  1. If I may paraphrase something that was posted here a month or so ago: “There appears to be some advantage to claim you’re disadvantaged”.

  2. Exactly when did having “indigenous” ancestry become a sure-fire way to be granted approval by the masses?
I don’t care what the ancestry of this blond, blue eyed pretendian is, is she bloody competent, at anything ? Can she balance the budget of a lemonade stand in my neighbourhood?

Why bother with elections if all we are going to do is elevate candidates depending on their diversity and ethnicity? Just put all the names in a barrel and have a monkey from the nearest zoo draw the names and stick ’em in parliament.
For the Senate perhaps we could have a chimp draw the names.

    1. “Just put all the names in a barrel and have a monkey from the nearest zoo draw the names and stick ’em in parliament.”

I’d be all for that. Limited to 1 four year term. Pay them well, but no chance of making politics a career. Something like jury duty, but with reasonable compensation.

  3. If indigenous rights are so important, this behavior should be criminalized.
The fact that, Trudeau, upon learning of Bissonnet’s false claim, did not immediately remove him from the party speaks volumes. It is indefensible to claim this is not a grift.

  4. Went to a couple of small town fairs this summer. There was a trailer there (a nice one) where you could apply to have your Metis heritage looked at and maybe become one. But of course, it’s a small club and only club members get to decide who joins.

  5. A Metis is someone who is half Indian and half white, so unless you keep a stud book and run a selective breeding program no one is Metis for more than one generation.

    1. If the threshold for Metis status were that high, I doubt that there would be any that fresh in the DNA stew. Indian status is minimum 1/16 indigenous DNA. I thought for Metis status there just had to be an event in your ancestry where a French man had sex with an Indian resulting in an offspring and no mater how diluted, the genetic magic of selective racism rewarded you.

      1. Well if that’s the case then all Me-tis are pretend indians aren’t they?

        It’s a caste system.

      2. I identify as a pirate. But, if I were to be asked if I had native background, i would reply, “Arrr, metis!”

  6. Well, Fauxcahontas has little chance of getting elected anyways, the riding is currently polling 52% CPC, Libs at 29, Commies at 16.
    From 338canada.
Still she couldn’t help but virtue signal her victimhood. It’s the LIEberal way.

  7. If anyone can simply choose their sexual identity, and access special accesses for being either one or the other, including gov’t grants for being a “woman in the trades”, then people can choose their racial identity too, to have additional gov’t grants for being a “Polish man in the trades”.

If it’s an actual crime in tier 2 Canada to “attempt to talk someone out of changing their sexual identity” (conversion therapy) then perhaps it’s the same for all the other issues too that people have, like race.
At some moments in history everyone was supposed to be equal before the law, tier 2 Canada has poisoned the well and not very many people I meet care what you were at birth, we care more that you show up at work sober, and ready to go.

Same goes for saying “I’m Polish” … or I’m a whichever. I don’t care if 100% of Canadians declare formally that they’re no longer whichever race was attached to their status in a census or income tax form or any other gov’t form letter or grant application. If 50% of these people formally declared they were “Mohawk” or “Cree” or “Crowfoot” or any of the other groups, the gov’t would be overwhelmed and the gig would be up.

No more special status while everyone is special.
Friggin gov’t made these rules, ridicule them harshly, and it’ll all go away.

    1. The only “conversion therapy” that takes place in canada is trying to align a person’s body to the delusions the mind holds…

That for some reason is not illegal, but if you attempt to help the person by aligning the mind to the body, well off to jail for you.

  8. The “native” Canadians are fighting tooth and nail against the “metis” gaining any kind of “native” rights.

There is only so much money to go around, and the first group isn’t in the mood for sharing.

  9. The inherent contradictions of wokery and DIE, er, DEI are always amusing, aren’t they?

A guy can pretend to be a woman, join a girl’s volleyball team and follow the team into the change room after the game.

But let that same guy pretend to be indigenous…

  10. Anyone who can tell blatant lies like that would make a perfect Liberal MP and is clearly ministerial material.

  11. Pathetic bunch.
    “We are all victims here”.
Followed by “I am the greatest victim here”.
Of course our Liberal ,progressive comrades, are claiming minority status..they have no other achievements to brag of.
And lying.. Well that is what they do,proving to all their slithering peers that they are “Good Liberals” too.
    These are the mentally ill.
    Perverts by choice.
But 29% of voters will support them….
    1/3 of us are nutz.
