Canola, pork and seafood producers are collateral damage in the brewing trade war between Canada and China. Despite a supposed “anti-discrimination” investigation by China, it is crystal clear that agriculture has been chosen in order to inflict maximum economic pain on Canada.
Of course they waited for after the election to “notice”.
There is a big difference between free trade and fair trade.
The Chicoms don’t believe in the former.
And I doubt they even have a concept of fair when dealing with barbarians.
As for Carnage, he wouldn’t dare add or raise a Tariff on Canadian Tire crap.
Tariffs and billions of dollars to shield an imaginary industry.
Millionaire Marx Carney, the lying sack of crap, has friends in the International Monetary Fund, when they have to step in and write a budget for this place are they going to let him down gently?

China has affordable, cool EVs on the market.. We don’t.. I like the one with smaller batteries that has a gas generator under the hood.. Its got like 250 km electric range and the gas generator adds another 500km + range..
Designed to be charged with standard household current.. Got everything you would want or need :).. Even incentive to not burn gas.. Plug that thing in anywhere.. Overnight on the cheap.. = Nobody is happy but the consumer.. CLEARLY.. We cant have such a thing..
Tariff’s on pigs … sounds about right to me, as ev’s are pigs of the automotive world.

Nothing can stop Alberta or any province petitioning the crown to seek an arrangement outside of confederation that still recognizes the King as Head of State.
They pass legislation to present to King Charles and Ottawa can go pound salt.

The even better irony is that Canada was subsidizing an EV industry that is now going bankrupt (NorthVolt, Lion) or will be delaying investments in Canada (Honda).
So Canada is being tariffed by China today to protect an industry that does not even exist. And if the US pushes back on the EV car mandate, there may never huge demand.
Carney apparently doesn’t want you to own an EV that you can actually afford. He doesn’t want you “owning” anything. The Spawn poured tens of billions into Ontario to buy votes on an industry where Canada isn’t even close to having a competitive advantage and the rent seeking corporations that took the money, if they didn’t know that then, they sure do now. It’s interesting that Carney hasn’t backed off the Chinese EV tariffs but he has backed off retaliatory tariffs on US goods that he built his “elbows-up” election campaign on. The Canola and Pork producers must all be from the west where Liberals don’t get elected and this is Carney’s retribution.
