FBI opens an investigation into James Comey’s honeypot operation to attack Trump’s campaign.
Comey sent two female undercover agents to target campaign figures in a secret, unlogged operation.
One agent now holds a senior FBI role; the other joined the CIA to avoid questioning.
Suddenly, Watergate doesn’t seem to matter much anymore.

The whole basis of the “Honeytrap” (not Honeypot) operation was to solidify the FISA Warrants, and expand their reach. All they needed was for these two women to establish something they deemed shady from any member of the Trump campaign/transition/staff and they would have run over to the friendly neighborhood political hack FISA Judge and secured a warrant.
That warrant, in turn, would allow surveillance (ongoing) on each and every individual their target came in contact with. This may look like Comey is the focus of this new investigation. But, I tend to think Christopher Wray is who they really are looking to hook. Maybe even Goldstein, who had departed quite a while ago.
