Hmpf. We’ll see how much dissension he allows in the comments. As I told him, I am pretty conservative and a Christian and this doesn’t begin to even approach my thoughts on the matter, or those of any conservative Christians with whom I have regular contact. The easiest arguments to win are the straw man arguments.

In fact, Dr Dawg writes, “Readers who have been following the case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, the Iranian woman convicted of adultery, will be pleased to learn that the original sentence of death by stoning will not be carried out.”
It seems to me that he is refering to his own readership and their pleasure in the change of execution techniques.
And just because the opportunity to say something nasty should never go to waste, we get, “unless you are Sarah Palin’s daughter, adultery is a punishable offense. God says so”.
Might be the consequences of too much acid during the ’70s. I guess it’s hard to know.

Very enlightening. It seems this Progressive would like to tie all religions in one bag and claim that they’re all crazy. This is an example of the strange alliances on the political Left I’ve spoken of before. Secular Progressives will argue that all religions are the same, and are the blight of humanity. What about the Progressives that are not secular? How do the Blacks and Latinos respond to this?
The glue that binds the Left together is public money. Without it, these interest groups would be at each others throats. Instead, they wage a war against a common foe that would cut their funding; while the people these groups claim to represent wonder WTF.
Warning: Reading progressive blather can lead to headaches. Trying to understand their logic will leave a mark.

On another note….we should stop using the word “progressive”. The word is essentially a positive one and therefore is misleading in regard to the left. Let’s use the correct words instead. Use “Marxist” or “radical leftist” or “communist”. That is far more accurate and we don’t get into playing the word game with the looney left.
