  1. Not really fearful. People have only been watching media that conforms to their worldview for decades now, and the left keeps losing.

  2. I hope AI is better at punctuation than MM, because that’s a big part of my worldview.

  3. Redpop has it mostly right. Exposure to “other people think differently from you” is what the AI “upgrades in service” will end.

  4. Oh, like nothing that came before has failed to “tailor and validate your worldview”
    AI is “Apparently Inconsequential”
    Give me a break.
Public discourse has always been doing this very thing. AI is just the current thing. Used to be the yellow press, or the holy roman empire, or whatever.
Wakey Mr. Malice. Your insight is trite and lacks deep historical context.
Oh, and attempt to write a coherent sentence.
To wit: “…AI being implemented to tailor your newsfeed to only include information that validates your worldview, NO MATTER HOW WHAT IT IS.”
    HA HA HA…shaddup

  5. People don’t need AI for Confirmation Bias.
Maybe it speeds up the process or helps validate it, but its been around forever.

  6. This is already being done, and has been for quite a while, with one exception to his prediction. He’s giving the implementors of AI way too much of the benefit of a doubt. They ARE NOT tailoring the AI you see to your preferences. They are OUTRIGHT tailoring the AI you see to THEIR preferences.

This has been going on with GOOGLE for quite some time. You’ve probably noticed the AI that pops up before the references applied to your keywords. Those AI summaries are massaged to present a leaning and it is passed off as a summary of all available sources. But, in fact, the sources used are bias in their own right. They have predetermined positions that are reinforced by this format.

They are depending upon laziness in this application. They hope you won’t ignore their “convenient” summary to your inquiry and go digging on your own. Because on those issues considered partisan, your research will most likely not reflect the summary they provide through AI.

Out of curiosity, I inquired the GOOGLE AI in the first week that it became available a rather loaded question. “Are the average IQ’s of different races distinguishable?” I wanted to see if AI was willing to be politically incorrect. Surprisingly, they stated that there were differences on average, and proceeded to provide documented percentage rates from studies to back it up. NOW, HOWEVER, if you ask that same question, you will get lectured on racism.
