back in the mid 60s to oh, say, around late 70s, l was what we deem a leftists, supporting all manner of social programs, joined ndp, etc. full disclosure: l lacked the education to carve out a high paying profession.
then the golden age of IT hit and my ‘high functioning autism’ (which cropped up in grade 9 IQ test ‘significantly above avg analytical skills’) l lacked the marks to make anything of it however.
by 1985 l had bought my 2nd of 5 homes, and now in 2026 am firmly on the side of conservatism and wholely unreservedly against the whacko Liberals.
so what happened? curiously l attribute my *political* leanings to the same characteristic; autism makes me ridiculously literal. l ‘think like a computer’ seeking exactitude, massive volumes of data aka proofs, trust numbers, machines, tools, proven processes and theories, rely on hard provable factual evidence, etc etc.
as we see, completely unlike the drama queens and shreiking pink hair mob who start and end with emotion and rigid unbending belief systems based on convenient lies.
based on social/policical/economic/etc events, we’re in a ‘down swing’ and the technology of the past that got us out, this time around is accelerating and compounding things.
