Apparently, it’s only a ‘limited cruise missile attack’ for two days…they’ll all be home for Christmas.
What could possibly go wrong?

Well, at least they have a clear, simple, achievable objective:
Be seen to be doing “something.”
Good one Hans. A close friend of my Mother’s went to Honk Kong, with assurances that he’d “be home by Christmas”.
In 1946,he arrived back home,a shell of the robust farm boy he’d been, and remarked to Mom,”they were right about being home by Christmas. They just didn’t mention that it’d be Christmas six years later”.
Now Obama plans a two day strike. That isn’t “getting involved” and I’m sure no one will be offended. The Prez should listen to Russia and China on this one.No one has proved who used the chem weapons.
But I suppose anything to distract from his mess at home.
Putin has it right.
He’s backing the least repulsive.
Obama, on the other hand, always backs the rebels … like the weapons they gave to the Libyian al-Quaeda to overthrow Khaddafi.
As bad as all the middle east despots were, at least they’re not total loons like Obama’s heroes.
If we just keep our asses out of the Middle East they will be killing each other for the next 100 years. Western involvement, whichever side we pick, will simply unite them so they will be killing us instead. We have look the other way through tens of millions of killings around the world. So someone gasses a few hundred people in Syria, big deal. We do not belong there.
“The administration has deliberately left itself almost no room for manoeuvre – its credibility would now be zero if it failed to take some form of military action”
What a bunch of BS. Chief-in-Chimp Obumbles and his cadre have had zero credibility since day 1.
I just pray PMSH and his puppy Baird have the guts to tell Obumbles and NATO and the Useless Nations to F.CK OFF.
It’s kind of attending a Red Sox-Yankees game: you show up to cheer but wish that they could both lose.
The course recommended by Justthinkin could be needlessly provocative. Why don’t we send a ship from Halifax in the hope that it will all be over by the time it arrives in the area.
if the west had NOT done “something” the kommies would your masters today, take into consideration that many in here would not support a world wide “caliph” one has to wonder when and were it would be a good time/place to start the stopping of these extremists. Add in that this is not so much about Syria as it is about Iran, then the na sayers start to sound uninformed and foolish, just saying. Oh, and don’t forget that Iran is close to having the “bomb” with which they can threaten their neighbours and we can wind up behind the 8 ball real quick. I would suggest some of the armchair wizzards in here stick to mulling about god inventing math!!!
Another cogent analysis:
http://www.cdrsalamander.blogspot.ca/2013/08/syria-subjective-desires-fed-by.html
Has anyone explained what the point of this is? Something like 100,000 were killed before the chemical attack, so don’t give me “humanitarian mission” nonsense. The rebels are as bad or worse for the Amreicans than Assad so this isn’t about unseating an unfriendly dictator. Iran? The mullahs aren’t going to back off nukes cause of a few cruise missiles.
Is this just to signal to the Russians to back off in the Middle East? Is it cause of Obama’s stupid red line comment? What a pointless exercise this all is.
Yeah well,
……”Monkey with a hand grenade”……
pretty much……
This is not going to end well. Message to Obama voters: Saudi Arabia puppet.
I’ll be waiting for the attack on Mugabe soon….no double standards or anything like that going on.
Oh, and don’t forget that Iran is close to having the “bomb” with which they can threaten their neighbours and we can wind up behind the 8 ball real quick.
NME666, if I thought for a minute that the Muslims could be trusted to not lob a nuke towards Israel or a Christian nation, I’d sell them as many as they could afford and let the children of Amalek themselves do Israel’s dirty work of destroying Amalek’s cities, never to be re-built.
The stupidity and short tempers of the Amalekites being what they are, the job would be done within the month. Israel would come into its full inheritance at last, a vast domain the size of Ontario, stretching from Cairo to Baghdad, with more than enough oil wealth to pay for a nice national dividend for her people till the day of judgment (the one the Saudis are helping themselves to now), and ensure that no man dared mock or defy Israel or her God again.
As it is, let the children of Amalek slaughter each other like the wild animals they are. The angels rejoice at the sight of the destruction of the cities of Amalek, and at the sound of the lamentation of their women, bawling at the sight of the corpses of their mates and their pups, the way a child does when she burns herself on a hot stove, no matter how often her mother warned her to leave the stove be. The faithful should rejoice with them.
We should only intervene if there is a real risk that Israel or Christendom are threatened. Then, we should not hesitate to unleash the power with which God created the universe, and which he revealed to Christendom and Jewry, to wipe Amalek from the face of the earth.
(Yes, that includes thse Amalekites styling themselves Christians, who for all that never had the faith in God to fight Islam till victory or martyrdom. Teaching my parrot to say the Lord’s Prayer doesn’t make him a Christian. Let this not be the next excuse to import more “refugees” to clean the toilets of Toronto banksters, much less more Sammy Yatims.)
SEND IN THE JOURNALISTS!
Is this the beginning of the end?
Monkey with a hand grenade!?!? Doesn’t Putin know that that kind of speech is racist?
I believe I share this sentiment with many – Can’t they both lose?
The language was purposeful.
I’ve also amused myself with the help of a search engine

