  1. Canadians should expect the major credit ratings agencies Fitch, Moody’s and S&P, to downgrade Canada’s credit rating. This will raise borrowing costs for the Government.

    Current Credit Ratings
    Canada AA+ at Fitch
    Canada AAA at Moody’s
    Canada AAA at S&P

    1. Yep
And when the creditors decide the C$ is junk bond status the Canadian government only gets money from the BoC which further erodes the value of the C$.
This cycle continues until the creditors decide to force the government into recievership and then the crown assets get liquidated.
Hopefully when this starts happening the US decides having a failed state next door as a security risk is bad for business

      1. That’s my take too. The Arctic is too valuable to have it mot protected.
China will try to claim space and a presence.

  2. Your daily dose of toxic gov’t waste from Andy Lee:

“The more I read about the $15 billion Canada Growth Fund, the more insane it seems. CGF is managed by Canada Development Investment Corporation.
The government’s website lists six employees.
Out of $56.6 million in expenses for 2024, $43 million went towards compensation.
They have an unknown number of staff, consultants and lawyers.
The have funded Brookfield projects in the past.”

  3. Perhaps the CTV is angry their welfare payments increase from the federal gov’t aren’t in the budget?

“CTV just BLEW UP Carney’s budget.
PBO says the investment boost is a FANTASY.
CTV says the Libs are lowballing their own costs.
And Carney’s camp? Don’t worry. Trust us.
We’ve officially entered the Trust Me, Bro era of Liberal economics.”

1.46 minutes… of the “Trust me bro” budget…

  4. Now if Pierre announced that any MP voting for the budget would be violating their fiduciary duty to the citizens of Canada and would be personally responsible for the deficit, then I would be happy.
Mischief is fun – except when Tamara pisses off Trudeau.
