Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

A national inquiry stated in a 2019 report that Indigenous women are 12 times more likely to be murdered or missing than any other women in Canada — the ratio rises to 16 times when compared with white women.
________________________________________________________________
Occam’s Razor suggests that the over-represented cause of these supposed disappearances and murders is likely Indigenous men. So, while the women march with those red signs with the outline of a woman cut out of them, will the men be carrying similar red signs with the portion that was cut out? Just curious.
“A national inquiry stated in a 2019 report that Indigenous women are 12 times more likely to be murdered or missing than any other women in Canada — the ratio rises to 16 times when compared with white women.”
And despite native claims to the contrary, the rate of solved homicides of native women is almost identical to that of white women.
As I recall, this is thd third enquiry to find that the biggest threat to indigenous women is indigenous men. Something about “not subject to the laws of the nation if they live on reserves.”?
Perhaps the community might address its level of alcohol use. That has always been at the heart of the (yes, serious) problems encountered by its women.
Native North Americans definitely drew the short straw when it came to the alcoholism gene. They’ve all got it, and it’s their Achilles heel.
The same goes for Australia’s Aboriginals; I’m not sure about New Zealand’s Maoris.
If it’s not booze, it’s Lysol or – when it existed – photocopier fluid.
The Herald is a joke. It went loopy years ago too when that moron Catherine Ford was the editor. What a clown she was…..I recall her waltzing into the Calgary Press Club from time to time and she thought she was the Queen. Just a pompous ass.
Gerry Forbes (CJAY92) had a column with the (then) competing Calgary Sun. He wrote something like: “please tell me Catherine Ford is not larger than a walrus.”
Since the Sun was taken over by Post Media it became the NDP cheerleading Edmonton Urinal’s poor cousin.
Nice to watch them celebrate the incredible indigenous contributions to civilization.
The potential cards! “Valentine, you slay me! Let’s make it mutual!” Hmm… Hallmark isn’t returning my calls on this one…