So the US is going to attack a Ba’athist state over WMD’s?
#BlameBush #OhButThat’sDifferentYouDon’t’Understand
Putin is playing with Obama like a cat plays with a two legged mouse.
Barry is in way over his head, he does not have game for the Great Game.
God help America with such a clueless, spineless CiC
If you’re worried about a world wide Caliphate, please note that Obama always seems to support the folks who want exactly that.
The example of Stalin when the Polish army revolted against the Nazis springs to mind.
Let them fight. We win, either way.
No, send one from Esquimault. And the long way round.
Personally I hope Obumbum should go for it, a Syrian war would be the most unpopular war ever – despised by left and right alike – could be the thing that makes the globalists flush Barry for a new puppet.
…flush Barry … conjures up an interesting image. At least in my mind.
This situation reminds me of a scene from the movie, “The Boys of Company C”. They got tired of being hammered by friendly artillery fire, so they sent them some bogus coordinates. Two of the guys were having a fairly intense dicussion with the artillery landing and making a racket in the background, when a particularly loud and bright explosion caused their conversation to pause as they looked toward the quickly fading flash. “Nice one,” one of them said. “Yeah, it was,” came the reply, and they promptly resumed their discussion.
Are we doing anything differently in Syria? I tend to think that this is the right response…
Thanks for the kudos don; as one wag paraphrasing Pelosi on “Obomba-care” noted:
“We have to bomb Syria to find out what’s in it!”
Of course they could have used something much more deadly than nerve agent VX gas; they could have used CO2 (carbon dioxide), which as we know, by all the global warming propaganda, is ‘gassing the planet’…
But hey, you know, its hard to have priorities, when you’re a Nobel Peace Prize winner and you have to identify “moral obscenities”.
Naturally, all the sabre rattling by Iran now, threatening Israel if Syria is attacked, because the arms conduit by Hezbollah through Syria to Lebanon might be in jeopardy…because everyone has a ‘roasting chestnut in this fire’ they want to retrieve.
Russia and China get all torqued up as Iran is a ‘client state’ and your off to the horse races.
http://www.equiworld.net/breeds/trakhener/index.htm
http://www.equiworld.net/breeds/russiantrakhener/index.htm
Maybe they should solve this by having a horse race, I’m sure the Saudis could come up with a few choice Arabians to throw into the mix.

