@ReliableAB — Here’s a chart showing the yearly average wind capacity factors over the past 15 years.

No surprise there. For every KW of installed wind name plate capacity, the grid must have 3.3 KW of baseload capacity (spinning or stored) to be deployed at random and at necessarily reduced efficiency and increased cost to babysit the parasite that gets paid whenever “it” decides to work.
And like magic (from the graph) the average wind capacity is 33% (I assume of installed or name plate capacity). Technically wouldn’t this make wind 3 times more expensive than advertised?
I suspect that it is worse than that.
It’s like sailing. Fun when the wind blows.
Otw yer watching the powerboats cruzin.
The reason why many sailboats have an outboard motor mounted in the rear. Maybe even a gas/diesel generator in the larger boats.
… commies are morons but Rachel Notley is a special type who ran in fear from her home province after increasing installed wind capacity tenfold and resisting Nat Gas power plants and prematurely shuttering coal power plants (all costing $billions with no $ return) while helping Justin Trudeau eliminate 250,000 full time, private sector jobs/careers/ livelihoods.
… Alberta needs a well regulated militia, that being necessary to the security of any free State.
Perhaps a poorly regulated militia would suffice.
Maybe an adequately regulated militia. Close enough for rock and roll, that kind of standard.
ADD – Where is she now?
She grew up in Ab as far as I know. Her Dad, former NDP leader was killed in that plane crash some decades back near the Swan Hills, I believe and a few years later she became leader.
Step 1, remove the mandate that “renewables” must be bought first by the grid.
Step 2, move them to their own grid, so that those who are interest, can put their business or homes on the renewable grid. Let the rest of us have reliable power.
But, but, but … it’s “clean” “green” and “renewable” !! The chart just shows that we need to build even MORE wind factories. If your own vista hasn’t yet been filled with wind towers … then you just aren’t doing your part.
curious the emphasis ‘renewable’; scant attention to the fact the COST to acquire the electrical energy from the energy of the wind multitudes times more to actually draw, convert and integrate. hugely more expensive.
but they dont wanna talk about that.
They definitely keep those facts under wraps. Because politicians and bureaucrats along with the crony capitalists involved get filthy rich off of the taxpayers.
