Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Caused by climate change! More carbon tax please!
Yes, volcanism must be outlawed, as an existential threat to the planet. Surely the UN can do something.
Here’s an idea roaddog!! Why don’t we sacrifice ALL the ‘climate scientists’, computer modelers, and the entire cadre of UN IPCC officials to the volcano goddess Pele? Toss em all in the crater.
Also Greta Thunberg. She deserves the honor of going first.
Some have tried to claim that very thing, I **** you not.
Some things are so stupid, they are only believed by the supremely over-educated. Carbon is life.
Also earthquakes.
Climate change? Well, kind of. The cause is really Trump … and we all know he’s the guy who is controlling things.
(sarc … for those who might require it)
Well, I guess Carney has to raise the industrial carbon tax now.
He’ll be looking for any excuse to do so.
Few things would terrify me as much as being within easy visual range of a volcano capable of pyroclastic flows. Briefly, at least.
The analogy to a “fizzy drink” is, I think, a measure of how far journalism has fallen.

I realised too late that I should have said “of an erupting volcano”, but it is what it is.
As to “fizzy drink”, they do have to make it relatable to their audience.
Then they should have used the “fart” analogy. More their audience’s speed.
A little history. Curious to learn if interfering with lava flow is still illegal.

It was less volcanoie when I visited a decade ago.
I was on Etna in October. Beautiful small historic city on the Mediterranean at the foot of this 11,000 foot cone of volcanic rubble. Beautiful but deadly location.
Can’t have too much CO2.

Tnx. Kate for all you do. 🙂
I know volcanic ash is a good fertilizer but I’m betting a lot of those tourists were doing their part as well.
Mt Vesuvius is kinda steamy too, you can hike around the rim and have a refreshment at a viewpoint of Pompeii, though dormant, they say.
