  1. The chiefs and their favored have new SUVs and pickup trucks, and big screen tvs. That is all.

  2. “Ottawa has invested approximately $200 billion since 2015 in Indigenous priorities…”

Kinda like how an embezzler “invests” money in Las Vegas. And who is this “Ottawa” fellow?

Gotta love the wordsmithing used to protect the guilty.

  3. How are we doing on the things that big government progressivism is supposed to “fix” or at least “mitigate?”

    Such as:
    – clean water for all Canadians and other indigenous issues
    – corruption and greed
    – poverty, associated property and other crime
    – drug addiction
    – homelessness
    – home affordability
    – crime itself

By any rational and contextual analysis, big government has only, conveniently imho, only worsened such social vagaries.

Instead, to cover such failure, they hide behind their institutions telling us they’re battling (and losing to) intolerance and disinformation, which as defined as anything that does forward their hegemonic neo-regal power over us.

H.L. Mencken has some great quips about government greed, failure and fearmongering and our willingness to be led around by our nose, and wallet, surrendering our freedom to progressivism, taxation, inflation and war, but this is the most apt for the situation where our conflicted, recused PM has to duck out of his own caucus meetings:

“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

  4. The proliferation of urban reserve properties, consisting of high priced real estate gifted to various bands and populated with commercial buildings ought to be providing sufficient lease revenue to pay for a massive rebuild of non-urban reserve infrastructure. My sense is that “consultants” and a handful of managers are gobbling up most of the money.

    1. Yep. I’m sure a good forensic accountant could find out where the money really went, but it’s doubtful you could find one who would look into this. And even if you did, he/she would likely be blocked at every turn.

  5. FILTHY LIBERALS

This article is misleading at best. These are the numbers:
    2024 Fiscal Year Federal Budget.
    – 441,000 Government Staff
    – $65.5 Billion in Wages (I just puked in a pail)
    – $26.49 Billion for “Indigenous Well Being”
    – $16.3 Billion for “Crown Indigenous Relations”
TOTAL – $42.7 Billion for Indians
We spend $34 Billion on Defence. $43 Billion on Conquered People that mostly hate us.

It’s like paying the Jizya to the islamic Rapey Beheady Death Cult Gang.

    Elbows up.

  6. The grievance industry is “white pimp” dominated. This comes from the SCOC on down to the lowliest of I.A. bureaucrat, the legal community, and those managing the lions share of indigenous (mainly resource shakedown) businesses all cheered on by the institutional left of academia and the media.. The on-reserve serf class are statistically so messed-up and exploited as messed-up as to be presented as victims by their nobility who, to protect their power, are sworn enemies of assimilation and therefore need to maintain, reinforce, and invert the apartheid of the Indian act. This means unending negotiation and litigation all paid for by the enslaved races who pay taxes.

  7. We’d save a lot of money if Indians resumed some of their traditional ways;
    – no cars, walk everywhere
    – no electricity, live in tents.

  8. The proof of the pudding is in the eating, and so far Canadians are still hungry for any tangible progress from the Carney Liberals. This first thing they did was entrench supply management for the cosseted dairy industry, when that particular trade irritant should have been scrapped. Then they tried to tax US streaming platforms. Epic fail. Now Carney says tariffs are inevitable. Some saviour he turned out to be. Happy, Ontario and Quebec.

  9. For this much money they ought be fighting Russians in the Ukraine. Probably have about the same to show for it.

  10. We should just put all the Indians in the CAF.
That’ll solve a whole lotta budget problems.

  11. It works out to $10,000 annually per “native”, for the past decade. That would completely pay my property taxes, (which cover police, fire, administration, roads, sewers, and education and etc etc) , my gas/water/electrical/sewerage utility bills, and give me $500/ month for groceries. I can only dream of this life. To hell with everyone involved in this system: the tribes, the chiefs, the lawyers, the bureaucrats, and the government. The whole system needs to be abolished.

  12. “Yet despite this decade-long investment, persistent gaps remain”

With the government handing out that much (and growing) money, where’s the incentive to get off their butts and do something?
