As the article notes, essentially Cuba will be taking oil that should belong to us. In the end, it doesn’t really matter whether that’s due to incompetence or design.
It’s looking more like design every day.
Unintended consequences:
Obama said “Energy prices will necessarily skyrocket” – presumably due to his imposing carbon taxes or carbon trading, but they are falling instead, as a result of his administration’s mishandling of the economy, bringing a double-dip recession.
Ironic that communist Cuba has permitted offshore exploration while the USA, icon of free enterprise, prohibits it.
Each needs the revenue desperately, but only one of the two governments has the sense to realize it.

Obama’s policies have a definite pattern to them.
If he was just incompetent the law of large numbers would dictate that he’d do something good for America at least some of the time.

Drill Comrade, drill sums up Obama’s plans for the US. First him and Soros make a deal with Marxist Brazil and now appear to wink when Cuba gets in on it and all the while hamstring efforts in the Gulf.

Jimmy Carter had no business ‘splitting the difference’ in an area too small for his agreement with Cuba to be beneficial to the US and he had to know it.
Obama also knows exactly what he is doing and is working overtime to lay the foundation that will end choice in politics and culture for all Americans.

What about that inconvenient 1977 treaty US President Carter signed? A treaty with communist Cuba that essentially split the difference and created for Cuba an “exclusive economic zone” extending from the western tip of Cuba northward virtually to Key West.
