I notice the quietness about the shooting in the face and killing of some girl. A COMMIE, etc.
I contrast this with the righteous protest about the shooting in the face and killing of Ashlie Babbit.

I don’t think either should have been shot in the face and killed. And, having watched the vid clips of each, I really don’t like the lies put out, esp by the state, about either.
PS: no, they’re not equivalent: the COMMIE girl was trying to get away when the “good guy” stepped out in front of her and (although missing with two out of three shots) murdered her.
Babbit too was murdered; although she was not trying to get away from the scum who shot her.

To the point about this post: Venezuela was the dagger aimed at our throats; that is perhaps now off the table. And the uncertainty the operation caused is also a plus.

1) #ProtesterChick -hit- the ICE cop with her car. He shot her -after- she hit him. The video is very clear. That’s a righteous shoot.
2) That was an impressive feat of shooting. He nailed her after being stuck by the car, while evading and running backwards. Managed to no hit anyone else. Pretty sure I couldn’t do it.
3) Ashli Babbitt was deliberately assassinated by the cop while she was squatting in a broken window with both hands on the window frame, and the room behind her was filled with armed police. He tried to shoot her in the head, but he puled down on the gun so hard that his aim shifted and he shot her in the neck. The video is very clear.
Some girl? She was an activist who trained and specifically traveled to MN to obstruct ICE operations.

The article implies that regime change in Venezuela is somehow a done deal. Without either 24/7 attention or boots on the ground, that goal is a long way off, if in fact it is actually desirable in the first place. The experiences of Iraq and Afghanistan represent very different and worrisome outcomes. A culture of liberty in a nation has to be organic at least to some extent. That existed in some form in Germany and Japan which is why military force could be safely withdrawn. I don’t see much of that in Venezuela. Keep in mind that in the early days of Chavez, the voting public happily endorsed him.
Iraq and Afghanistan are not the least bit comparable to Venezuela. Venezuela at one time had a relatively robust democracy until the socialists came in and ruined it as they always do. The voting public often “happily endorses” socialists until the reality or socialism become evident. Once the sugar bowl is empty and is not being refilled, the gloves come off.
I suspect the U.S. intelligence is quite a bit more advanced than yours.
Has there been regime change?
There hasn’t been “regime change” yet.
However, with the ongoing blockade of oil exports, and I think their drug exports are blocked as well.. there isn’t any fresh transfer of funds entering into the country.
Their military has 2000 generals, and no means to pay them, nor the other 200k military people, nor the civil service which is likely larger than Canada’s… their food imports will be unpaid for very soon, and without fresh supplies it’s going to be a bleak spring time. Anytime something breaks, it’s going to remain broken until someone imports replacement parts and there isn’t anything left to buy those parts with. Just like Cuba with those 1950’s vehicles being repaired in the streets. How quaint.
The media seems focused on the change at the top, but perhaps they assume that Venezuela has money stored up somewhere in which to pay for their imports. I think they’re very close to not being able to import anything, and anyone willing to extend credit to them is willing to risk losing it all.

One of the tankers, the Veronica, which is not carrying any oil, changed its name to Galileo and its flag to Russia this week in an apparent effort to evade boarding by the United States. Additionally, The Times identified three other tankers, all carrying Venezuelan oil, that as of this week are registered in Russia.”
