And there’s always the claim that while warmer than normal is climate change, cooler than normal is just weather.
This arctic outbreak is a good one. One site I frequent picked up on it over a month ago and by mid-November was saying that it may be the coldest late Nov thru Dec period since 1968. The site was Weatherbell …. the Saturday summary.
I enjoy seeing the eastern bastards freeze after their GLO-BULL warning nonsense for the last 20 years.

It is a modeled study …. if you have ever used models in real life you know they are garbage in garbage out and generally are written to show the answer which is desired. I think that this is the equivalent of trying to raise sea level by pissing in the ocean. Add it to the pile of scary climate change stories, each story scarier than the last scary story.
From the article: In the study, researchers modeled observed changes in the drift of Earth’s rotational pole and the movement of water. Across varying scenarios, the only model that matched the drift was one that included 2,150 gigatons of groundwater distribution.
So you take a result that fits a model and that is the explanation (correlation = causation). One of my favorites is Mike’s nature trick where climate scientists spliced annual temperature data onto a few ice core proxy datasets and concluded the recent warming is unprecedented. When I looked at the data sets (Epic and Vostok) there is no data for the past 80-90 years (due to surface melting and remixing) and the average time interval between measurements is 10 years (so about 8 data points over 150 years). From that data which has a peak variance of +/- 1.5 deg C, they are able to explain a gradual 0.8 deg C rise that happened over 150 years. It would be easier to prove the existence of God.
What is that in degrees? 0.0002 of an arc-second? OH NOES!!!!

Being an ancient Boomer, IMHO this year is a Normal winter. We got a little snow in November, normal. We have some snow on the ground now, normal. Looking for a White Christmas this year, NORMAL.
Come the January Thaw I’ll get my bike out and go for a rip. That’s my eeevile plan, anyway. Friday the 13th is in February this year, I guess we’ll see if I can make it the 30 miles to Port Dover. ~:D
Completely f-ing normal, nothing to get your knickers in a twist about. Every year when I was a kid had snow by December. That’s why we got skis and toboggans for Christmas.
But what’s on the media? SNOWPOCALYPSE!!!!11! It’s the end of the world!!!!!! Which I only know because I get alerts on my phone, as I avoid mass media like the Plague. Thank you, Samsung.
You know, at some point they are going to have to make a decision. They’re going to have to decide when the time is right to deluge the media with stories on how they HAVE saved the planet. And, all the cold temperatures (I’m anticipating a global cooling cycle in the future) are a result of all the glorious, wonderful, and selfless actions they have taken to lower “carbon” output over the years.
They will take credit for natural occurrences just like they blame others for natural occurrences.
CO2 has risen every year since they started this crap.
But the supporters will refuse to bring that up or recognize it. Too stupid to look backwards.
