There is a symbiotic relationship between government and criminals. When crime gets out of hand, the idiots say, “well, the government should do something” effectively giving more power to the government. So government loves that crap, and higher crime rates keep Joe public cowered and fearful, making them more compliant and easier to control. They see lawful gun owners as the only real threat to their power, and by fooling Joe public into thinking we are the threat, they get public support for their gun bans. Why would we be a threat to them? Because if there was an uprising or revolt, we’d be giving our spare guns to others, to fight off our government oppressors. So, they see us as the biggest threat to their existence.
