  1. I can see an American liking baseball and apple pie, but I don’t have see why he has to like imaginary baseball and imaginary apple pie to be American.

    These people are nuts.

  2. Wrong! Superman is literally… AN ALIEN! An illegal ALIEN who was not granted permission to live in America.

However, at least he never flew the Krypton flag … but assimilated to Truth, Justice, and The American way.

    1. After the 1986 reboot, the official answer from DC is that since the spaceship was a “gestation matrix”, Superman was born when he was removed from the spaceship. Thus making him born on U.S. soil and a natural-born U.S. citizen.

This came up in the context of an alternate timeline where he ran for President, and the question of whether he was a natural-born U.S. citizen was raised.

I’ve seen the new film, and the clickbait outrage is just that. There’s nothing that even whiffs of wokeness in the entire film (whether it is a good film or a good Superman film is another matter). This is just typical Zegler-esque foot-in-mouth disease from Hollywood “talent”.

    2. Superman adopted patriot values because he was raised by the Kents, salt of the earth Kansas farmers.
Oh, he is also a fictional character.
      Sheesh!

      1. Sorry … where is the “tongue in cheek” emoji I can post? It’s not really sarc. but it’s not taking the topic seriously whatsoever … other … than to mock whomever called Superman an “immigrant”.

TIC? That doesn’t look right …

    3. ” Truth, Justice, and The American way.”

Yeah, not in the new version….it’s “Truth, Justice and Good Things” or some other silliness.

They just can’t help themselves, can they?

    4. Right. Show me all the other countries that have the phrase ‘pursuit of happiness.’ in their constitution if they even have one. Canada made one in the 80’s. It’s not there.

    5. In Mad Magazine, Superman was depicted declaring there was no time to lose. The next panel had him in line for the annual alien registration.

  3. So was Zod.

Superman can stay since he as assimilated nicely, provides benevolent benefit to the citizens, and holds stable employment. And, technically, he secured refugee status on asylum basis since his previous domicile is space dust.

Zod was a murderous criminal (on Earth and Krypton) and should be shipped to El Salvador. 😀

  4. “If you don’t like that, you’re not American.”

Typical lefty: throwing rocks at people with real “gunns”.

  5. Shorter article and recommendation – go back to the studio system where the talent knew to not speak out of turn.
