I’d settle for cash bail. The reason we have all this is catch-and-release. If all they did was catch-and-hold, this would stop immediately. The number of people doing these crimes is small. It would take a couple of months to catch them all, and it would be over.

I expect that the SCOC would step in to rule against mass deportations of students, or whichever else group of people remain in Canada and were here illegally. They’ll mention the gov’t of Canada hasn’t done its job of renewing or extending those visas, they scarcely answer the phones never mind do the tasks they’ve mandated themselves to do. The deck is stacked very high against what is needed to save Canada from an absolute crushing defeat. I think Canada will fail (or continue to fail) and the best we can do is separate from them and have tier 2 Canada blame Alberta and the west in general for noncompliance of their rule.
Fortunately for AB/Sask. when some dim bulb on the left suggests we “do this, do that” all we’ll have to do is show how every idea the left supports has failed in old Canada and we should be able to step clear of their mediocrity.
Especially, their ideas on immigration. I think 200k is an acceptable number each year, but not +201k.
I have no idea what the various schools (and I’m including the legacy universities and colleges) in Canada will do after they’ve lost these thousands of fake students who should never have been here in the first place. Perhaps those schools will do something constructive instead of whatever they’ve been doing.

Most of the schools are as fake as the “students”. As for Canadian universities, a lot of them will fold. They’re not providing value for money, and the sudden loss of foreign income will create many bankruptcies.
As young Nick Shirley has demonstrated in Minnesota, the same is true in Canada. Most of this economic activity is graft and theft of tax dollars. It’s my opinion that if money laundering was prosecuted in this country half the retail stores would close overnight.
