The Ontario government hired $1 million-a month American trade lawyers for help on cross-border disputes even as Premier Doug Ford publicly expressed confidence in the Prime Minister’s negotiating skills, records show. The costly retainer was signed October 25.

It’s the chicken dance, half the time they are up, half the time they are down, but they always run round and round.
… and when they are only half way up, they are neither up nor down.
Million bucks and I bet their first piece of advice was to tell Doug Ford to shut up.

L – “million dollar a month trade lawyers” to try to undo the political damage of Doug Fords political attacks against the Trump administration, including the dis-information style editing of Ronald Regan on tariffs and placing that ad on American tv. Which was viewed as foreign interference in the upcoming Congressional 2026 elections! Might that undermine trade negotiations on trade with the Trump administration???
Ford vetting the ads before hand with Liberal P.M. Carney, reviled by the Trump Administration for his “The Chinese Connection” . How did that work out for the lines of unemployed in Ontario? The ones, who voted for you, Dougie, in the hopes you could save their jobs?
By the way foreign interference in federal elections is taken very seriously in a functional democracy. But not in Liberal/NDP controlled Canada, which means refer to the previous sentence.

They only cost $700,000 USD and are worth even less.
Hiring lobbyists to buy influence on Capitol Hill is not new. I just wonder if it’s going to work with this administration. The President has pretty stong views about trade and I don’t think he’ll be bamboozled or bought like the previous ones.
