2. No. Our Western values are diametrically opposed to the authoritarian States of the EU. We are utterly incompatible with the EU … the NATO States.

   I’m old enough to recall my generation actually caring about FREEDOM … i.e. FREE from censorship and “hate speech” nonsense. FREE from the communist values of the EU. In fact I was JUST listening to a superb Japanese pressing of CSN&Y compilation lp So Far and the tune Find the Cost of
   Freedom was inspiring to hear. Because we all need to find the COST we are willing to PAY to keep our Freedom! Seriously … what’s happened to my Boomer generation? We’ve lost our goodness … we lost our way. We used to sing of FREEDOM … now we seem to find more bureaucratic means to crush people’s souls. Crush their dreams. Crush their hopes. My generation has become nothing more than a gaggle of olllllld scolds and Nannie’s.

   I collect Japanese pressings … because I like the OBI’s … but … primarily because the engineering and the quality of the pressings are as good as anything Bernie Grundman or Chris Bellman engineer. Sorry … I love and collect pressings by those two … but the common garden variety Japanese pressings approach the quality of those revered US vinyl engineers.

   And yeah … I’m an ollllld Boomer who grew up with vinyl, and turntables … and an inner yearning for FREEDOM. I’m still spinning vinyl … and I’m still yearning for total unfettered FREEDOM. The Socialists of Europe are diametrically opposed to everything I believe. Opposed to everything we hippie boomer were fingering for … the RIGHT to express exactly what we believe without limits. Without a police State crushing our right to express it.

      And on this superb Japanese pressing of the BEST of PROG. Rock … Heart of the Sunrise yes, Stevie … another AMAZING tune written in the seminal year of Rock music … 1971. We Boomer hippies were pushing the boundaries. We were demanding the Freedom to record truly PROGRESSIVE music. Music which had no pre-approved template. It didn’t fit into a 2:20min. slot on AM radio. It was utterly FREE … FREE to be.

      The Communist Union of European States hate Freedom. They stand between the people and their inner souls. No TRUE Boomer who was raised on the sound of Freedom can tolerate the EU, Britain, or Canada’s soul crushing scolding rules and regulations. They are all bent on putting people into boxes … which is exactly what we Boomers were fighting against.

3. Is Laundau some kind of effing retard? NATO is a military alliance opposing a common enemy. The EU is a trade alliance that doesn’t include the US. Why the US trade deficit with Europe? The US buys quality goods from Europe while Europe buys its cheap crap from the same place the US does, China. There is simply a poor market in Europe for US goods.

         2. Jamie, you need to update that. instead of are, substitute were. You need to no further than to get in a new BMW, they are a joke compared to what they were. They are tinny, creaky and their trannies have not kept pace. I was a German car fan, but in my latest vehicle purchase, i drove BMW, Mercedes and Cadillac SUV’s, the Caddy won hands down. I was shocked having been down on North American vehicle for years, and drove mostly Japanese during those years.

5. Europe are grifters and have been since WWII. They are going down the tubes and our bonehead “Prime Minister” thinks aligning with those imbeciles is a good idea. Continental Europe’s share of global GDP has decreased from 25% to 14%, indicating a significant economic decline and trying to move out trade from the US to Europe is like jumping off the Carpathia to get onto the deck of the Titanic.

6. Looking at this it appears there is something Russia has (supply) that Europe wants (demand)
   Sounds like there is a market for this thing.
   Now if another country that was a member of say NATO had a lot of this thing (let’s say it was natural gas) and instead of trying to sell it to European countries claimed “there is no business case” that would be aiding and abetting Russia.

   But that’s just crazy talk

   The EU is a Franco-German power bloc designed to fend off the US (and the UK). It cannot go tits up soon enough.
