university grant itself the power to deny a basic human right?

  11. Nothing will happen to her. Fat, black, lesbian professor. Which touchstone do you all think will help her the most?
$20 says Holder pulls off the cops due to being “his people”.

  12. Congratulations, you have just found a way by which global warming alarmists, eco-nasties and professional protesters can contribute to society as the cold part of the climate cycle kicks in.
Who knew that there was a way for these 10-10 types to contribute in a meaningful way?
As 15000 babies produced X calories of heat, adults garbage would product 5 to 10 times the calories of beneficial heat.
    Hmmmm.
As for the useless parasite, if convicted, no fine nor jail time.
She being a progressive cannot be expected to be responsible for her violent outbursts and “acting out”.

  13. “The pro-lifers were not enrolled at the university so technically they are trespassing.”
A person isn’t trespassing, technically or otherwise, unless told they are trespassing by the appropriate authority and then continue to be present where they have been told they cannot be because of the known restriction. Universities that receive public funds are technically public places. Yes, even public places may have restricted areas.

  14. Sean >
    “Fat, black, lesbian professor.”
Oprah will wave her own fat black hand and have her exonerated. Then a “special guest” appearence and a NY times best selling book about evil white people.
    She’s good.

  15. Many universities here in glorious and free Canada do not allow Pro-Life groups to congregate on campus and if they are brave enough to do so, are routinely harassed by police or campus security. Just like the bubble zones around abortion clinics, there are apparently bubble zones around universities. Some of them even have bubble zones to protect them from alternate idea people like Ann Coulter or anyone in support of Israel.

  16. Seven million people died as a result of air pollution in 2012, the World Health Organization estimates.
Its findings suggest a link between air pollution and heart disease, respiratory problems and cancer.
One in eight global deaths were linked with air pollution, making it “the world’s largest single environmental health risk”, the WHO said.

  17. Nothing new here. Some fat, useless person throws a tantrum and tramples over everyone else’s rights. That’s been done before.
Incidents like these make it more and more incumbent on university administration and students to fire people like Young and make students fees voluntary. Universities can’t always rely on gullible snowflakes and Asian exchange students forever. Something IS going to give and if they want to stay afloat, universities had better wise up about crackpots.

  18. May I just inquire as to why anyone here wants that professor and her little thug/acolytes to have children and perpetuate their kind.

  19. When you think about it, a university that feels it needs a “free speech area” shouldn’t be calling itself an institution of higher learning. Are classrooms not “free speech areas”? Then they’re not places for education.

  20. “….the images triggered her to act the way she did”. That is either the lamest excuse I’ve ever heard or if she really means it then that’s evidence that she has behavioural/anger management issues that should keep her from ever going into a classroom.
I hope she loses her job over this but that’s not likely to happen in lefty California.
