“Elections Quebec is seeking to understand why almost all employees linked to the Liberal Party of Canada who helped Pablo Rodriguez in his campaign for the leadership of the Quebec Liberal Party received $1000. […]
Among them are ten people from the Liberal Party of Canada (PLC), nine of whom contributed $500 to Mr.’s campaign. Rodriguez. This is the case of Geneviève Hinse, the former chief of staff of Pablo Rodriguez in Ottawa, the same one who was laid off three weeks ago by MP Marwah Rizqy.

Money laundering, why would anyone be surprised that it’s corrupt?
As long as the money was declared as a justifiable election expense, then there is nothing wrong. grrr#/
I didn’t read the story, but this appears (at first glance) to be just that old scam of getting ‘donations’ from private individuals to circumvent campaign finance rules. Give them the money first, then they can ‘donate’ it back to you.
The PQ is rising in the provincial polls and are well into “landslide election” while the #Libranos are falling.
Their prov. election will be in October 2026 and the PQ is promising a separation referendum within 2 years, though the polling for Quebec separation is roughly showing 65 no and 35 yes … a couple of #Libranos are out as members as well.
My French includes the words “oui and non” so I include this English link…

Can we persuade Quebec to use mail in ballots with electronic vote counting?
Then we can be sure they’ll leave!!!
I’d side with the PQ as being less corrupt while they’re placed opposite to the #Libranos in a separation referendum. I don’t know how they are in other governing fields but the Wiki suggests they’re making polling gains by placing themselves more conservatively and opposite the #Libranos, as well, they’re the one political party in Canada which has consistently fought only for their province above other considerations, I have to like them for that. “Somewhere” I have a copy of the original short book outlining the PQ’s stance on sovereignty association from when their original leader was at the helm, Rene Levesque. Whom I admired for this.
I wasn’t permitted to vote from Saskatchewan back then. I would have voted “oui” and continued to hope for small gov’t.
That’s why there was a ban on brown paper bags in the 90’s…..whenever they were brought up in conversation, it made people think of the Libranos. Can’t have that.
