My BIL’s father in Montréal needs triple bypass surgery. He was told his wait time is 1-3 months. A friend just had knee replacement surgery after waiting close to one year. But, you know, it’s “free” so it’s worth the wait.
Day 10 since my Family Doc put in a request for MRI to the local system operator that distributes to local MRI providers. No call yet for scheduling an MRI, nothing, not even crickets. Advertised to call within 48 business hours.
Called the local system operator to be told I have to wait for a call, and no they cannot tell me what provider it was sent to. The system operator is road block. I’m not expecting a quick appointment even if I get a call, non-emergency locally is 6-8 month wait at best. Then the wait for a surgical referral and fix.
Another day and I’m scheduling private either across the provincial border or the USA.
But if I hit the US for an MRI, I can at least pick up a bottle of bourbon or two! (Taxes and duty too.)
But it’s “free”, don’t you know!
I’m told Obamakkare was modeled after the wildly successful Canadian socialized medical system. It turns out your system is sorely lacking … while Obamakkare has caused the US government to shut down unless Republicans MAKE the tax payer subsidize illegal aliens medical care. What a complete fustercluck … just as predicted.
I was lucky in getting an MRI quickly – 1 week.
1. My benefit package paid for 100% – but I was going to do it anyway out-of-pocket.
How?
2. I live next to K-bec and you can pay for private stuff there because they’re a distinct society and not part of Canada.
Canada is becoming the poorest performer in EVERYthing.
Fcking shithole.
Same here, did the price comparisons and K-Bec wins. 15 minute drive from home. I kind of wanted to go to the US just because so many wont (and I enjoy pissing most of them off), but the difference wouldn’t justify it.
While my benefits won’t cover it, it is tax deductible and no GST/HST.
must be gawdawful amount of skimming and syphoning being done by liberal businesses and consultants to have that lopsided tallies.
lm torn to make that an upper or lower case L. what does SDA thing?
Can’t have any competition to the “Free” System, especially not if fees are involved.
