Larry- I’d suggest they be housed in the nice neighbourhoods of the city’s left wing aldermen, or the members of the justice system that advocate for leniency, and the social services workers that believe they are helping them by encouraging bad decisions.

Oh, I completely misconstrued the intent of Kate’s post! I figured she wanted drug addicts who repeatedly overdose to be released into the Canadian wilderness.
I don’t know how your average DES junkie would do up 200 miles north of Prince George, but it would be a learning experience. Where would they put the “tag”, on the ear or on a collar around the neck?
Might be slightly more merciful if this was only done in Summer.
I’m old enough to remember that the only thing you did 200 miles north of PG was to plant trees, and the drugs involved were supportive of the effort, mainly being hash and beer and the odd benny. Simpler daze.
My method would be an ear notch on the first emergency call. Two ear notches max. After two ear notches, no more Narcan.
