      1. One side effect of AI that is happening now is people that use AI to do routine tasks become less proficient at doing the tasks themselves. An example was Dr.’s using AI to find polyps during a colonoscopy. The study claimed doctors skill at finding polys themselves deteriorated.
        Another is if automated driving becomes the norm we will have generations that wouldn’t know how to drive manually.
        Some skills are perishable, they need constant training and honing to be at the the top at all times.
        Shooting is another perishable skill.

    2. I can still recall a film I saw in HS … in 1971 … that enthusiastically predicted the future of our newly emerging computerized high tech world. The film showed in glowing terms … how computers were already greatly expanding the amount of “leisure time” of Americans. The film showed Americans traveling the world and … I’ll never forget this part … enjoying “world music” and showed some black African modern singer sounding … well, uh … “tribal”. And said we would have so much leisure time that we could all spend time making and enjoying … “world music”

      It’s almost as if the globalists were already wetting themselves over “idle time” and opening world markets … away from the US.