The American and European “liberal” “elites” have decided to back Al Qaeda and the jihadists.
Is this a surprise?
No!
As long as Obambam doesn’t mention anything about weapons of mass distruction……
Our last cruise missile attack- 1998
Bill Clinton killed some goats and camels, Obamer will probably f*ck it up.
The missiles were launched,
Several hit the Al-Shifa pharmaceutical factory, which the United States claimed was helping Osama bin Laden, the mastermind of the embassy attacks, build chemical weapons.
Richard Clarke stated that intelligence existed linking Osama bin Laden to Al-Shifa’s current and past operators, namely the Iraqi nerve gas.
Officials later acknowledged, however, that “the evidence that prompted President Clinton to order the missile strike on the Shifa plant was not as solid as first portrayed.”
The Al-Shifa factory was Sudan’s primary source of pharmaceuticals, covering the majority of the Sudanese market. Werner Daum (Germany’s ambassador to Sudan 1996–2000) wrote an article in which he estimated that the attack “probably led to tens of thousands of deaths from disease” of Sudanese civilians.
FORWARD !
I agree. It is fallacy to believe that if we just stay-out they will leave us alone.
This is all part of the plan. It’s pure deception. The cruise missiles will be launched and will hit the Iranian nuclear facilities. Israel will join in the attack. Later, maybe a matter of hours later when the world is distracted by the attack on Iran, a major offensive will be launched by the South Koreans against the North. U.S. tactical nuclear weapons will be used to insure Kim Jong Un is killed. After these things happen, the world will cheer and Obama’s legacy will be fulfilled and we will all live in the golden glow of rightousness.
That sounds like a Tom Clancy novel.
Biden push for impeachment? Heck. He probably doesn’t even know what the word means.
Well, if everything at home is turning to crap, diverting attention is always a tried and true method to take the heat off the incompetence in your own back yard. After the gong show in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia,Libya and Egypt, there should be plenty of entertainment to keep our minds off the degrading situation over here. I just hope they understand that both sides in Syria hate us and the only way to win this one is to turn the whole damned place into a parking lot, along with Iran. Stock up on popcorn for this show. It will be a long one.
Actually …. since Obama’s endgame is to cause as much harm to the USA as possible … it makes perfect sense.
For the umpteenth time … Know Your Enemy.
U mean George soros????
actually I think the rest of the democraps are pushing Obumbles to grow a spine before the mid-terms
Willy Clinton has already spouted, to fellow democraps, that Obumbles is totally incompetant
and I wonder if Valerie Jarret agrees:-)))
obama plays checkers – Putin plays chess.
Obama plays checkers? Please! He has difficulty with the complexity of Tiddly Winks.
On a somewhat more serious note:
http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/press/release.cfm?id=7029&cat=press-release
“MSF can neither scientifically confirm the cause of these symptoms nor establish who is responsible for the attack,” said Dr. Janssens. “However, the reported symptoms of the patients, in addition to the epidemiological pattern of the events—characterized by the massive influx of patients in a short period of time, the origin of the patients, and the contamination of medical and first aid workers—strongly indicate mass exposure to a neurotoxic agent. This would constitute a violation of international humanitarian law, which absolutely prohibits the use of chemical and biological weapons.”
In addition to 1,600 vials of atropine supplied over recent months, MSF has now dispatched 7,000 additional vials to facilities in the area. Treatment of neurotoxic patients is now being fully integrated into MSF’s medical strategies in all its programs in Syria.
“MSF hopes that independent investigators will be given immediate access to shed light on what happened,” said Christopher Stokes, MSF general director. “This latest attack and subsequent massive medical need come on top of an already catastrophic humanitarian situation, characterised by extreme violence, displacement, and deliberate destruction of medical facilities. In the case of such extreme violations of humanitarian law, humanitarian assistance cannot respond effectively and becomes meaningless itself.”
So either there is a ‘red line’ or there is not…so it is incumbent on our so called ‘leaders’ to find out the nature and identity of the neuro-toxic agent and the perps…
Alternatively, the response is to ‘green light’ neuro-toxic agent use as a method of dispute ‘resolution’, which brings up a whole host of other issues.

Hans
Respectfully,,
From the article you linked to;
Due to significant security risks, MSF staff members have not been able to access the facilities.
“Medical staff working in these facilities provided detailed information to MSF doctors regarding large numbers of patients arriving with symptoms including convulsions, excess saliva, pinpoint pupils, blurred vision and respiratory distress,” said Dr. Bart Janssens, MSF director of operations.
I just don’t trust the “sources”.
As in MB plants? There have been no shortage of bodies laying around in that area with all of the killing of Christians to stage a morgue.
Maybe those were the symptoms and maybe not.
1,600 vials of atropine supplied over recent months
Why the slow build up for that area and who ordered it,,, the Syrian army or MB?
Just because they shipped the drug doesn’t necessarily prove their diagnosis. As they said, they don’t know. (and yes, neither do I)
This whole Gas/chemical thing is just too convenient for the MB, especially after all the killing of Christians that didn’t mean whoop to the US State Dep.
Why would the Syrian Army use Gas/Chemicals? They could have kept hammering the rebels with all means of conventional arms with a trained control and command structure already in place.
All I’m trying to point out is why I remain highly suspect of any news re this “atrocity”.
Of course you can be cynical of the story, but the organization Doctors Without Borders is hardly to be described as taking a political stand on one side or the other.
They just report the facts, of the patients that they treat and see dying; they don’t make any political judgements.
Cheers

“Of course you can be cynical of the story, but the organization Doctors Without Borders is hardly to be described as taking a political stand on one side or the other.”
I’m sorry Hans, but that is a patently false statement. I will grant you that the inspectors have without doubt seen evidence of chemical weapons use, but that point is moot and you know it.
Lots of arabs in our town. (Oil industry hotbed).
Is atropine freely available at small chain drugstores??
If ever there was a conflict to stay out of this would be it. Let Al Quaeda take out Assad and then mop them up after if needed. With any luck these guys will turn the place into Somalia and it’ll be one less arab state to worry about.
I truly believe that the only thing stopping a hit on Obummer is knowing that stupid uncle Joe would be pres.
Maybe we should send a sub.
