Blacklock’s- ‘Worse’ Despite GST Holiday
New rental construction remains slow despite a multi-billion dollar tax holiday for builders enacted two years ago, new CMHC data show. Then-Housing Minister Sean Fraser had predicted the tax break would “have a major impact.”

Because it does nothing to deal with all of the other problems with Rental construction, not the least of which is that most laws are hostile to Landlords.
Rather than increasing the stock of housing, which Liberals promise and fail to deliver, the reality is Canadian housing starts are dropping, and the blame for that lies with those who sponge off us to solve housing shortages.
Government’s don’t solve problems.
Fraser is a turd.
Shithole Nation.
Lots of new construction in Winnipeg.
Must be for unemployed immigrants, sure aren’t for those of us paying for it while trying to keep a 60+ year old house viable.
I’ll raise ya to 123 yr old house!
Ain’t easy keeping it up the older we get.
Government always pulls it’s fantastic figures out its derrière. It has no clue other than “look at us, we’re pretending to do something and here are all the benefits!” Reality always comes but government just goes “deny, deny, deny”. Sadly, there are always the “Elbows Up!” retards or current equivalent imbeciles who will believe whatever the government says as long as there is free stuff involved.
Every level of government exerts the dead of the state making housing as expensive as possible. The Industry is shrugging. The government continues to lie.
