Fascinating. Graphs of any type always put things into perspective. Notice Canada – a thin, thin line attached to the USA. And Mexico, which is busy offloading its entire lower class on to the USA – not as thin as Canada.
However, there are other variables that can be graphed and the results would differ. Pick any variable. Arable land. Water resources. Energy resources. Education. Scientific productivity. Innovations. Manufacturing. Size of middle class. And so on.

Nothing like a graph – actually, I think Einstein claimed that we actually think in diagrams (and so did my favorite thinker, Charles Peirce).

Last night a CBC-picked commentator criticized Stephen Harper for flirting with joining the Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate (AP6).
She said the AP6 would distract from the “real work” of climate change being done — i.e., Kyoto, and UN-led-initiatives.
The Kyoto accord specifically exempted two of the world’s top polluters — China and India.
The AP6 includes them.
It consists of Australia, China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea and the United States.
Look at the “big boxes” –China, India, and the United States.
Apparently not sufficient to be considered the real world.
According to the CBC.
And the enviromentalists wacko will claim it will bring harm to the wild life well FEED THE ECO-WACKOS TO THE SKUAS

It boggles the mind how Kate can come up with so many ‘smacks-on-the-forehead’.
I would now like to see a map of the number of square meters a citizen of each country has available to occupy. I would bet Canada would be huge.
Because Canada has few people but makes up a huge part of the Earth’s surface, I would think we would rank way up there when it comes to dispersing our emmisions.
But did Chretien make this point before signing Kyoto ?? NO. Who were his advisers anyways ?? Maurice Strong ?? Kinsella ?? Suzuki ??
right and the emissions graph would look about the same. except warm countries dont emit as much cold countries and poor countries that farm with animals and dont have any transportion systems and use night soil(their own $hit) for fertilizer and import their food for the starving masses dont emit as much.
This is a crappy graphic representation.
Why?
Basically said, humans have trouble making quicky area comparisons. i.e. It’s hard to compare two cubes and say that one has 100% more area (2x) than another.
Added to that you have the fact that these things aren’t even regular cubes, they are variable dimensioned rectangles.
Almost hopeless as a displayer of quantitative information that can be rapidly compared. A simple BAR graph is a light year better than this.
Cute though.
my point is that the Lieberals signed away an economy for 3% of the worlds population when the 3 biggest blocks arent even included. China has a free for all, India the same and the US didnt sign. and the russkie are out too. the only population centres that signed up are the ones with declining populations . cold countries with inclining populations and large transportation distances would never have signed off on such a stupid premise.

Au contraire mon frere. It’s a basic human emissions chart sans mechanical activity. Suzuki & co. are already shading the larger blocks for soylent green production.
actually areas of squares or rectangles ( not volumes like cubes) are one of the best representations. it was an old propoganda tool to use a one dimensionallinear graph like a bar graph but use a figure with two dimensions like an ear of corn and proportionally inflate both dimensions to show huge growth. but these are true representations. and the stretch on the rectangles mimics the approximate orientation of the country. I think its ingenious. why may chile into a square.

There is one thing that the leftist idiots ignore when it comes to pollution,China and India are by far the worst poluters in the world! By comparing pollution per capita their numbers come down.When the west invents new technology and fewer people do the same work ie.no till farming,our numbers go up.I would like to meet our representatives at the Kyota meeting and find out if they even had brains enough to dress themselves.

I sent an e-mail to New Scientist Technology News and mentioned to them that the USA was not the “largest producer of greenhouse gases” but they decided that they did not need to change that info on their “challenging climate myths” article.
Oh well.
Primitive agrarian societies tend to overpopulate when their ability to produce food exceeds their personal needs.
Also when the sun sets in these societies, and the lights go out, they reward themselves with a bit of baby-making recreation .. after all what other pleasures do they have in their pathetic lives..??
