Move along please.
Kevin Klein- Families terrorized as politicians look the other way
We now live in a country where a 12-year-old out on bail can pick up a firearm, invade a home, and shoot a man. We live in a country where a father who confronts criminals in his own house ends up in a coffin. Meanwhile, politicians in Ottawa debate carbon taxes and new regulations, while violent offenders cycle in and out of the system without consequence.

But honk one horn…
Don’t know the first thing about Kevin Klein. But, I can confirm after reading this article that he is lazy. For God’s Sakes!! Name the prosecutor and Magistrate/Judge that approved the release of the 12 year old who committed attempted murder. Provide details on their appointment. Determine who finances them. Name the politicians who push for this lack of justice.
Instead you get a whiny editorial with scant facts, and nothing/nobody to start pointing fingers at. This isn’t a serious article. You could write this in 20 minutes using Google. Anyone on this site could write this.
feel free to tell him his assessment is TOTALLY WRONG this is *precisely* what Canaduhians want, voted for most of Confederation and got !!! see: headlines!!! whee success !!! citoyens dead, on the altar of liberalism !!!! aaaaaaaaand
(quitcherbytchin’)
It was an emotional piece written to reach an emotional audience (i.e. people who vote left.) He doesn’t need to persuade people who are persuaded by facts, they already agree with him.
Don’t be silly. Government isn’t culpable… government is compassionate. Where’s your compassion for a poor 12yo (probably dark skinned) child who has had a rough upbringing? A child who has faced endemic racism and poverty in his life? Surely this Judge and all the folks involved in this case are wonderful compassionate government functionaries.
Liberals hate Canada and Canadians.
You can’t say or write it enough.
l guess that means we’re a nation of masochists seeing as said same citoyens are the ones CONSTANTLY giving the malfeasant Liberals all the powah they need to inflict these policies on the heads of the masochists.
lm not trained psychologist but sometimes thing really are that obvious.
It’s happening because they want it to happen.
Canada is no longer a “country” but a land area with somewhat fixed borders.
My father escaped from Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution in the early 1920’s just after the Povolzhye famine. When I was a kid, he would tell me that Canada wasn’t a country. Now I know what he meant.
chap at my Monday church men’s meeting, his parents fled russia during their post revolution civil war. WALKED to china where he was born. thence Philippines when they could thence Canaduh.
back when we did that for grateful productive self sufficient ones
There is not the slightest chance of change until the mobs are howling and stabbing through the streets of Westmount, Rockliffe Park, The Bridle Path, and Point Grey.
Those residents don’t understand that the habitual offender is in his comfort zone to offend -> bail -> offend -> short prison sentence -> offend etc. They don’t understand that not all people have civil values, that some have criminal values
Its not that the Ivory Tower Trash don’t understand – it’s that they just don’t f’n care.
My worry is that when the law fails, people will feel they have no choice but to fall back on mob rule and vigilantism. Once that cat is out of the bag it will take decades to put back in.
Democracy perhaps?
One person’s worry is another person’s prayer…
Your laws are already lawless.
But hey, reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” will make you ok with this, as it confers instant moral superiority — right Rand Paul?
A lot of people die or get their lives ruined by being at the wrong place at the wrong time through no fault of their own. In some cases that place is home. From what I can see from the reaction of law enforcement and judges, if this happens to an individual, their life will be ruined either way through the action of the criminal or the legal system. People will reach their own conclusions about what course of action will better serve their interests if their home is invaded. The social contract is broken.
Getting tired of the ‘they voted for this’ sloganeering. No one votes for this but what’s annoying is the people who do and deny they are any part of the problem. They. Are. The. Problem.
No, in a sense people do vote for this — they fall for pretty lies and wind up with something they can never vote out (the citizens of American blue cities and states say ‘hello’; the Russian peasants would say ‘hi’ but they’re by and large dead thanks to the revolution they supported).
If it sounds too pretty to be true, then it’s probably a lie. PS. don’t think that it’s only liberals that make this mistake; theirs is just the most obvious at this time.
