Rand Paul and Thomas Massie are probably the only two members of Congress left who have any allegiance to the idea of limited constitutional government. And now the President wants to get rid of them.
1. I have been going to the same Vietnamese refugee hair stylist for at least 35 years. She built a thriving business, raised two beautiful daughters who are married and successful (both college grads). She knows the names of all my children and asks about them and our grandchildren. She’s a GREAT American.
I also worked with a couple of Iranians who came here in the late 70’s in lieu of bowing down before the Totalitarian Ayatollah. They came with money, but they put it to work immediately as investor/developers. They were smart, successful and became GREAT Americans.
2. Trump instantaneously closed the border because he simply allowed, nay directed the Border Agents to simply DO THEIR JOB. Biden had prevented them from doing their jobs. Yeah, the Agents are overwhelmingly on Trump’s side.
3. I don’t entirely disagree with Paul’s “moderate” stance on allowing GOOD illegal immigrants to stay if they are good WORKERS. I just paid a couple of illegal Mexican brothers who have been here since 2010 $50/hr. to do some construction projects around the house. I’ve paid them both $thousands and thousands over the last several years. They work for a GC I know. They’re vetted, trustworthy, and hard workers. Fact is … I can’t find any American citizens who will work as hard, reliably, and competent as these two.
But the problem with Paul’s “moderate” solution is that the illegals I hire are not only eliminating skilled Americans from getting these jobs … but they have permanently eliminated most legal citizen carpenters from even attempting the profession. They’ve permanently cornered the market on non-union construction work. Free market capitalism … yeayyy! Except undercutting LEGAL construction labor is corrosive to our culture. And don’t get me started on the underground all-cash economy. Sorry … the vast majority of illegals don’t pay taxes. Perhaps BIG-L Rand Paul says GOOD … he doesn’t like taxes either … but that’s simply irresponsible.
So you’re quite happy breaking the law by using and paying illegals. How does that jibe with Trump’s goal of ridding the country of illegals to free up jobs for Americans.
