    1. Yeah….it is amusing how the age limit shifts depending on the issue, isn’t it? One minute they aren’t old enough to really be blamed for their actions and the next they are old enough to vote.

  1. It’d be hilarious if sixteen year olds started to lean heavily conservative.

  2. Well … Nancy Pelosi tried that in the USA. And FAILed. That should tell you all you need to know about giving 16yo’s the vote. Nancy Pelosi.

As a parenthetical … The very FIRST vote I cast as an 18yo … was for Jimmy Carter. By the end of his FAILed term … I was paying 16.5% on my FIRST mortgage. Yeah … I learned of my stupidity … good and HARD! If I had been able to vote as a 16yo … I probably would have voted for Communist George MacGovern in 1972. Yeah, we’re all STUPID when we’re young.

  3. Yeah, the left know that the majority of the young and impressionable will vote left.
Then it’ll be votes for non citizens because they’ll vote left.
And the coup de grace – no votes for those over the age of 65 because they won’t vote left……….

  4. “The Prime Minister said 16 and 17-year-olds were old enough to pay taxes and they should therefore get a say in the running of the country.”

But DO they pay taxes? Here in Canada, students don’t pay taxes.

These kids have had, for their whole lives, everything provided for them. Unless they’ve had a summer job which didn’t go toward supporting themselves.

My opinion is that the voting age should be raised back up to 21. By that age a lot of them will likely havem encountered the real world.
