  1. I guess this means Ghislaine Maxwell’s lawyer will be submitting a formal request for her release any day now.

    1. I guess it’s the acting out part that gets people in trouble and as such should never be an excuse. Unless you’re a venerated filmmaker …using Woody Allen’s “The heart wants what it wants” as a reason you married your stepdaughter won’t get you high fives in the court of public opinion either.

    2. Anyone who’s genuinely shocked and appalled by the phenomenon of young women and older, wealthy men preying on one another must have recently arrived from Mars.

      And it would really helpful in cases like this to just stick with the alleged trafficking of minor girls and/or women against their will. Everything else is just mud thrown at a wall for political reasons and financial gain. (See: civil claims that were filed against Epstein. Justice or predation? Probably both.)

      1. I read the transcripts of the “victims” who were paid $300 per massage. And yep, some were asked to perform the massage in their undies. So … did someone FORCE them to strip off? Or did they willingly exchange their pulchritude for $cash … with no withholding taxes (I’ll bet). And many of the “girls” opted out … but were then given $200 for ea. new girl they recruited. And exactly when did the 14yo girls reveal their true age to anyone associated with Epstein?

        If an underage girl freely exchanges her youthful beauty and male attention for $$$ … then who is to blame? And who is being “trafficked”?

        But … Epstein and Maxwell were found GUILTY of recruiting barely legal hotties for their private “gentlemen’s club” … but not a single actual ‘client’ has been named and personally sued for statutory rape. Why? Sorry … nothing about this case makes sense.

        1. Kenji, you seem obsessed with blanketly finding the girls at fault, while at the same time underplaying the significance of the entire Epstein operation, all because you haven’t seen names and aren’t privy to everything law enforcement has discovered.

          Yet the two key players have been imprisoned after being charged with serious crimes. To me that indicates there’s a there there.

  3. If Matt had bothered to interview the girls being trafficked, he wouldn’t be writing such garbage. Gueffre was but one of his victims, many others, including Maria Farmer, have been very vocal and all but ignored.
    The fact people try to excuse child rape and trafficking to cover their fan favourite politician or assorted deviants is equal in sickness to the perps doing the Act.

  6. Epstein had powerful friends. Epstein diddled some teenagers. In Kamala’s Venn diagram the overlap of these worlds was likely tiny. It is really odd how there is a dearth of testimony from known victims or claimed victims. There was pretty much just Virginia Giuffre but she was mining for gold. Prince Andrew was legally banging her and the only reason he settled was because the family didn’t want a trial. Epstein just looks like a horny old millionaire who liked teenage kitty cat. I doubt he was any kind of pimp.

  7. I don’t think I’ve seen pictures of minors in that whole sordid story, although I don’t doubt it happened. Of course that is criminal. I’ve seen plenty of young adult women though. The sort that you see in the Yatch girl pictures and industry. I knew a girl who was a sugar baby when she was 18 and she sure as hell wasn’t forced into it.

      Holding people to a consent age of 18 is a bit bizarre as likely 80-90% of the people are breaking the law. I was banging 17 year olds almost 60 years ago. Mind you, consent at the time was 14. What’s next, 5 years in jail for speeding, another, almost universal, common crime.

    2. Pappy_G, you don’t see pictures of minors, nor their names, because it is prohibited by law, at least in cases involving sexual abuse or exploitation.

      1. Yes, I know. The point I was trying to make is that the Epstein operation was not solely concerned with pedophiles and the women involved were not all victims. Some of them even recruited their friends into it.

  8. I do not believe the young girls were trafficked against their will. I also believe that claiming a 17 year old girl is a minor is a technicality. I do believe that what a girl thinks is a lot of money when she’s 17 turns out not to be when she turns 40 and can’t cope with her past decisions.

    I also recall Kevin Spacey would have parties on some guys yacht. Lot’s of young boys (17 ish) for the old men to bottom-feed. One tried to sue Spacey saying they lured him out to which Spacey responded “why did he think we invited him in the first place”?

    Sorry but for me 17 is not pedophilia. It’s an attempt to get something fresh.

        As I’ve tried to explain to Lupus previously … I absolutely agree that a 10yo girl who finally screws up the courage (sorry) to report her funny Uncle has been diddling her for years … deserves protection by our legal system. She is an actual victim … and scumbag Uncle should be imprisoned for LIFE

        But I was witness to a horrific charge of “rape” by a young college student at St. Mary’s college in my backyard back in the 80’s or 90’s (pre-internet, so no digital trail). Her surname was LaRussa. Yes, Tony LaRussa’s daughter … MLB Manager. Seems she was angry at getting dumped by her boyfriend so she claimed he raped her. After a trial, during which all her lies were exposed … when the Judge threw out her case, he lectured her and her parents that bit*hy little girls like her who make false charges in retribution for hurt feelings are an insult to every REAL victim of rape.

        I need PROOF and DETAILS of every Epstein accusers claims. Hiding behind a sketchy “underage” label is corrosive to our constitutional legal system

  9. I’m still convinced that Epstein was recruited by a US alphabet agency way back in 2008 just after his first arrest. The Palm Beach County police had him absolutely nailed on a wealth of charges. Then, the Feds stepped in and did a totally inexcusable plea agreement where Epstein pled guilty to two of the lesser charges (soliciting prostitution, and procuring a child for prostitution). Gone were the more serious charges. No explanation accompanied that act despite Epstein having no leverage. He received 13 months of work release AND there are no records of him ever showing up at the half-way house.

    When Maxwell was asked if there was “a list”. She responded that there was no list…no client list…nothing like that. Well, no kidding. Epstein, IMO, was a tool of the intelligence agency. The intelligence agency would have the list. Epstein would get an assignment to target. I have no doubt that he entertained similarly minded friends as well, separate from assigned parties. In fact, such activity would add credence to what he offered when targeted individuals were assigned.

    I’ll tell you who I would put on the “under oath hotseat.” Not Maxwell. I would put Rene Alexander Acosta on the hotseat. He’s the DOJ representative who gave Epstein such a sweet plea deal on his arrest back in 2008. And, he’s the one who did so without informing the victims (unusual). AND, he threw in a NPA (Non-Prosecution Agreement) on all the other charges. This was ALL done after Palm City County Police had him nailed to the cross.

    All that being said, my only interest is to see those participants feel the heat and get lumped into a sexual deviant category that follows them around eternally. The Bill Clinton’s, Reid Hoffman’s Bill Gate’s…etc.
