  1. Thank you for this video, Kate. I enjoyed it very much!
It made me wonder if bush planes couldn’t play a role in resurrecting “Empty Spain”. Almost made me want to learn Spanish and how to fly!

    1. Bush planes are hardly needed in Spain because almost all towns and villages aren’t that far from other towns and villages and usually have road connections, almost always paved.

Sure, there a remote places here and there but they are usually tucked away in rugged terrain where a bush plane couldn’t land.

      1. By the way, Spain’s average elevation is Europe’s third highest. Switzerland is first and Austria second.

  2. We have stayed a few times for 1-3 months in a small village south of Granada, 50 residents, some expats from UK, Swiss. The local families own orchards, harvest olives, figs, almonds, grapes. Very tranquil.
The shool closed, not enough children, but it may come back. It’s very affordable, transport necessary. 6 km walk to bus.

  3. Silly me….I was wondering if they had the correct permits. Rebuilding buildings without bureaucratic oversight…..how can that be?

    1. Knowing Spain, it’s maybe yes and maybe no. The thing about Spain and other Euro nations is there are a lot of laws, rules and regulations but relatively little enforcement of same.

That’s for two reasons: there aren’t enough people hired to enforce all the nonsense because it’s a huge tangled web spread across so many activities and a lot of the so-called enforcers just can’t be bothered dealing with much of it

      1. Additionally, most of the enforcers can be bought off with a little under-the-table money. Or wine.
