It will be a process – a series of nips and tucks to legislation and fund regulations that will continually tighten the bureaucratic grip on the throats of the nation’s once free press. Unless you follow the Canada Gazette or subscribe to The Rewrite, you’ll probably never hear about it. But trust that what Rudyard Griffiths, publisher of The Hub, calls “the soft, silent takeover of the nation’s press” is underway.
We were at the Charlie Kirk memorial at Calgary City Hall two Sunday’s ago.
There were drones flying over us as we were singing, worshipping God and listening to the guest speakers and prayers.
We heard later that the Mayor (she who called the “Climate Emergency” and has never lifted it and is using those funds as an unaccountable slush-fund) is recording every person amd face that meets at City Hall. We are being recorded and there is no press calling this servailence state tactics out as the tyrany it is.

I think this article is a little late, and the takeover was anything but silent. One would have to travel back in time to 1936 to be specific. That’s when the CBC originated. And, that’s when the CBC started receiving government funding. Over time, the “slow takeover of the nation’s press” was more a “slow decline of political moral turpitude.” This “slow takeover” includes the co-conspirators or “higher education” which trained and encouraged the one-sided bias all the way up to the highest level politicians in the land who offered outright bribery to these media outlets as a staple of their campaigns in the form of financing.
Canada’s right side of the aisle suggested that he would NOT fund media outlets with government money, which had the result of the, already, bias media strongly favoring their coverage of the one who would finance them (with a bump).
