25 Replies to “Bernie Sanders On Charlie Kirk”

  1. Whoa, Bernie said something I agree with. I just checked and the sunset is still in the west!
I did notice that he didn’t mention the attempted assassination of Trump last year.

    1. I didn’t have “Bernie Sanders is the voice of reason for the Democrats” on my 2025 bingo card either.

  2. Nothing I disagree with … except for one word – “humiliated”.

Free Speech does not mean I have the right to not be “humiliated”. That’s an emotional response. That’s your problem, not mine. How you “feel” about my words cannot be guaranteed. To be FREE from “humiliation” is akin to being Free from “Hate” Speech. Free Speech offers no such guarantee. Democracy has no such litmus test.

    1. While Bernie doesn’t speak (perfectly) for me on the topic of Charlie Kirk’s heinous assassination… Stephen Miller does.

      https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2025/09/11/stephen-miller-on-charlie-kirk-assassination-an-evil-ideology-is-at-war-with-family-and-nature/

Miller warned that there is an ideology in America which has “steadily been growing in this country which hates everything that is good, righteous, and beautiful and celebrates everything that is warped, twisted, and depraved”

  3. “Does it bother you, Senator Sanders, that except for the FBI instigated and the falsely labeled ‘insurrection’, all of the political violence you’ve mentioned was committed by the left? Further, committed by those further to the left than the intended victims?”

Note that I know next to nothing about Wallace, so please correct me if I’m wrong.

    1. Don’t make the perfect the enemy of the good. He carries weight on the left, or at least he did until he released this video. I should go check on their reactions…

      1. He’s still blue pilling himself with “both sides do this”. So he’s right about one thing in his life, finally. He’s still a champagne socialist parasite who will continue to do a lot of harm to society. If he’s actually having a moment of clarity then this might be the only chance to get him to realize that no, both sides don’t do political violence.

        1. Nit pick away, if that turns your crank.
Sanders said what needs to be said in essence.
If you disagree with his content, feel free to debate and agree to disagree.
Yes, it would seem that most political violence is perpetrated by the “left” but do you know the root of all violence and its political alignment?
It all comes down to good versus evil.
I don’t care much for Bernie and his ilk, but maybe, just maybe, he was catching up with a turning point right there, if you know wut I mean.
          Also, God Bless Charlie.

  4. Free speech is MY right to say what YOU don’t want to hear. Don’t like it? Two choices: 1) debate me. 2) Go @#$% yourself.

  5. Sanders also voted to impeach Trump and stood silent while weaponized gov’t agencies did a full court press against conservatives. In some circles this is known as silencing your political enemies so all this free speech talk really doesn’t mean jack.
Another lying piece of communist filth playing for the optics.
Wanna make nice with those who’d like nothing more than to see you dead and gone forever? Knock yourself out.
    Me? Not so much.

    1. We Know Who the Devil Is.
Maxine Waters is unquestionably an intolerant POS, but it started when Obama criticized residents of rural Pennsylvania for “clinging to their guns and religion”.

  6. The problem is that such words seem to be rarely heard in universities. Instead students are fed a diet of intolerance towards those whose views do not fit into a very narrow and ever changing narrative.

    1. A mom … with kids at one of our local High Schools. In the heart of our wealthy and privileged (mostly) white suburban enclave … posted a message on the NextDoor app today. She was aghast when her kids came home from school reporting that MOST of their classmates were cheering Kirk’s cold blooded murder.

Seems as though Bernie’s words haven’t made it into our High schools yet either. Or into the cushy suburban homes of these kids. Or into the social media streams these kids spend most of their waking hours doom scrolling.

      Speaking of doom …

  7. Sanders has read the room. He knows the Democrats are imploding under the weight of being on the wrong side of every 80/20 issue, so he’s positioning himself as the moderate. The old hustler is setting up for a comeback.

    1. My first thought was that Bernie is angling for a job in the Trump Admin. Hey! If an old Leftie like RFK Jr. came to the Front and Center under Trump … and that nice Hawaiian ex-Democrat … then maybe Bernie can get an Ambassadorship or something?

      Yes, I amuse myself.

    2. “Sanders has read the room. He knows the Democrats are imploding under the weight of being on the wrong side of every 80/20 issue, so he’s positioning himself as the moderate. ”

I think you nailed it, Daniel. I’m still baffled that he is the first one to notice what is happening to the Democratic Party, though….I mean, when the polls tell you that your popularity has fallen to an *all-time low*, shouldn’t that set off alarm bells and raise big red flags? How is it that they just keep doubling down on the same tired old policies when they can see clear proof of rejection by the voters?

  8. I’d read years ago of Senator Bernie Sander’s opinions and goals while he was running for President, and as I disagreed generally with everything he’d said there wasn’t a point in keeping tabs on him.
I am surprised by much of what he’s said here, if only to hear it from him and not disagreeing so much with what’s he’s said. Good on you Bernie.
I think political parties used to praise their gov’t constitution in the USA, but I don’t see much of that from the Democrat’s side now.

    1. Bernie just sees a political opportunity created by the fact that the rest of Democrats have completely lost their minds. If you think Bernie is being honest and forthright, explain how a guy with three homes is constantly tearing down the rich, aka those richer than HIM, which is a constantly rising barrier.

  9. When Bernie Sanders is the voice of reason in your political party, you’ve gone completely off the rails.

Next Bernie will tell us that preventing the smuggling of fentanyl into the country is sensible and the Squad will have a stroke.

  10. Championship Grifters read the wind and tack accordingly. This character has been a hollow vessel of BS all the way back to his commune days…beats working
