  1. Yep. Us f’ing Boomers are the cause of all the strife on the planet today.

Not leftys. Not [spit] Progs. Not commies. (BIRM)

    Just alla us f’ing Boomers…

  2. Boomers are people born between 1946 and 1964. A person born in 1965 has much more in common with a boomer than someone born in 1946. The number of births in Canada peaked in 1960. The boom was centered around 1958 to 1962. Boomers experienced over-crowded schools, higher competition to enter university, a tougher job market and 19% interest rates on mortgages. They are now exceeded in number by millennials who will benefit more than any other generation from the transfer of wealth as boomers pass on. And millennials blame boomers for everything.

Boomers enter peak retirement in 2025-2027. There is a reason the world is in recession, propped up only by massive deficit spending. Demographics. As boomers pass, millennials will then become the most despised demographic group. Not sure they have the backbone to carry the torch.

    1. There are cohorts withing cohorts. Late boomers, like the tail end of any cohort have it hard. Early boomers had it relatively easier. That said, there is a key difference. The parents of boomers did not demand government be their mommy, that came from boomers, whose parents indulged them, and never made them take responsibility. The reason there is massive deficit spending is that boomers are selfish and have the numbers to enforce their political will. The worldwide recession is the result of the massive deficit spending, you have it in reverse.

      1. Some of you guys paint with a really broad brush.

There are Boomers all across Canada. I am one, in Western Canada. Many of us are lifelong conservatives that did not vote Liberal, ever. We are dismayed by the intellectual density of some of the Eastern Boomers.

Pierre Trudeau was elected in 1968 and proceeded to do exactly as Junior later did: run up huge deficits. This caused inflation, which Trudeau tried to control with useless price and wage controls, and with increasing interest rates to discourage so much spending by consumers. He’d have been much better off controlling his government’s spending. Our first mortgage was a 15% rate for five years. A year and a half after we bought that house, the rate got as high as 22%. That, coupled with the National Energy Policy, another Trudeau disaster, caused a serious recession in the 1980s. High unemployment, foreclosures everywhere, hopeless people. It took a long time to clean up.

And then Canadians, not just Boomers, elected Justin. Several times. Nobody pays attention to us older Boomers with our warnings about leftist governments.

        1. I was eight years old when Pierre was elected. He was elected by the generation prior to the boomers (my parents). My mother voted for Pierre. She even named her cat after him. Then she started her own business. Shortly thereafter the name Trudeau was greeted with great hostility in our home, much to the amusement of my father who thought he was a charlatan. Post World Word II there was unprecedented prosperity that lasted into the 1960s. They say the first generation makes the money and the second generation spends it. I recall that Pierre’s father was wealthy from selling gas stations near Montreal.

      2. “The reason there is massive deficit spending is that boomers are selfish and have the numbers to enforce their political will.”

Dude. Do you have to repeat the propaganda like a parrot? This is all down to Canadian socialism.

Boomers are the most-taxed generation in the history of the nation, so far. If we have anything in retirement it’s because we worked like dogs our whole lives. The same as our parents. Many of us are STILL WORKING at 70+ which our parents didn’t have to do. If our kids have anything it’s because we set them up to win with an education and starter money, and you can tell because there’s so many that have nothing.

But the little Zoomers coming on-line now, they are really getting pillaged. A Zoomer kid simply can’t make it on their own, it’s economically impossible. If they end up with anything it’ll be because Grandma and Grandpa Boomer PLUS Mom and Dad Gen-X kicked in money to get them set up. Maybe even Great Grandma and Grandpa might have to kick in.

When the Zoomers get to be retirement age they’ll have seen this whole socialist house of cards come tumbling down, and they’ll have been the ones that dug out from under it and climbed back up again. I feel pretty bad for them, honestly. It was bad enough in the 1970s, this we have now is f-ing crazy.

        Thanks, socialists.

  3. Did the Boomers vote Liberal?
    Who really knows?
The lies that permeate every aspect of Canada are hard to overcome.
And it’s pretty much all lies.
    As a Boomer, I do know this………
I don’t believe a SINGLE word the Media, Govt, Business, Institutions etc. say.
Not an and, not a the, not a single word.
Canada is a reasonably dumb country, full of myths, shibboleths and endless lies.
    Which Canadians fervently believe.
I also know that several generations after Boomers(pick one) couldn’t find their ass with both hands and a pack of dogs.
I often wondered how they would cope with adult reality.
    Now we know.
Governments have lowered the bar so low that snakes barely scrape through.
Which is why we live in bizarro world.
The world of: math doesn’t matter, debt doesn’t matter, borders don’t matter, crime doesn’t matter, war doesn’t matter…….and so on ………….
Besides the ubiquitous Karens, I’m pretty sure there’s not too many Boomers out there gang looting, breaking windows, starting fires and assaulting folks.
    That’s a LIBERAL thing.
    Beware the omnipresent Canadian lie.
    Also a Liberal thing.

  4. Why the focus on boomers when the culprits for the mess are all leftards and, dare I say, especially female leftards.

Also, conservatives-in-name-only types who never pushed back against the evil.

    1. “Why the focus on boomers when the culprits for the mess are all leftards…”

Name recognition. They’re too lazy and too stupid to make up good propaganda. They’re blaming the Jews too, but that isn’t working very well for them.

Also target softening. They want to tax the equity people have in their homes, because that’s where all the money is in this country. So ramping up some dandy Boomer-hatred gives them an excuse to take all that delicious money from those disgraceful old people.

Normies don’t seem to understand that a home equity tax is you PAYING RENT to the government for the privilege of living in your own house that you bought and paid for, but we should all be used to this by now. After all, property tax is rent and Normies don’t have any clue about that either.

  5. Yes. Boomers, as a generation not individuals, have been a negative force in western nations because they are easily manipulated. Despite their reputation as rebels in their youth, as they aged they stopped questioning authority.

The only people they are suspicious of now are conservatives politicians. They believe all other people in positions of authority because they are “experts”. They unquestioningly believe the media, the medical establishment, pharmaceutical industry, bankers, corporations, government funded agencies and scientists, etc. Because of boomer’s naivety, gullibility and voting power we now have net zero, mass immigration, growing poverty, massive debts and deficits and declining health. It’s the younger generations that will have to deal with these terrible problems long after the boomers are gone.

  6. Grouping people together, as if they are all the same, by something so frivolous as the decade they were born in is absurd. We are all individuals. My next older brother claims to be a socialist. I have been called far right. Apparently, we are both boomers.

    1. “Grouping people together, as if they are all the same, by something so frivolous as the decade they were born in is absurd.”

Sadly no. It is -not- absurd. It is an attack. A psy-op. And it is -working- for them.

I think it is absurd that people believe this crap, but I fear I am wrong about that too. Starting to look like this is a genuine button that can be pushed in any human population or group larger than a family.

You and socialist brother are both “Boomers” because someone finds it convenient to lump you together that way and try to force a policy argument based on that fiction. Might be instructive to go find out WHO’S PAYING THAT GUY and cut down his money tree. That’s how you fight these weasels. Hit ’em in the wallet.
